A boy in the house!!!

We picked Ben up after dropping Megan and Jessica off at school. Before we even got to our street he was asking why Elizabeth talked so much... He chatted non stop the whole time he was here and it was lovely to have him visit us. Erica turned up as we were finishing lunch and left after having some herself. Not much else to share on the day, a nice day in :)
Was a lovely warm day too, Megan asked why it was so hot if it was winter... WHO KNOWS ITS TASMANIA lol Not sure what it got to but it felt warmer than 20!

Quick update on a very busy day.

And what a packed day it has been!!! Only had a couple of hours at home all day and boy does it feel like that!!!
Had the literacy seminar at school, learning about how you help equip your child to be a better reader etc, then left there about 10.30. From there Elizabeth, Lucy and I went to the fruit and veg shop, ate a banana (will be glad when they come down in price!!!) and some strawberrys in the car before going to Big W. Bought an $8 camera case for my digital camera and a $6 remote control holder. Also bought some books, 2 for Dave and one each for the rest of us, and some craft storage box thingees... Back to school to get Jessica and then finally landed back home for lunch, couple hours at home then back to school for Megan. Post Office to pick up a package from Mum and Dad, we missed the posty at some point today, and then finally home again to get ready to go out again!!! Dave was home bit before 4 so we snatched a moment to have a coffee (I had been hanging out all day for one!!).
Tonight we had the Literacy family/pizza night at school and the girls enjoyed that!! They each got to show us some games that we got to bring home, again things to equip them for better reading, and then we had some games and later pizza. Megan won a round of word bingo, she picked a magnetic game that has snakes and ladders/ chess/ checkers. Then we also had out name drawn out to win a prize and Jessica choose a sticker book, was the only prize left so thankfully we didn't have to wait while she decided what to choose!!
So that was the day *phew*!!
Tomorrow we are looking after Erica's 4 year old Ben. She has just started a couple of jobs and has a cleaning job tomorrow for 3 hours. Let's hope he enjoys his time here, Elizabeth is very excited about having him come visit!!! Told her it was the perfect day for us to look after him, was the only day that didn't have something on!!!!

visitor, princess and another layout!

Another busy day in paradise!! Dropped Megan and Jessica off at school then went and attacked the grocery shopping. Home to unpack, tackle the washing and then after picking up Megan this afternoon we all went to the library to return the books and get some new ones.

Look who Megan brought home with her today!

All the kids in her class get a turn to bring Ellie home and write in his journal all his antics. We have just finished writing her pages up. I took some photos of Ellie doing different things, printed them up tiny, and then Megan wrote a little about each photo. So he drove our car, played on the slide, got stuck up a tree, brushed his teeth, went to the loo and had a bath, among other things!!! She loved it, especially when I said, for the photo of Ellie on her computer, that she could say he was emailling his girlfriend!!!
Last night I had an email from my sister with some photos of her lovely little Miss Makayla. She was too cute dressed up for a fancydress day at daycare. Have to share this photo!
I also finished this layout last night. Its of Elizabeth's toys. She doesn't have one that is favoured over another so the layout had to contain all her loved toys. They all live on her bed or rather they spend more time on the floor or UNDER her bed!! The layout was hard and doesn't feel complete but as long as its got the 'memory' there I'm happy :)

Not scrapping tonight cos I want an early-ish night!! Tomorrow is jam packed. Staying at school in the morning for a Literacy seminar run by the kindy teacher. Then from 4.30-6.30pm we will be back at school for a Litercay game/pizza night. Both Megan and Jessica are looking forward to the pizza!! Dave is also heading up to Launceston in the morning so its going to be a busy day all round!!

Another layout and a busy day

Wow to me! I completed this layout last night. With the cutting out etc I am pretty pleased to have finished it.
Today has been another full day. Washingx2, mopped the kitchen/bathroom/toilet, took Jessica, Elizabeth and Lucy for a walk around the block (was such a lovely day!), played outside, the usual school running around, cooked roast meal etc etc....
Oh and I keep forgetting to write on here that Dave didn't get the job he had the interview for, so back to waiting for another position to come up.
Am hoping to start, and maybe complete, another layout tonight so stay tuned :)

Lovely night, layout and a little more

Well, I had a lovely time at Josiane's last night. Picked up Allison around 4.30-5 and headed down to Josiane's palace. Had a fun night, yummy pizza, and actually completed this layout of Lucy!

Was home around 11.30. Today has been mostly filled with washing and keeping the kids amused as Dave declared it an 'electronic device free day'... not sure why, he's not either!!, but the girls found plenty to do and when they were finally bored Dave asked them to walk around the house to see how many steps it would take them..... Elizabeth said 2, while Jessica said 13 and Megan was a more realistic 58. Dave also made an apple pie (he made a self saucing chocolate pudding for them last night!) so the day has been full. And for those brainiacs, the oven is electrical and not deemed part of the 'electronic device free day', Megan did ask ;)
Dave played soccer yesterday, score was 6-1 to Dave's team, and he got a run instead of being in goals the whole game. He played against Shane's team so he is happy to have had the opportunity to steal the ball off Shane :)
Hope you all have a great start to an exciting week :)

I have heard from Allison and Dale's surgery went well and they now have to wait for the results. Have also heard from Kanina. Her little boy Kyle, who is 4, had blood taken yesterday to be check for diabetes. They have to wait till Tuesday for more news on that.

Thursday...

Got to listen to two boys read this morning, at school, before heading to the fruit and veg shop.
Megan and Jessica had their school photos today, so they were excited about that!!!
Started a layout lastnight which went together quickly and I am hoping to complete tonight so I can start another!!!
Have been thinking of Allison all day. Dale is in having surgery on his arm to have a lump removed, so hoping all is going well and that the lump is removed without a problem and it proves to be nothing but a lump :) Hope he recovers quickly too!!
Not much else to share... its been a week since I burnt my hand and Dave told me not to use the frying pan tonight just in case!! He is at soccer training, last for the year YAY. Last game on Saturday. Am going to Allison's friend Josiane's for a scrap night on Saturday too so hoping to get a layout (or 2) completed then too!!!

Injections, Invasion and Incomplete completed

Took Lucy for her Chickenpox vaccine today, as well as a HepB that was missed at her 12 month lot. Hard to believe she is almost, well 2 days off, 18 months!!! My baby is now a tantrum throwing toddler who doesn't like missing out, things taken away or not getting what she wants. She didn't have a sleep AGAIN today, too busy singing in her bed before realizing I wasn't coming so changed to sooking and that worked.
Allison came to visit today too. So we had 9 kids between us but they all played wonderfully and you would never have guessed there were that many kids! Thanks again Allison for the visit.
Last night I finished this layout of Jessica, Megan and poor squashed Dave. I went to bed cranky because I had added the rubon flowers and hated what I had done. So this morning I added a bit more to see if I could be more pleased with the layout. I quickly stitched while the girls watch the telly before school and then after getting back from the drs I added some more rubons and was feeling a little better with the result. Wanted it to be a fun layout and hope I have succeeded!

What have I done!!!

Today I booked and paid for my spot for the Scrapilicious Scrapping Retreat in October. I am excited about going but oh so very nervous!! It will be the first time I have been away from Dave and the girls for that length of time and I get teary just dwelling on it!!! The biggest reason I want to go is to meet Julie Love and I have dictated an email in my head a thousand times apologising for not being able to go and now I am going!!! OH MY!! The retreat is at Camp Clayton, the other end of the state, and the distance has added to my unwillingness to go but I am hoping all will be well on the home front and the distance won't be an issue. Also hoping I have a fun and full time so I won't dwell on what might be happening at home etc.... It's funny I haven't been home sick before but I am feeling that way months before going anywhere!!!!!
What else... Started a layout last night, am really loving it and enjoying scrapping it AND I bought some things, while in paying for the above, so looking forward to using those too!!
Had a call from school today. Megan had spilt juice on herself, juice from her fruit salad, so I had to take a change of clothes for her before waiting, with Elizabeth and Lucy of course, in the carpark for half an hour to get Jessica.
Jessica is off on an excursion tomorrow. They are going to visit another local school and have the morning with their kinder kids. I am sure she will have lots of storys to share about that when she gets home!!

Slow start to a fast day

Well we jumped in the van this morning, ready to rev off to school, but the poor thing decided it didn't want to budge. The battery was flat. So I rang Dave, he came and took Megan to school and then bought a new battery, changed it and then went back to work.
Jessica, Elizabeth, Lucy and I then went to the supermarket before getting back in time to unpack for lunch. The rest of the day was packed with cleaning etc so the day just disappeared!!!
Hoping to scrap tonight, Dave is plodding thru an assignement for the stuff he did in Brisbane.

Injurys, layout and a visitor

Well!!!! Thursday night I was cooking tea for the girls, Dave had soccer training to go to, when I was turning a hamburger and the oil spat up and burnt up my little finger, hand and arm. Sounds worse than it is but boy did it hurt!!! So my plans of blogging and then scrapping up a storm, while Dave was at training, went out the window!! As it was I ended up chatting on the phone to Allison and then Bron. Bron left on Friday for Fiji for her Mission trip.
So thats all I can think of to share about Thursday...
Friday night we had Opa come visit for the weekend. Its the first time he has been to our new house and we haven't seen him for almost 12 months, I think. Opa is Dave's Dad and lives up the other end of the state so we don't see him often. He came down mostly to watch Dave play soccer against Uncle Samuel, Dave's youngst brother. This they did on Saturday and Dave's team lost (predictably!!) 4-0. Opa left this morning, very worn out lol he was swamped by his Granddaughters who love him playing 'Gravel Gravel' with them. He puts them on his lap, bounces them around while saying "bitumen, bitumen, gravel, gravel, rocks, rocks, hole in the road" then drops them to the floor. He has done it since Megan was a little baby and they love it!!
Yesterday Allison came visit in the afternoon, stayed for tea and then we scrapped. Was nice to get back in to it, I wouldn't have done if she hadn't come over and motivated me!! So I completed this layout of Elizabeth last night, took me till after 11pm though!!! Thanks Allison!

Flu not budging

Woke up this morning with a raging sore throat and my glands back up grrr. Been like it all day so have drank lots and hoping tomorrow is a better day!
Grocery shopping this morning, took an hour and a half today!!, and then the usual running around from here to school etc.
Not much else from the day to share so I hope you have all had a reasonable Wednesday :)

Not much of a Tuesday Tuesday

We didn't get to the library for storytime today. We hadn't read all of the books and Lucy was too crabby so we stayed home. I gave Lucy her lunch before going to get Jessica and by the time we got to school she was asleep in the van!! She stayed that way till I got her out when we got home and went straight back to sleep in her cot till I had to wake her before getting Megan. Hoping all that means is that she is on the mends from this flu and not coming down with something else!!!
Had another headlice search tonight, I found some of the critters on my head this time grrr. So I dosed my hair this morning and hoping that's the last of them FOREVER please!!!!Everyone else was clear so not sure where they came from grrrr again!
*Sigh* if its not one thing its another :( Thinking of becoming a hermit so I don't pick up any more ick bugs, of all descriptions!!! Its either that or start scrubbing people down as they come thru the door!! Oh the joys of it all :) So thankful that it is stuff that goes away or can be fixed.

Weekend, school free and interview

Can't believe the weekend, felt like it was over before it started!!! Saturday morning started with Megan, and the other girls following her cue, nagging for pancakes. So Dave, the Pancake KING, made us all a batch. Later he took Elizabeth off to get some milk, something for lunch and some grapes... back they came with milk, chicken for lunch, a couple of bananas (no grapes to be found anywhere in the shops, weird), a skirt that was on sale at Millers and a singlet top for Megan (Bonds for $2!!). Can you tell Dave loves to shop!!
The rest of the day I don't recall, brain is still full of unmentionable flu stuff, so if I missed anything important I am sure I will be reminded of it eventually.
Sunday arvo Karina and her boys came for lunch. Was lovely to see them and I hope they enjoyed it. Thanks for visiting and we hope to see your place soon too!!!
Today Megan had her student free day and I was lucky enough to get a hair dressing appointment for all 4 girls so we did that and the fruit shop before lunch. Dave rang as I was getting Lucy's lunch and he came home with lunch for the rest of us and we have enjoyed the arvo with him!! With regards to the haircuts, Megan wants to grow hers long again so she didn't have much off from the back and has been told she will need to brush it lots etc, Jessica has gone back to a bob (YAY) and I love it, Elizabeth has a shorter fringe so we can see the longer bits that haven't grown out yet and pull them back (much to her announance as she hates having her hair touched!!!) and Lucy's hair is as fine as mine so her fringe is a little thicker. Will have to add Elizabeth and Lucy's photos as Blogger isn't letting me :)
As the girls were in the bath Dave's mobile rang and he has his job interview Friday at 11.30. This one is for Sub-Stations Engineer and its work he has done before while on rotat

It couldn't last

I am now sick with this flu thing too! Feeling yuck, yuck, yuck :(
Rolling back to yesterday... Allison came to visit with 4 kids that she had in care. Was a good day and having her there sure distracted me from feeling as ick as I do now!! Lucy has been very sooky so its been even more draining oh and Elizabeth has been waking a lot thru the night too so all in all we are a tired little household!
Today Jessica, Elizabeth, Lucy and I went to MOPS. Was nice to be out doing something, but when we got home Lucy was sooky again, didn't want her lunch, didn't want to go to sleep until she finally fell asleep on me after 4.
Hoping to get some rest over the weekend and Megan has a student free day on Monday so at least we won't have to run around for school.

Tired old Wednesday

Elizabeth was awake on and off thru the night and I woke early so I started the day feeling a little flat. Yesterday Jessica had had a bleeding nose and had another this morning and Elizabeth had also woken up with blood all over her pillow. Lovely part of the cold/flu they have :( Lucy has spent most of the day feeling sooky and grazed her nose at school, while waiting for Jessica, so its been a lovely nose bleeding type of day!!
Apart from that, I finished my layout of Lucy last night and am really pleased with it. It took awhile to come together but it's done now :)

I sent a photo of it to Allison, via my mobile and the photo was a shocker! For some reason it didn't want to take normal photos so it ended up psychadelic!!!

I think I freaked her with the photo, or made her sick from all those bright colours!!!!

Census night

Well this will be our first in our OWN home :) It will also be the first time for Elizabeth and Lucy. Love surveys and stats so yay lol
I started a layout of Lucy on Sunday night, still haven't finished it, and am a little stumped with what to do next on it so hoping to do a little more tonight and hopefully finish it!
Today was pretty much an ordinary Tuesday. Home reading with 2 kids at school, home for the washing, cleaning and morning tea, library for storytime, pick Jessica up, home for lunch, sleep for Lucy, quiet time for Jessica and Elizabeth before back to school to get Megan.
Today is my youngest brother Niall's birthday. Happy Birthday, 26 ain't too old :)

Thoughtful man and 4 sick kids

Megan stayed home today, Elizabeth was awake a lot thru the night and each time she got up so did Megan *sigh*, figured she might need a little rest :)
So today was an around home day, got to go out and play in the back yard for a bit this arvo as it was lovely and sunny.
Just after lunch the door bell rang and Dave was there with a bunch of tulips for moi :) Lovely man then went back to work.
So that's pretty much our day, the younger 3 had temps again so they are dosed up and thankfully all 4 are sleeping :) Yay that I still don't have it!!
Oh and we got Mum and Dad's package today, Mum and Dad you will be happy to know that the slimy mouse you sent for Elizabeth is in the bin already, she pulled it clean in half :) Megan and Jessica love their rings!!
Night :)

Pin It Now!

The croakers are visiting

Megan started, then Jessica followed by Elizabeth and I'm thinking Dave won't be far behind... Croaky voices. Jessica has been a little off for the last 2 days and slight temp at night, so she has been having some panadol to help the temp. Elizabeth started the temp thing tonight too and Megan has been complaining of a sore throat. Dave woke up this morning saying he had got it too. So I'm hoping I skip the whole flu thing and stay on top of it all, I need my voice to control this lot lol. Lucy has been her usual self today so hoping she stays well too :)
Well today has been a full day! What have we done... trip to the chemist and fruit shop, mowed the lawn, cleaned up around the garden, watered the garden, washing out, folded washing, dry washing in and folded and put away, vacuumed, played Nintendo (Diddy Kong racing), read books, drawing, played Hungry Hippos, cooked tea, ate tea, dishwasher stacked and on, bath for 4, bed for 4..... and all that after lunch!!!!!
Tomorrow will be a quiet day around home, other than taking Megan to and from school. We had Chicken Kiev for tea and hoping the garlic helps their flu and to keep it away from me! So Dave and Megan will be popular tomorrow hehehehe
And as promised photos of Elizabeth and Jessica in their new hats. Grr blogger just broke and I can't add the photo of Miss J so will add her via the other program!! Night off to watch Idol :)

All partied out :)

What a busy day!! 9am, after putting the washing on and stripping all the beds, we headed out the door to go present shopping. We accomplished that and also picked up a tshirt for Megan, a beanie bear for Lucy (it has LuLu written on its belly so we couldn't go past it AND it was in the bargain bin!), a pair of bonds toe socks for Megan that were only $2!! (she loves toe socks and was wearing a pair today) and a knitted hat for Jessica and Elizabeth (which I hope to take some photos of tomorrow!).
So then we headed off to Shane and Anna's for Nicola's 3rd birthday party. We stayed a little bit then left Megan, Jessica and Elizabeth there (it was a kid's only party) and took Lucy down to the canal after buying something for our lunch. I asked Lucy if she liked being an only child... I'm still waiting on her reply lol. Went back to pick up the girlys before heading home. Walked in the door to the washing machine beeping and as I was walking out the door again, with Megan, Elizabeth informed me that she had wet herself... Dave was dealing with the laundry so I cleaned up the carpet and left him to the rest.
Megan and I went to Kmart to get Dave's Dad's Day present, you too will have to wait and see what they got but Megan was impressed and can't wait to umm use it...
From Kmart we went to the PCYC for the other birthday party. They had set up one of the gym areas with loads of mats, beams, rings, tramps etc etc so Megan loved every minute of it!!! They didn't do the food thing till the end and Megan ate very little before asking if we could go home. So we did, via Spotlight so I could get some new albums as the 2 albums I have are just about full and I want to seperate the girl's layouts out.
Dave had been very busy, love you Dave!!, and had tea on cooking and had made an apple pie (YUMMMMM although we are yet to have our piece). So thats our day :)
Last night we watched the last of the Star Wars movies, I got Dave the entire set for Christmas and we have only just watched this one!!! So now we can sit down and watch them from 1-6 :) and one day we will watch 1-6 in one go!! Yep the girls will be a lot older and by then hooked on Star Wars too so there will be fights over who has to go make the pop corn!!!

I broke my own record!!

I completed a layout lastnight in under 2 hours!! Super dooper quick for me and the layout is one that I wouldn't normally do so I'm happy!!
Its of Jessica, she was doing her jigsaw puzzle on the loungeroom floor. We weren't paying much attention until we looked and saw how she had placed all the pieces in a circle around herself, A PERFECT CIRCLE!!!! We asked her why, her reply was simple, so she could see all the pieces... She has a way of doing things that just stumps us :)
Today we went to visit Allison for the day, thanks again Allison!!! The girls enjoyed playing with the kids Allison had in care and it was lovely to have such a glorious day to have some time outside in!! Elizabeth said the clouds were asleep today and she wasn't much wrong!! It was a lovely sunshiny day!
Megan went to a friends after school so we weren't home long before I had to go out and pick Megan up.
Hoping they let us sleep in just a little tomorrow, its going to be a full and busy day!!!

Almost Friday

Another busy day, as planned!! Grocery shopping with my wonderful helper Elizabeth and supervisor Lucy. Home to reward them with morning tea while I unpack/pack the groceries and with a little time to spare before picking up Princess Jessica from Kindy. She loves shopping day as it means chicken for sandwiches and she LOOOOVES chicken!!
My Scrapbooking Memories magazine was in the mail today so I got to start reading that while Jessica and Elizabeth watch Aladdin on telly. Back to school for Megan and then home to empty rubbish bins, refill the dishwasher and then start tea before Dave headed off to soccer training. I rang him just a little while ago (I am ordering some scrap things and wanted to make sure I could) and he said that he was the only one at training so far!! I might get my tea early tonight.. not banking on it though!!!
Tomorrow I'm hoping to get ready in time to take the girls down to see Allison... will see how things go in the morning!!! Still have those presents to buy, that will be a Saturday morning job I think!!

Busy

Read with 2 kids at school (another new one) before coming home so Elizabeth and Lucy could scoff down some morning tea and then jump back in the van. This morning was the first 'Rock and Rhyme' held at our Library. Its a 20min session for baby/toddlers with singing etc. Both Elilzabeth and Lucy enjoyed it. So then we came home for a little bit before getting Jessica from school.
Tomorrow I have to do the grocery shopping so that will take up the morning, sadly!!
Have to buy 3 birthday presents too. Shane and Anna's Nicola is 3 on the weekend, her party is Saturday morning, Megan is off to a party Saturday arvo, a boy in her class, and Loretta's Makayla is turning 1 next week so will have to get my socks on and post something up.
It was also Joey's birthday yesterday, happy birthday to him and my youngest brother Niall's birthday next week... what a busy start to the month!!!
Bron is also off to Fiji this month, mission trip for her Bible college course. Mum and Dad rang in last night too. They were up with Niall and Fiona in Darwin. Dad's sister, Aunty Isabel, flys in Sunday morning and then her and Dad are going to see Dad's brother, on Bathurst Island, for a couple of days.
Dave has all his letter set to apply for another job at work, he didnt' get an interview for the manage job and he wasn't surprised. So all in all I think I will have a nap now to get me thru the busy month!!!

A Tuesday kinda Tuesday

so my days are back to feeling normal, not sure how long that will last!!
Didn't stay at school this morning, went to the fruit shop instead. Restocked on our fruit and veg before coming home so Elizabeth and Lucy could eat some of it!!
Library for storytime and then the usual pickups etc from school.
Other than that not much to tell... congrats to Jamie for winning Big Brother, loved Camilla from the beginning and it was great to see her go so far! From the moment she walked out on stage, at the beginning, I said to Dave that I could really relate to her. Watching the goings on in the house just cemented that I could read her like a book. But good on Jamie for doing so well too and it will be interesting to see what happens with his relationship with Katie... no doubt Australia will be watching!!!
