Another fly by day

and only 1 sleep to go!! Today has been an around home day but it has been sunshiny so most of the morning was spent outside.
Tomorrow Megan is off to the Botanical Gardens to see a patomime, Aladdin, and Jessica is off to the Playhouse Theatre to see Puss in Boots. So they both have fun, busy day ahead. Megan is out with Dave at rehearsal for their own Aladdin. Megan is loving it all and after she got home from school today she grabbed her script and I could hear her reading it aloud in the kitchen. Lots of packing for me tomorrow ;)
27 sleeps till Christmas.

Is today already over??!!

today has been and gone before I could think that it was Monday! Its been full of around home things, washing, watering the garden etc etc but its just gone! And that, my friend, ain't a bad thing!
I rang about Elizabeth's Speech Therapy appointment, seeing as I hadn't heard anything since the inital letter back in September. The lady said she was going to ring me this week and thanks for saving her that job ;) So we are booked in for next Wednesday morning. Will see what they think about Elizabeth's speech and what we can do to improve it.
It has dawned on me a couple of times today that its only 2 sleeps till Dave and I fly to Melbourne but I'm still not 100% aware that that means it is this week, in 2 days, soon, REALLY SOON!!! So tomorrow I have set myself the task of starting to pack the girls things and pull out a suitcase, or 3, for our things. Roll on Wednesday arvo :)
Only 28 sleeps till Christmas

First things first...

The winner of my 300th post competition. Since it was my 300th post and my favorite number is 3 that was the number chosen. So the winner is comment number three, which belongs to Drum roll please.... Anna!! Well done! I will have to think of something special and I will post it off to you. It might not be till next week though, after we get back. So look out for your posty! Thanks to all who left comments and thanks for taking part in my 300th post. Here's to the next 300 ;)
Today has been cold then sunny, cold then sunny again. It is sunny right now but there are lovely grey clouds looming. Got to have a nap this arvo and woke up cold so hoping I'm not getting a cold (will have Allison to thank if I do lol).
Dave put up some more Christmas lights today and we got out some of the noisy Christmas things. Will leave you with this photo of Lucy investigating one of them, a movement sensor one.
Only 29 sleeps to go!!!

Last chance

to leave a comment under my celebratory 300th post, if you do you might just win a little something! Will pick a winner tomorrow night, so all the best and get commenting ;)
Today we went to Karina's new house for Samuel's 5th birthday. We had a great time, her house is great and the kids loved being able to run around and explore everything. It was sooooo nice to see her again and Megan loved spending time with Jo, Mark and Belinda's eldest who is the same age as Megan.
Not much else so don't forget to scroll on down to my 300th post and leave a lil' ol' comment :)

Full Friday :)

Day went as planned, dropped Megan off at school, went to Allison's, then Mum and Dads and back to get Megan. Was warm in the car on the way back so all 3 girls fell asleep only to be woken when we got to school, I hate that :)
Off to Samuel's 5th birthday tomorrow :)
Dave was home in time to see the girls eat their tea, so they loved having Daddy back home and I think he enjoyed having them enjoy it ;) He had been to a scrapping shop in Burnie, he found it last time he was up that way, and he bought me some refill pages for my albums, some black square brads and a pad of 6x6 paper. He is a lovely lad isn't he :)

I'm tired Thursday

Didn't sleep so well last night, tossing and turning. And then today we looked after Ben again. So that kept me on my toes, Elizabeth and Ben rode the little cars around and around the house and laughed in fits when one of them toppled over! Was fun to watch!
Tomorrow the plan is to go visit Allison after dropping Megan off at school and then head to Mum and Dads for lunch before coming back to get Megan.
Spoke to Karina today too. Is Samuel's 5th birthday on Saturday so we are going to go visit her for the party and its our chance to see her new home. Will be nice to see them all again.
Leave you with lovely photo of Lucy, it makes me smile *g*

Swimming, seven sleeps and stuff

Megan and Jessica enjoyed themselves at the pool today. The day started out warm-ish (by our Tasmanian standards!) but by the time I picked Jessica up at 1.30 it was cold and drizzly. We waited for Megan's bus to arrive and picked up her wet stuff before heading home. So in the end we had 30 minutes at home to fill in before heading back to pick up Megan.
Tis only 7 sleeps till we go to Melbourne! Am excited and yet anxious about leaving the girls. Have no doubt that all of us will enjoy all our holidays though :)
Did the grocery shopping today and spent most of my Coles Myer vouchers that I got thru Flybuys. Was the first time I have used my points so it was nice to know that I have acheived something ;) Also means that its money I didn't spend today and that is money I can spend while away ;)
Dave's heading up to Launceston in the morning and then on to Stanley for the night before working up that way Friday and back late Friday night.
Speaking of numbers of sleeps... is only 33 till Christmas!!!
And talking of cool things, don't forget to leave a comment under my 300 post! You might receive a special something if you do :)

Having passion...

Today Ian Thorpe retired from competitive swimming. What a career he has had and I hope he is proud of it and can look back and see how much he has contributed to our Olympic history. But it is true that once that passion has gone you can't help but struggle with that decision to stop. I hope he finds a passion for so much more in life and continues to do great things in his life.
Ok me and my day... lots of sunshine so the washing was hung out and we had a picnic morning tea, which delighted Elizabeth no end!!! Got to talk to Mrs Next-door-neighbour over the fence. We don't see much of them, we are too busy, so it was nice to touch base. She even gave us a cardigan that she had knitted. Lovely pinks and hopefully it will fit Lucy. They are such a nice couple, next door, and we have been blessed to have them as neighbours!
Dave and Megan are at rehearsal tea is mostly cooked and I have a chicken in the oven cooking so there is something for sandwiches tomorrow. Megan and Jessica are excited about their day at the pool and Jessica gets to catch the bus back so I don't have to pick her up till 1.30, hence needing extra sandwiches in the morning. Hoping to get the grocery shopping done in the morning ick ;)

YAY POST #300!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just thought I would start with a huge thanks to those that come visit my humble little blog. This is my 300th post, yay me! So if you would like to be part of the celebrations add a comment and I will select a random winner to win a special something :)
Today Allison came to visit with her 6 day care kids. We enjoyed their company and the girls loved it so much they told Daddy all about the visit.
Not much else to the day other than took the library books back and got some new ones, which Elizabeth finds very exciting but when we get there she has no part in the selection process as she is too busy playing in the toy house they have in the kiddy area.
In the mail today we had a letter with Megan's Ultrasound and another letter with the followup Dr appointments. We have got in for the beginning on December for her Ultrasound and the Dr's just after that. So we should have some answers before Christmas.

A commencement, a completion and some cricket

Commenced last night...

Now roll on Christmas lol

Completed today...

This is the 'off the page' project that Julie Love shared with us at retreat. I finally finished it today!

And some cricket was played at the BBQ today. The girls had a great time although it drizzled most of the time we were there and we all got wet and some little people fell on the wet grass a few time, but we all had fun.

Allison is hoping to come visit tomorrow and we are looking forward to that! The week is another jam packed one with Dave going away Thurs/Fri for work and Megan and Jessica going to the Aquatic centre with school on Wednesday.
Hope you have all had lovely weekends and are ready for a brand new week :)

When things don't go your way...

Today was meant to be a good day with happy things happening... twas not to be :)
The school had a fundraiser, where you pay $10 to get a photo from a photo sitting and the opportunity to purchase a pack with 3 sittings. Well we booked ours in for this morning and rocked up. Had some lovely photos taken of us all, I hope they were lovely as I didn't see them, and then the girls had their chance to shine. Sadly it just didn't work out. Elizabeth didn't really want to be there, Lucy didn't know what was going on, didn't appreciate sitting on Megan and because i had to 'disappear' so the attention could be on the camera, she was looking around for me. So after a few attempts the guy just gave up and told Dave that was it. Then we find out that you can't get any photos unless you have the 3 sittings (Family, the girls and then us) AND you don't get your $10 photo unless you get the pack. So very sadly disappointed I got my $10 back and came away feeling cross that they hadn't mentioned any of this in the flyer we had got at home!! Didn't like that it was all down to the 10 minute time slot they allowed for each family and that THEY decided when enough was enough. For the last 2 years we have had the opportunity for family photos taken and never had it this tough before. Makes me appreciate the lady who took our photos before!!
So home again and not to waste the opportunity of having all 4 girls in nice, clean white t-shirts I took some photos at home! This wasn't meant to be either! After 3 shots, with Lucy getting upsetter by the minute, my battery died. So, after recharging it, I then took some photos of each of them in a chair by themselves. Not many of the photos were any good but hey I have them :)

Lucy's t-shirt says it all!!!

The rest of the day was then filled with Dave mowing the lawn, a little gardening and enjoying the sunshine :) I gave Megan my camera and she took some shots of Dave and I, she loved it and she didn't do too bad a job either!

Tomorrow we hope to go to a BBQ that Dave's work is putting on at the park just up the road. Meant to rain so it will be interesting ;)
Last night I finshed the layout from retreat. Is a little different to what Julie showed us but I'm never one to stick to rules and find it hard doing someone else's stuff ;) I have part read Elsie Flannigan's 52 Challenges, started at the back and reading forwards... don't ask me why cos I just did that's why ;)

Who would have thought

that even Mrs Santa is a scrapper?!! Check out here
for more.
Ok I am away now but want to leave you with this quote that I just read on the Remember When newsletter.

As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will. You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken. You'll fight with your best friend. You'll blame a new love for things an old one did. You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back.
Don't be afraid that your life will end, be afraid that it will never begin.

Bottom boogie...

It has stuck in my head thanks to 4, yes four, little girls!!!
And here is why...
Sarah from Scrapilicious emailed Allison, who kindly passed on the message, that my buttons had arrived (need them to complete the layout from retreat, Julie Love's class). Yay! Dave rang to say he would be home early and would pick up Megan, YAY. So after they had got home we had a coffee, I had it waiting, YAY. We all hopped in the car and went into Scrapilicious, poor Sarah lol.
Got my buttons, some paint and paper (shh don't tell Allison, darn thats right Allison can read... SORRY ALLISON, but I know you ARE doing a good job of not buying anything). We jumped back in the van and came home. And the reason I have the lovely Hooley Dooley song stuck in my head.... ALL THE WAY HOME THEY SANG THEIR VERSION(S) OF IT!!! It went something like B.I.T B.I.T Bottom.... B.I.T B.I.T Bottom.... Even Lucy was doing her own rendition of it!! From there it went down hill... giggling fits galore... Jessica doing a boobie version... oh dear are these really my kids??!!! More Dave than mine, SURELY!! But then I remember sitting in the car with my sister and brothers singing Slip, Slop, Slap and changing the S for every letter of the alphabet and laughing our heads off at that... somethings never change whatever the generation!!!!

More bumps and bruises

Well this week, as well as my bump to the nose, Megan had 2 days of falling out of tree she was climbing, both times she had big cuts up her legs and tore her school dress, and then today Jessica was at school for 45 minutes before i got a phonecall to day she had fallen of a little trampoline and bumped her head and cut her knee. We had just finished at the supermarket, needed milk, and were driving out when my mobile rang. We picked her up and she now has a lovely bump on her forehead and a beautiful bruise and graze on her knee. What fun :)
Not much else, the day has dragged but its almost done now. Dave and Megan are out practicing so I still have our tea to cook once they get home.
MOPS tomorrow and I can't remember what we are doing so it will all be a surprise ;)
Nighty night.

I have a headache!

Yesterday Lucy banged her head onto my nose, right between the eyes! It didn't make me see stars but boy did it made my eyes water, and it still hurts alot today. Anyways I have a headache and am happy to complain about it here :)
Well my day... picked Megan up from school around 11am and brought her home to get changed out of her school clothes. Her appointment was at 12 so we left here before 11.30. All the carparks were full, probably due to the lovely cold weather we had today and that causing extra cars in town. So we waited to get into a carpark... wait wait wait... a car comes out... a car goes in and we slowly inch our way into the carpark. Finally it is our turn and we get a park just up the first ramp. We jump out and make a made 'quick walk', 10 minutes to get to the hospital that is about 5 blocks away... we make it in time only to sit and wait an hour and a half :)
Megan did a good job of sitting and waiting. We played a drawing game on some paper and that seemed to do the trick. Anyway the long and the short of seeing the Dr is Megan had to have a wee sample, blood sample and be booked in for an ultrasound. She got upset at the thought of the blood sample so they put some cream on her 'elbow pits' (which is what we call them) and we had to wait another half an hour so that would numb the area. We went and got some lunch then. 2.10 we went back up to get her blood taken. The lady called in another lady, just in case Megan kicked out as she did previously with our GP who took some blood. She didn't and it all went well. Now for the wee sample!!! Catching wee is a very hard task and I am sure it wasn't written anywhere in the Mother manual, mind you it might have been in the tiny fine print I missed!!! Anyway between Megan and I, Megan is a small pee-er, we caught about 1cm of wee! Yay us!! The ultrasound will be sometime in the future as they have a waiting list of 2months. After we get all the results back we might be closer to knowing if there is anything going on or not. The Dr said that it is quite common for kids to have a 'gurgly' belly and just grow out of it. So we wait :)
From there we went and bought Megan a Bravery present. She choose this:

Her name is Cha-Cha :)
We were home again about 3.30, thanks Mum for looking after the girls and Dave for picking up Jessica.
Tomorrow night Dave and Megan have rehearsal again and she has talked about it ALL day!! I think she is enjoying it, and just quietly I think Dave is enjoying that she is liking it too!
Right am off to watch McLeods Daughters, Night :)

Another inside day

it has been cold and wet and getting colder by the minute. Snow is meant to fall on the mountain tonight so I suppose that it's meant to get cold ;)
Dave and Megan are at rehearsal for his work play so Im waiting to cook our tea, while Elizabeth, Lucy and Jessica are already snuggled up in bed.
Mum is coming tomorrow to look after Elizabeth and Lucy while I take Megan to the Paediatrician. Its the appointment we were referred to because of Megan's belly aches. She hasn't had a bad one in a while so I am hoping it is anxiety or something similar so we're aware of it and if not, well we will see :) Dave is picking Jessica up from Kinder and dropping her off home for Mum to look after too. Appointment is at 12 and no doubt we will have a long wait before seeing the Dr. I gave Megan the option of staying home or going to school for a little bit and she wanted to do that so I will pick her up after Mum arrives.
Tired today, Dave and I were up till about midnight nattering. Paying the price today! But it is always the way, its nice to be able to have the time to yak :)

    Happy Birthday Opa

Is Dave's Dad's birthday today and the girls had a lovely time chatting with him on the phone. Elizabeth was a giggle gert, laughing at herself saying happy birthday, and that was enough to get everyone else laughing!

Went and filled up with petrol this morning, got $50 thru EFTPOS, went to the fruit and veg shop and spent $45 of it!! By crickey it doesn't go far does it!!

The rest of my day has been filled up with filling up the kidlets day. Playing picture dominos with Jessica and Elizabeth, reading books, playing the tickle monster etc etc etc!! Fun Fun Fun ;)

Megan is off to rehearsal with Dave again tomorrow, which reminds me that Dave forgot his script today, he was rehearsing at lunchtime, so he popped home and had a coffee with me at 11am. Thanks Dave, appreciated it ;) Today was also Dave's first day in his new job. So Congratulations Mr Engineer!

Leave you with a photo of me, taken yesterday in hope I can update my blog photo, and a photo of Megan x2! They painted self portraits near the end of term 2 and had to write a little about themselves. Megan brought hers home today and it is now hanging on her bedroom door.
Dave has ground some coffee beans and I can smell it brewing, yum thanks Dave! Enjoy your evening one and all :)

    Questacon, remembrance day and sunshine

We all enjoyed our visit to Questacon this morning. Megan and Jessica had fun running between all the things they had to do! I was impressed that the organizers had remembered that today was 11/11 and we were all asked to have a minutes silence at 11am.
The rest of the day was spent around home just vegging, enjoying the sunshine and the general mucking about that is expected in this house!!! Happy Saturday night everyone.

Just a little of my day...

Had a really early night last night, in bed not long after 8.30, and boy did I need it!! Feeling heaps more awake today lol

After dropping Megan off at school, this morning, we went and did the grocery shopping. BLERK!

This afternoon, while Jessica and Elizabeth watched some telly, I covered this tin for my ink pads. I really like it!

Dave picked Megan up from school, which was nice, so he was home not long after 3. Quite like that ;)

Hoping to go to Questacon tomorrow, Megan and Jessica got to see part of it at school and have a free pass.
Hope it is a lovely weekend for you all, they are forcasting snow here again next week!!

    Its almost Friday!!

and YAY to that!! Feeling very tired today, late night on Tuesday to blame, and will be glad of the weekend.
Jessica and Megan enjoyed rehearsal last night with Dave but Jessica doesn't want to perform in it, so we will see what happens with that. Dave is out at rehearsal again tonight.
Today we looked after Ben again. He and Elizabeth had lots of fun playing together and I think, and hope, he had a good day.
Not much else... Dave has his flight and accomodation booked so we are all set for our trip to Melbourne, now to make sure we have some money to spend :)

Late night BUT I am off to Melbourne!!!!

Was up till after 11 last night finalising flights and accommodation. The computer froze 3 times so it took soooo much long than it should have! Dave is going to a conference at the end of the month so we decided I would go over too and we would stay the weekend as well. So I am all booked and our accommodation is booked for the last 2 nights, work will cover the other 2 nights, and Dave is still waiting confirmation thru work that he has the same flight and that the accommodation is booked for the first 2 nights. SO YAY!! We are going away!! Feeling a little stressed about leaving the girls so not dwelling on that cos Mum and Dad can cope!!
Well Dave is at rehearsal for his work play and has taken Megan and Jessica with him. So I have Elizabeth and Lucy in bed as last night was a late on for them. We went to Mum and Dad's for his birthday and it was after 8 before we had got home, bathed and put them all to bed. I could hear Elizabeth and Lucy talking just a while ago but I think its all gone quiet now. Dave is meant to be home, with the other 2 girls, after 6.30 so I have tea waiting to heat up in the oven before they get home.
Looking after Ben again tomorrow so Elizabeth is excited about having him come over.
Talk to you all tomorrow :)

Busy-ness, a layout and some haircuts

It has been a busy day today. We walked to school, the first time since moving here, and it took us 35 minutes to get there. The last part, up the hill, was the hardest, of course, but I was pushing the stroller with Lucy and dragging Elizabeth up as well, but we made it!! WE came home via the playground and even saw Dave on his way to another part of work. He stopped and said hello, which the girls loved.

At home we cleaned up the sun room, all the toys are away again and vacuumed it too. 2 loads of washing all washed, dried on the line and folded again. Cleaned up around the kitchen too. Today it was meant to be 12 degrees and rainy but it has been mostly sunny and up till 2.30-3 it was quite nice. It got to 15 but the sun was glorious! It is now cold and rainy off and on.
From school we went to get the girl's hair cut. So here are the results:

Lucy has a big girl haircut and is looking like a 'rounded' cheek little girl and definitely not my baby anymore. boo hoo

Last night I scrapped this layout of Megan.

Dad's birthday tomorrow and Mum arrives home in the morning from Darwin, although the girls don't know that part. So we are going to Dad's for his birthday tea and the girls will be in for a surprise to see Mashir!!

    Sunday... shopping

We bought some chippys for lunch and ate them at Cornellian Bay before going to the Island Markets for a browse, bought Megan a pair of jeans. Then went to Target, they had a top in their catalogue that I wanted (one with a little cardi top over the top), but they didn't have any of my size in stock, so we went thru some other shops and I found and bought 2 lovely ones, thanks Dave :)
So by the time we got home it was almost 3 so the rest of the arvo has been spent mucking about, which the girls excelled at, and having a nuggle with Dave.
Hope the weekend has treated you all well and the new week is a nice one :) Taking the girls for their haircuts tomorrow.

News, layout and a special moment :)

Well, which will I start with...
The news. Dave had applied for a job, his position at work is still in transition and he hadn't got the job he applied for there, someone with more years experience was given the job. Anyway, Dave had a phone interview 10 days ago and then once they followed up his referree, he was given a glowing report, they asked Dave to come and have a face to face interview. The job was in Adelaide and they wanted to fly him AND I there for the interview and put us up for the weekend. Anyway, this happened and then work decided that they WOULD offer him the position, as the other chap had turned them down, so long and the short, after much deliberation, Dave has decied to take the job here and we stay put. So there is the news :)
Love to share with you what happened yesterday, Special moment! We were at MOPS, watching Daddy Day Care, for the movie morning, when in walks Dave. I went over, greeted with a kiss and then followed him out. He went back to his car just saying he was on his way back to work. Didn't think anything else of it, till we got in the car to leave. On the front passanger seat was:

Ain't he nice :) we have tried both of the coffees already and I loooove the French breakfast one, yum.
Lastnight I went to Allison's place to scrap. Lovely time, as usual, and I completed this layout.

I think I love paints! Would love to use them more! Would have used my fingers last night but was being ladylike, being in someone elses home and all that lol, so used my foam brush instead! Love Allison's paint stash! Soooo many colours and shades to choose from, thanks again Allison.

Today we went to get Dad a birthday pressy, hope he likes our choice. Also got a pair of Little Miss Naughty PJs that were in the 20% off sale, a magnetic board for the wall near my scrap spot and Makayla's Christmas present. So yay to our shopping trip!
Came home for lunch and then I took Megan and Jessica to the supermarket to get some speical things for a 'CONGRATULATIONS DADDY' tea. We bought some sparkling apple and grape juice. The girls loved them!!

I have a clean scrap storage space!

Yesterday I spent time, between everything elsecleaning up my little nook. It was move something, come back ot it later etc etc, but I now have a better organised and cleaner scrap storage space! Got to be happy with that!

Hoping it will allow me to use things more often, rather than being unenthused about trying to find or unpack things. So now things are a little more accessible and easier to find. Love the bottles that store my buttons and the metal stand (that was my sisters pot plant holder) that now stores paints, stamps and punches. Love that my magazines are now easier to get at when I need them, the little coloured pegs I found in Big W are great for hanging my foam stamps and that my odds and ends have baskets I can get at to!! Noice!

Dave had Futsal last night and they drew 2-2.
Today has been filled with getting Elizabeth to giggle (too easy!), cleaning up spills as Lucy walked around with her drink, Jessica being excited about a birthday invite and watching Megan chat to a friend, from her old school, on the telephone.

Dave came home for lunch. So it was nice to spend some more time with him :)

Tomorrow we are off to MOPS for a movie morning, missed last years so looking forward to it.

Hope it is a happy Friday for all :)
