A Tuesday kind of Monday

Yep for me it has felt like Tuesday and the only thing I could put that down to is that it was a busy day which made it feel like I had already had a busy day the day before... make any sense to you then let me know lol
Last night I finished the layout I started at Allison's. A bit of doodling on it and although it doesn't say what I wanted it to say (which was about Megan doing everything FAST, from rollerblading to school work etc, and the need to slow down, take care and enjoy it) I am happy with the bike riding layout. She loves her bike and learnt to ride very early and took to it quickly.
Today I got to listen to 3 (1 new one) kids with their home reading. The rest of the day was full of washing, cleaning, cubby house building and some where in there 3 cups of coffee!!!!
Tomorrow is library day so its another busy day :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALLISON

Yay your 29!! Congratters and thanks for the wonderful party day yesterday!! There was Allison, her Mum, Josiane, Mel Goodsell and myself. All having a blast at Allison's scrapping away and just mucking about, yacking, eating, giggling, being silly... If you go to Allison's blog you can check out some of the photos, antics and Yummm birthday cake!
I completed one layout, Mel and I tried to see who would be finished first... she won, but hers was a smaller layout than mine sooooooo maybe it was a tie lol. I also came home with another layout started so hoping to do a little more on that tonight.
Yesterday I also had my haircut, not sure if I totally like it but anything was better than the locks I had and I no longer have knots to brush out in the morning.
Dave and the girls survived without me (BOO HOO!!) and I have heard many stories of games of hungry hippos and the chocolate self-saucing pudding he made for pudding.
Today we went and bought and new video player as ours has been broken for quite a few weeks. Got to talk to Karina today too, was really good to catch up with her goings ons and to hear that they have settled into HER new home too! Well done Karina and hope the boys are all cold-free soon! Looking forward to catching up with them soon :)

Friday YAY it's Friday!!

Soooo looking forward to the end of this week and the start of a brand new one!
This morning J,E,L and I ventured to MOPS (love all the capital letters!). We all had a nice time. On the way home we detoured via the scrap shop in town, to get some chipboard letters, and then KFC for lunch. Lucy decided that she didn't want a sleep this arvo so it just added to the busy-ness of the afternoon.
I have a haircut appointment at 8am tomorrow so there will be no sleep in for me but a haircut has been slightly overdue. Seems I like the 6-18 month between visits!! Not sure what I will have done but it will get cut lol
Then I will be home a little bit before heading off to Allison's for her BSP (Birthday Scrap Party) as I am now calling it!!! Hope to complete lots of layouts to share with you!!!
Enjoy the weekend :)

Daddy's Hospital CLOSED!!

Yep 4am yesterday Dave was up showing he was capable of keeping up with us girls!! So he had the day off work and in bed.
I started my 'home reading' with some of the kids at school yesterday, had 3 grade 3/4's and today 1 of those and another new one. Nice to get to know them and great to give them the opportunity to read to some one.
Been rainy and overcast so today and yesterday was spent indoors out of the weather!
Dropped in to see Erica today, Elizabeth was excited about playing with Ben!, she has picked up some casual work and isn't able to help with MOPS so I picked up the money tin to take with us tomorrow.
The girls, apart from Megan who has school, are excited about going to MOPS tomorrow and then tomorrow night I have to pack my new scrap bag to take with me on Saturday to Allison's Birthday Scrap Party!!! YAY, I am excited about going!!
And just have to share that I have just paid our VERY FIRST rate bill!!! I am excited about that but not about the amount of money we now don't have!! But we are bill-less again :)

Update

Grrr to blogger!! I just wrote my post, tried to add photos which it wouldn't and THEN my post disappeared! And it was a long one so here goes again!!!
Sunday morning we went to the Glenorchy Showground Market. Lots there but mostly overpriced second hand stuff. So we only bought 5 donuts for $2, in case your wondering about the 5 into 6... I didn't have one.
Sunday afternoon, while Lucy slept, Dave took Elizabeth to get some more headlice treatment as we needed some for Megan's 7-days-since-first-dose dose. So I pulled out Megan's scrap stuff with my scraps and Allison's and Megan and Jessica had a ball (see photos below added NOT THRU BLOGGER GRRR).
Megan and I made pumpkin soup and while that was cooking Mum and Dad rang from Loretta's place, yep they made it to Katherine.
Fast forward to tea time... Lucy decided that after her soup and a little of her tea that her stomach wanted to remind us of what she had eaten so there began our exciting night and the invention of 'DADDY'S HOSPITAL'.
Roll on to 9pm... Lucy's little stomach decided to give her a break so she could go to sleep.
Roll on to 1am... My stomach decided to compete with Lucy
Roll on to 2am... Jessica decided to join the party, christening her floor for the first time!!
Roll on to 6am... Elizabeth decided she was feeling left out. Thankfully Dave had emptied her shoe basket, it came in handy!!!
Roll on to 8.30am... I got out of bed, asked Dave if he had rang work, it was obvious he was staying home, he had... Asked Dave if he had rang school, it was obvious Megan was staying home as Dave couldn't trust any of us at home, he had.
Roll on to 4pm... My feet were finally defrosted, must have turned the corner.
Roll on to 6pm... dragged myself out of bed to the couch. Had felt sick all day so it was sleep or be sick.
Roll on to 9pm... final dry reach for the day
Roll on to 6am TODAY... YAY slept all night, felt 50% better and no vomiting!!!
Today has been more normal! No Library as I just didn't have the energy and Dave had his farewell arvo tea for his boss.
While I think of it I have turned on a verification option for the comments. It means an extra step when you leave comments (you have to copy the word verification) but I have been getting electronic spam comments so hoping this will stop that :)

Busy day to keep myself awake!!

Well, we were home before 10 last night. Samuel and Louise did a great job with the girls (we will have to ask them again!!!). Lucy woke as we were leaving so Dave went in and settled her again and it turned out that she was the only one that didn't get up while we were away!!! When we got home Megan and Jessica had gone back to bed but Elizabeth was still up. Tea was a yummy smorgasbord so we didn't have to wait to eat, hence the early home time. We were in bed before 11 but awake from 2am-4. Megan was up vomiting :( so I am really tired tonight and looking forward to some sleep :)
Today we kept busy, I didn't want to sit for too long in case I got sleepy. We all went into town so I could get some meat from the meat and chicken wholesale shops. Dave had soccer this arvo, they lost but I can't remember the score, so after he left, and while Lucy was in bed, we made the most of the lovely sunshine and the 3 girls rode their bikes in the driveway. I took some action shots, here are just 2 of the good ones of Megan(hope they don't make you feel dizzy!).
Also did some gardening, cleaning and cooked a yum tea! Megan went to bed before the others so hoping she sleeps through as do I hope for everyone else, me included!! Oh oh oh I just checked my bank account, paying the phone bill ICK, and Yay I got my tax money!!!

Quick post

before I need to get changed and Uncle Samuel the babysitter arrives
Allison and her crew came spent the day at our place, was lovely to see them all and our girls enjoyed having them here.
Just wanted to share this layout I started AND finished last night. Was the quickest layout for me, partly due to the fact that I had already cut out the flowers!!
So that's it, night :)

Busy Thursday

This morning was nonstop. From dropping Megan and Jessica off at school we went to the supermarket. Home to put everything away, while Elizabeth and Lucy had mornining tea, then on to hanging the washing. Back to school to get Jessica and we were lucky enough to get some of the soup they made. 4 classes made soup this week, in the colours of red, orange and green. Jessica's class made tomato soup and it was quite yummy!!
Dave is at soccer training, brrrr, and the girls are all tucked up so let the evening roll on :)

Cold old Wednesday

Not much to tell of today. School etc and mucking about at home.
Dave has organised for Uncle Samuel to come babysit on Friday night. We are off to a farewell dinner for Dave's boss. So we will see how Uncle Samuel (and assuming he would be bringing Louise) copes with the babysitting and I wouldn't mind being a fly on the wall ;) Hopefully it will go to plan and the girls will be in bed asleep and none the wiser!!!

A big Proud Mum Moment

Parent/Teacher interviews this afternoon and both Megan and Jessica's teachers had glowing things to say about our girls. It was lovely to hear that with the move they were still doing well socially and academically.
Not much else, library for storytime, school etc etc.
Just really happy that the girls have been able to settle into school without too many ripples and that they are both doing really well, smart cookies!!

Lazy day

Spent the day around home, apart from a spot of NEEDED grocery shopping.
We had our first window breakage! Jessica put a toy guitar thru one of the panes of glass in the french door that's between the kitchen/lounge. Thats the first window in this house, our family and in Dave and I's married life!
Also on the news front Dave found some icky head lice in Megan's hair last night. We haven't found any on anyone else and now that Megan's been treated I'm hoping thats the last of that!
Back to school and work tomorrow and Library for Elizabeth, Lucy and I.

Home again home again jiggety jig

The girls loved getting up and travelling in the dark to pick Dave up from the airport.
In the end I only had to wake Jessica up. Megan got up when it was almost time to go and then Elizabeth and Lucy woke so I just got them ready ane woke Jessica. Dave's flight was pretty much on time so we didn't have to wait long. By the time we got home and everyone into bed it was around midnight but the girls slept through till after 8 so that was nice!!
Yesterday we spent the morning doing the jigsaw puzzles that Dave had bought the 3 older ones home as presents. Lucy got a book and I got a lovely green t-shirt. Then in the afternoon Dave had soccer so the girls and I went to visit Allison and then Pip. Pip had 4 shopping bags full of hand-me-downs for us and it was lovely to catch up with her (and Allison OF COURSE!).
This afternoon we have had Allison come visit us. She came for lunch and had some lovely pressys too!! She has given me her old scrap trolley (now she has her new lush green leather Making Memories bad), some papers that she no longer wanted, a craft container and a organiser tote YAY can't wait to put everything in all of the new storage places!! Thanks again Allison!!!!!!
On Friday night, while waiting for the time to tick by as I waited for our trip to the airport, I finished this layout. Hope you like :) (tip: If you click on any of the photos the photo will open on a page so it is larger and you can see it a little better)

Right now the girls are watching a Barbie DVD while Dave is writing up a job application. So I thought while the internet was connected I would jump on and blog then I don't have to do it tonight, more nuggle time ;)

no more sleeps!!!!

Just spoke to Dave as his, belated, boarding call in Brisbane. So all being well his flight to Sydney will still be there with time to catch his flight back to Hobart, he was meant to have an hour stop over.
This morning Jessica, Elizabeth, Lucy and I went to MOPS. We all had a great time and I got to make a keyring. Photos are a bit blurry, because of the camera having to be so close. One side is my life, wife, kids, home, loved. The other side are things I want out of life, love, smile, grow, discover, sleeping soundly.
Well his plane should be off the tarmac by now so I will be away and hoping to finish a layout I started last night before I wake the girls to go get Dave. They have been looking forward to going to get him. Is you ask Lucy where is Daddy and ask if he is in an airplane she gives a huge, slow nod like she is definite of the answer, very cute lol Megan has a student free day on Monday and Dave has taken it as a flex so we are looking forward to the extended weekend with us all together again.

One more sleep

till our Man comes home YAY
Finished this layout of "Goggle Girls" last night.
Tried something new (made it up as I went along!!) and happy with the result.
I vacummed today, someone was kind enough to put a tissue thru the wash so, there were bits of tissue all over the floor and I just kept on cleaning. Wonder how market-able a waterproof tissue would be??!!!
I can't believe it is almost the middle of July!! There has been no time to blink and take that in! Almost 6 months since we moved in, seems like we have been here forever already.

On the downhill run now!

Over the half way mark till Dave comes home (YAY).
I started a layout, of Megan and Jessica, last night. Funnily I didn't use any of my new things!
This morning I went to the training session for the Literacy Tutoring at school. Don't know if I will end up doing it, as I would have the other kids and they would distract, so I might just do some 'home reading' for a few minutes each morning... see what pans out.
Was cold last night, snow down the mountain, but today was pretty mild. Was meant to be a rainy day today but when it did rain it was only drizzle.
Not much else to add, hoping to finish my layout tonight :)

My package arrived today, typically while we were at the library so we had to get it after school. Took a photo to share. I know I paid for it and I knew what I was getting but it was great unpacking it and seeing the colours of all the cardstock I bought. I was smart and didn't include the present I bought for Allison's b'day. I also got myself the same thing so hope she likes it :) Yes I got me a BIG S to do something with... not sure what so hoping I get inspired oneday. Also the latest For Keeps magazine. Love everything about this magazine! Is one I go back and drool over again and again, shame I have only 4 issues cos they will soon have pages stuck together!!
The rest of the day was filled with Library storytime, school and things around home.
Didn't sleep much last night, less than the night before, and rang Dave about 10 to 7 and woke him up. Jessica had come in 3-4am saying she'd had a dream about dragons (I asked what, she said they where blowing fire, I asked if she had toasted marshmellows and had a BBQ...) so she spent the rest of the night in with me. She said Daddy's bed is warmer than hers.
Also today Megan informed me that Dave and I were lucky to have kids. I asked why and she said because we are the best Mummy and Daddy in the whole world... Still trying to see where we are lucky but thanks lol Can't be the best Mummy and Daddy without kids so I think its a two way thing!! All the girls have been good (but then they usually are) and helpful when needed. So that has helped the days go by smoothly and quickly. Only 3 to go :)

Day one almost done

Finished this layout of Jessica last night.
Waiting on an scrap order, hoped it would come today but it didn't, so I won't scrap tonight in anticipation of all the goodies I can use.
I tossed and turned most of the night, awake at 3 and 4 and said NO I WON'T GET UP AND WATCH THE SOCCER... by 5.30 I did get up. Elizabeth, Megan and then Jessica were up around 6 and Lucy not long before the final goal was scored. Funny thing was, I rang Dave to make sure he was watching (Silly me should have known he would be!). Anyway turned out the tv reception died just before the end of full time. So I relayed the details while we watched here.
The rest of the day was busy with the usual Monday washing etc. tomorrow will be just as full.

A half or one sixth of me is missing!

Took Dave to the airport this afternoon. He rang just a little while ago to say he had touched down in Brisbane, so it's nice to know he's arrived safely.
Each of the girls left messages on his phone while his was inflight so I hope that helps him thru this week of being away. Megan got upset, although the tears didn't come till we got back to the car, Jessica said that if I went she wouldn't miss me *huh!!* and Elizabeth said "I miss Daddy" every 5 minutes (even before he left) and then as the plane was leaving the tarmac she said "I don't want him to come back"... go figure!!! As for Lucy she just waved as instructed!! And me... Love you Dave :)
Not much else to share. Started a layout of Jessica last night and hoping to do a bit more tonight.

Scrapping, shopping, a party and some more scrapping

Sounds like the ideal day for some!! I finished this layout last night, used PJ (Pink Janome) on it too, and although it is super simple I really like it!!
Today we went to Big W. This week Megan has put holes in both pairs of school pants. So we needed to replace them before Monday. I also picked up a polar fleece top for Megan and Jessica, for school, they were only $17 something so was happy with that.
We then went to Erica and Phil's new house, to help Ben celebrate his 4th b'day. Our girls loved it and because it was outside Elizabeth loved playing in the dirt (as usual) and I think we came home with half their backyard!!
Just got home when Allison rang, scared the be-jeepers out of me as I was just reaching for my phone when it rang, to say her and Josiane where going to the craft fair and would I like to come.. I did ;) bought some more tape and another white pen. We called in to the scrap shop and I got some more goodies.
Home again home again jiggety jig.
Hoping to scrap and reorganise my scrap spot tonight. I'm thinking I will sit there a bit the nights Dave is gone.

Very thankful it is the weekend!!

Am tired, tired, tired... so tired I even turned down a scrap night at Allisons.
I started a layout last night, didnt' get a chance to test drive the Pink Janome, will see if I do a bit more on it tonight.
Short and sweet, night :)

Awww he's sweet

Look what Dave brought me home today!!
He is such a nice fella, although he did want to take it back when we found out it was pink ;)
The rest of the day was FILLED with grocery shopping, washing and school pickups. This afternoon I got a sit down and had a coffee with Dave and then a 5 minute flick thru my new 'Scrapbooking Memories' magazine, that arrived in the mail today. Looking forward to reading more of that tomorrow. Hoping to scrap tonight, with Dave at soccer training, might even test drive my new toy!

Ho hum wednesday :)

So instead of going to the tutor course I thought yay I can go to the parent meeting that was scheduled for the same time slot... waited around for half an hour to find out it wasn't happening because they knew people weren't going to be there hmmmmm
So we filled our day with the usual around home stuff. Megan had her after school sport so we went to that from 3-4 as well.
Completed this layout of Megan last night. Was inspired by the layout by Elsie Flannigan in the last 'Creating Keepsakes' Magazine. When I say inspired I mean it has been plauging my head since seeing it!! Loved it and Megan was impressed with the layout so I am very gratful to Elise for the wonderful creation she shared.

Too's Day

Well Dave sure had a busy day.. busy eating lol After his company breakfast they went out for lunch!!! Deary me ;)
As for me, my plans for the week have changed. Won't be going to the Literacy Tutor course tomorrow. We were told we could bring our pre-schoolers, but since then the teacher rang the school and found out that we can't. Lucy is starting the 'sook when separated' stage, so I thought we would skip the course tomorrow. As it turns out the teacher from our school has done all the training so will run the course at our school on a non-kinder day in the kindergarten area so we can have our kidlets there too.
Dave got his group certificate today, so we have downloaded the tax pack and he's attempting to start our returns. We WAY overestimated his income for the year so I'll have something extra to look forward to :) I like that I have no income but can get a tax return ;)
Last night I sewed buttons and the handles on the bags that the 3 older ones made. Jessica pulled all the cotton out of her school dress hem today so I have more sewing to do YUK!! I don't like that kind of sewing!

Home comforts

Finished the layout of Lucy last night. I tried doing what was in my head but Dave commented that it was too busy and you couldn't really see the photos. So I changed it, doodled a bit and this is the end result... Happy to have completed it :)
Today I made some pumpkin soup. Jessica, Elizabeth and I had some for lunch. Jessica started by saying she didn't like it but somehow all our bowls were clean by the time lunch was over!! Have put about 2 litres in the fridge for tomorrow night, seeing as Megan complains when she misses out! We also had roast chicken for tea (cooked 2 so we have some for sandwiches) and the carcass of 1 is on boiling for stock.
Not much else... Library tomorrow, Mum and Dad have made it to Queensland after a couple of nights with her Brother and Dave is off for his work's company breakfast. I can see why the end of financial year only happens once a year!!! Shaping up to be a busy month for him. He is off to Brisbane, for his Master's course, Sunday till Friday, then later in the month has a farewell dinner for his current boss who is leaving to go interstate...
Equally its looking busy for me too :) Wednesday I'm off to do the Literacy tutor course for school and Allison is having a scrap day/night for her birthday at the end of the month. Looking forward to helping her have a good birthday ;)

Sunshiny Sunday

But oh soooooo cold!! Spent the arvo mucking about with the girls. Jessica and Megan played a Shrek game on the PS2 for awhile, then we 'sunroomed' (which was glorious with the sun beaming in), then Dave played croquet with them. Mum gave the girls a pack she had picked up, it has Australian animals on them with a hole to hit the ball thru. Megan enjoyed it the most and they played a couple of rounds thru the house.
Dave then spent the rest of the day cooking up a storm!! He has been craving his rice pudding for a long time, so today he cooked a pot of that, an apple pie and then cooked tea of pasta and bolognaise sauce and vegies. Thank goodness for the dishwasher and thanks Dave :)
I'm going to attempt to finish my layout tonight, thanks for the nice words Anna. I have been thinking all day about what I can do so I WILL do whats in my head and that will be that!!

Friday and Saturday update

Yesterday Jessica, Elizabeth, Lucy and I went to MOPS. Lucy didn't stay in with the other 2, she has started the sook-if-left stage, but she was a wonderful little girl :) We made flower presses, got to use a drill!!, and Jessica and I have pressed the flower from her Mother's day pressy. She doesn't quite understand the 'have to wait' concept though!
While I was there Allison SMS'd to ask if I wanted to scrap at her place that night. I did, well I didn't scrap I nattered :) I'm still lacking the ability, no not really just can't think of how else to word it... I have the inspiration, I have the will power but I just can't get it out of my head into a layout... It gets stuck in their somewhere so I just end up looking at the same thing for hours! Anyway I enjoyed just waffling :) Thanks again Allison.
Today we ventured to the supermarket, bought some yummy bits for a celebratory tea (lots of nibbly bits and salad) was to say yay to Dave for this weeks achievements, and then Dave had soccer after lunch. They didn't win and I didn't like to ask the score! Is a team that is almost always in the bottom half of the ladder and last week they thrashed one of the top teams, something like 6-2, so I didn't want to bruise the ego anymore than it already was ;)
