Proud Mum Moments

Yep PLURAL!!!

This morning we stayed at school for their assembly as Jessica's class was hosting and Jessica and another girl were MCing.

Jessica told me that the other girl had all the easy words while Jessica had the hard ones ;) They both did a fantastic job and were praised for their work!!

While there we got to see the 'shining star awards'. Each week the teachers nominate someone from their class to get an award and Megan was shocked to receive one today.
It did me good to see her receive it, she needed a boost like that, and what made me even more pleased was watching Jessica's reaction. She had the hugest smile and was so proud of Megan for receiving the award you would have thought it was an Oscar!!! Megan said that Jessica was almost crying!! I love that Jessica was over the moon for her sister, love it!!!
Tomorrow we are planning, yes planning lol, to open the advent calender, go see a Christmas parade, watch a Christmas movie and turn on our outside lights. It is about now I start to sing, hope you can hear me, IT'S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS....
Thanks for visiting ;)

Right now...

This is what Jessica, Elizabeth and Lucy are doing!

Am surprised they are sitting so still but I suppose it is a treat to watch telly before bed. They all ate early tonight as Dave and Megan were going rock climbing for Guides, Dave was going to help. So we got ready for bed, read books and now they are quietly watching telly AMAZING!!

Took some photos today, love this one of Lucy but don't like the metal drum behind her... will see what I can do with that lol

Love how these 2 play together, never ceases to amaze me!

Yes Lucy is pushing Elizabeth on the swing!!

Last night I scrapped :)

and this one is for the Scrapping The Music challenge. I love it because I finally used a photo that Allison took for us in 2005 :)

I added some links to my sidebar today, so if your in need of inspiration or a colour fix go check out some of them, hope you find something you like ;)

One of those days...

where you wish Santa really did bring lumps of coal ;) But I'm not dwelling :)

Speaking of Santa, Elizabeth, Lucy and I paid him a little visit, seeing as we were in the shopping center and he arrived... Elizabeth loved it, Lucy not so much ;) But they both got lollipops.

I finished the latest challenge for my This is me journal, which was if you were stranded on a deserted island what would you take. You were going to be there long so here is my page

Journaling 'If I was stuck (I didn't have enough stickers for stranded) on a deserted island... all I would want is a hammock to hang between the palm trees. Then I would lie back, relax, soak in the quiet and await my rescue'

And before I go here is the 'annual' photo of our tree topping Barbie angel. I dressed her when Megan was little and we have had her since. I often want to get something different but here she is again :)

Can't think of much else so thanks for visiting :)

29 sleeps

That is what Grandma informed me on messenger this morning, before running away with a quick bye!! Thanks Grandma, you beat me ;)
So Dave is back outside 'lighting' again. Here he is last night up the ladder...

I can hear the ladder clunking around, bless him ;)
On a scrappy note, a new blog has started up Artz De Scrap for those who like to alter things, which isn't me but I love the inspiration that the blog is creating, all the best Liza and Wati :) They are looking for design team members so why not go over and check it out :)

Thats me for now, thanks for visiting :)

A scrap night and a family day...

So last night I went to Josianes for a scrap night with her and Allison. Twas fun, as usual, Josiane made a delish pizza and I even completed these!!

This one of our new 'not-real' Christmas Tree.

This one of Sydney.

This one was for the challenge at Scrapping the Music, but I think I was a little too late for that one.

And this one is for the challenge over at Scrap Mojo, where you had to create a layout about 'thankful' and use the distress technique, which I did on the edges of the paper and photos and I inked the Pattern Paper.

Today we have been out to Church and then to Dave's work Family Christmas BBQ. Was fun and the girls enjoyed themselves.

Dave is outside right now making a start on the outside lights, slowly making progress ;)

Thanks for visiting and hope your weekend has been a lovely one :)

Hold on to your hats...

A little bit of a photo overload, but I think its going to be worth your time :)
So today was a student free and Daddy home day. So Dave made a HUGE start on the Christmas decorating.

Unpacking our new 'non-living' tree.

Is our first year of having one and it was relatively pain free :)

So the poor naked tree just couldn't wait to be dressed and dressed it was!

Until it looked positively smashing!

So now we have lights in the lounge room, in the dining room, the hallway and even the bathroom!!!!

And he hasn't even started outside yet!!

So while Dave had the girls entertained this is what I did.

Meet Sunshine who is now best friends with Elizabeth

Sunshine was made from an old polar fleece vest that I was going to toss, her apron is part of an old bib and she even has some American Craft flowers that look lovely :)

And Cat-a-pat who was requested by Lucy.

Cat-a-pat was created from a pair of cord pants that the elastic had worn out, legs, arms and tail are from a pair of school pants that had holes and ears and eyes are from the same bib as used in Sunshine. Love this type of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!!! Both of them were pretty easy to make and were all free-handed... Glad I am not a perfectionist ;) This is the first time I have made anything like this and I really want to make something for our niece who has a birthday next month, want to make something different and funky for a 9 year old so now I have made a start at 'practicing'. Megan and Jessica have put in their requests so they will be next ;)

Ok to finish this montage of photos here is a layout I created last night for the One Little Word Challenge. The word was 'full'. I had heaps of ideas but when I went to do it this one just worked well and all those that know Elizabeth will be nodding saying YES!!! The larger photo was taken by my Mum one time when the girls stayed there.

Well I hope you stayed awake to the end and enjoyed all the goings on at our place :)

Scrapping by fairy light...

That's what I am going to do tonight!!! Dave has started preparing for Christmas and the first lot of lights he has decided to go up are right there above the trestle table!! How Christmassy!!!
The girls enjoyed watching this Father Christmas, the first thing to be pulled out.

Roll on the next 4 and a bit weeks!!!!

Student free day tomorrow YAY and Dave has taken a day off so we will be doing some more setting up and who knows what else! Love days off :)

Hope you have a super day and thanks for visiting.

Some Toilet woes and some layouts :)

Have to share the toilet woes of the day as they were a plenty and funny!!

1. I was on the toilet when the smoke detector started beeping. I rush out to find that Lucy had switched the hallway heater on and the hallway stank of heated dust!

2. I was on the toilet, yes I go often, when I hear Lucy in the kitchen rustling a bag. I call out "Don't touch it" rustle rustle "Don't touch that" then I hear her call back "I touched it"!!!

3. Elizabeth informs me that Lucy has done a poo. I asked Lucy if she has finished, her reply "No I am singing"??!!!!

Hmmmm!!!
Today has been ummm interesting, but I distracted myself by passing by my scrap stuff and doing a little at a time to complete:

And also the latest This Is Me Journal challenge, to do a page on what makes you cry.

Journaling around the heart says:

'giving, receiving, missing, wanting, sacrificing, learning, yearning, imparting, forgiving, forgetting, growing, believing, seeing, trusting, belonging, sharing. Love makes me cry'

Hope your Wednesday has been kind. I was meant to do the grocery shopping tonight, between dropping off/picking up Megan from Guides, but the pay hadn't gone into the bank so its put off for another day :)

Just a glimpse into the day we have had! How was yours???

Short post I know but thanks for visiting

**Edit** Don't you love colloquialisms! lol Tea is dinner, ie evening meal :) The salad was yummy as always ;)

Summer is on it's way!!

It has been HOT today. Lots of running around, post office, bank, fruit shop, supermarket, to school again because Jessica left her home reader AND her school hat at home and then this afternoon we had pre-kinder at the 'other school'. we told the girls tonight that they would be changing schools. It went as expected so at least this initial stage is over, now to see what follows!!!!

Lucy and Elizabeth had sleeps for me today!! YES I WAS AMAZED TOO but not surprised as they are all very tired girls! Dave surprised us by coming home for lunch, which woke Elizabeth, as he had forgotten to take his bag with all his work from Sydney. Was nice to see him :)
Ok on to Sydney. The Thursday and Friday Dave had work stuff all day so I walked around looking at shops. Everything was expensive and there was much found to cross of the Christmas list. My sneakers gave me a few blisters so I went and bought some sandals which made my feet cooler but gave me new blisters lol!!

This picture is of my friend the monorail!! After walking around ALL of Thursday morning, and I covered ALOT of territory, I bought a day ticket for the monorail and enjoyed zooming around everywhere instead of walking!

This picture is of Cockle Bay in Darling Harbour. We walked along here to meet a coworker of Dave's for tea on Thursday night.

Friday night we caught a train out to have dinner with Dave's Aunt and Uncle who had also invited his cousin and her husband and then later another of Dave's cousin came after he finished work. Was a fun time :)

Saturday morning we caught a bus out to a shopping centre that had some factory outlets. Not many bargains there either.

Caught the bus back in and had a quick lunch before going to see Respect The Musical starring Ronda Birchmore! I was sitting there pinching myself! The play was excellent and the cast JUST AMAZING!! Loved it all!!!

Saturday afternoon we caught a train which ended up being a bus (thanks Sydney rail lol) and went down to Circular Quay and then walked around The Rocks, taking in the Opera House and walking under the bridge.

Spied Hugo Weaving as we walked around and there were a zillion weddings around the place for photos and receptions!! We had tea in China Town before taking a final tour courtesy of my friend the monorail.

Sunday morning we were up early to check out, catch a taxi to the airport, have breakfast and buy a little gift for the girls before catching our plane home. The girls were excited to see us and VERY tired, hence Elizabeth and Lucy needing a sleep today!! So yes had a lovely time away but tired and glad to be home with our girls :)

Thanks to those that stopped by while I was away. Will be drawing a RAK winner tomorrow :) So, as always, thanks for visiting :)

1 lot of zzzzz's to go!!

then I'm leaving on a jet plane!!

Today we went to see my 'super-man'. I still haven't got my superannuation in order so had another appointment to deal with the mess!

Then Elizabeth, Lucy and I called in and had morning tea with Dave, NICE.

Not much else to say about the day. Still feeling icky but not as bad as I thought I might!

My lovely girl has been leaving comments on my blog while at school, HELLO MEGAN! She was also my 7000th visitor, I kid you not! So while I am away EVERYONE who leaves a comment will be in the running to win a RAK. What will it be??? no idea!! While in Sydney I will find something to send a lucky lil' ducky.
So have fun, be safe and will be back soon :)
As always, thanks for visiting :0)

attttt CHOOOOO

and bless you :)
Lots of sneezes happening, yep still icky.
Today has been busy. 2 loads of washing, 2 girls dropped of at school, grocery shopping, talked to Grandma on msn, talked to Dave on email and 2 cups of coffee ALL BEFORE 9.30am!! I was impressed ;)
Other than that, Elizabeth had pre-kinder this afternoon (the one where she stays by herself), Lucy and I went to the library but came home early to change a stinky nappy and Dave picked up the 'school girls' and came home early for a coffee :)
Nice day filled nicely I think :)
Hope your day was nice too :) Thanks for visiting.

if I was a horse

they would tell me to stay home!! I have a cold and feeling ick.

I had a nap today and woke feeling awful but thankful for the chance to sleep! Lucy was awake through the night, not sure whats going on there!!

3 sleeps and REALLY counting down now!!

Last night was fun. Dave did the BBQ thing and we had a yummy tea.

Today was warm and sunny, signs that YES summer is on it's way and not holding back!

I have completed another 2 pages in my This Is Me Journal
This challenge was to journal about Reality TV

And this one was about 2008

Here is the last of the photos of the growing pets. They are all out and I don't think they get much bigger than this.

Dave took some photos of me today

Also found out about Doodle4Google today. The son of a friend entered and I have to say his page is FANTASTIC!!! So check out the Grade 1-3 and Tasmania's entry by Clayton.. Don't forget to vote ;)

Thanks for visiting and hope the new week is wonderful :)

Guests for tea

in the form of my parents, sister and nieces. So blogging early, while I can :)
Scrapped these 2 layouts, using some of my new stash :)

This is today's photo of the 'growing pets'. Since then I have taken the eggs away and the 'pets' are now in a larger container.

For those looking for info about the eggs I did a google for 'growing pet egg' and found them here and also found some selling on ebay :) Happy hatching if you get some :)
Today we have been busy. Dave took Elizabeth and Lucy to do 'carpark' duty for the woman's conference our Church helps organise. Dave was there last night too and the girls had fun helping. I took Megan and Jessica and we went and got some photos printed and then went shopping to find me some pants. We had a look around and then they had a babychino and I a coffee while we waited for Dave to arrive and me to try some pants on and finally purchase some! We then took the girls to McDonald's for a ice cream cone each before coming home for lunch. As we sat down Mum rang and we organised them to come for tea. So after lunch we went back out again to get more food for tea and some petrol for the lawn mower, which is what Dave is doing right now.
Hope your weekend has started out a-ok :)
Take care and thanks for visiting.

Creatures, company, comments and a dream??!!

Will start with the creatures!! They have started to hatch!! Here is photo taken at 8.30 this morning

And this one when they had been in the water for 24 hours.

Megan has a dinosaur, Jessica a crocodile while Elizabeth and Lucy have snakes.
Today Allison came to visit with 4 of her Day care kids. Was nice to have them here and it filled our day just beautifully :) Thank you Allison :)
While Elizabeth, Lucy and I were at the fruit shop this morning, rushing around before our visitors arrived, a lady came over and said how it was lovely to see such wonderfully behaved children. It reminded her of when hers were younger. How nice!! I told her yes they were good and we were very proud of our girls ;0)
Ok and on to my dream... I don't usually dream and often forget them quickly. But this morning I had one and I woke Dave to tell him. He and I were in a taxi on the way to the airport for a trip to England!!?? Anyway we were driving along when I realised that my passport was out of date... by over 10 years lol... So I said no i can't go because they would put me in jail and that Dave would have to go by himself... which is what happened. So I woke then and woke Dave to tell him how bizarre the dream had been. I then went on to say that I didn't panic at all through the dream, I had a solution for all the problems and that now I was awake and could place logic in my head I didn't get the whole passport thing because I would need a current one for visas so how silly was the dream!! Then wondered if it was because I now have to travel on the plane to Sydney by myself, but I'm not worried about that... seeing as I have travelled around the world that way lol!! although that was a long time ago... who knows what my mind is thinking!!!!!
Ok enough of my dribble, hope your weekend goes well. We are going shopping for a pair of pants for me tomorrow, yay... NOT lol
Take care and thanks for visiting :)

6 Sleeps!!

Soooo much to share so will share by photos :)

Elizabeth made this at play group yesterday... Mr Potato Head :)

Had fun at Dad's birthday. Here is Poppy with all his Grandkids, although I say he can only use the phrase Granddaughters...

Today I was blessed with mail!! Cool mail... scrapping mail!!! I received my purchases from Sis-TV (very yummy) and my OH MY I LOVE THIS prize from Red Velvet that I won from Scrap Mojo. Elizabeth and Lucy had the honour of undoing the boxes for me :)

Last night my sister gave each of the girls a 'growing pet'. It is an egg that you put in water and a creature hatches and grows. Megan has wanted one for a long time so it was a great gift.

So now all four are sitting in their jars waiting to hatch. Will be taking photos every day to show their progress :)

Think thats about it :)
