Not much to share, picked up Elizabeth and Lucy and left Megan at Mum and Dad's. Called in to see Allison on the way home, thanks as always Allison. Dave wasn't meant to be home till late so he was going to get our tea. In the end he was home only a little later than normal so he got tea for us girls, yay to not having to cook :)

Today I...

Took the girls to see 'Flushed Away' at the movies. Great movie, enjoyed it and the girls loved it. Jessica also loved the pop corn! It was the first time she has been to the movies and she didn't like sitting lol. She is funny when it comes to movies. Picks up quotes really easily, so tonight at tea her and Megan were reciting lines from the movie, wish they could do that without having to pay $9 each lol
Before we went to the movies we went and dropped off their disposable cameras for developing. So after the movie we had KFC for lunch and then picked up their photos, the afternoon was spent scrapping some of them. Some of the photos were taken today, to finish off Jessica's camera that she got Christmas 2005.
Here are Megan's layouts

And Jessica's, this was the first time she 'scrapped' scrapped, but with a little help you could see she was getting it and she did most of it all by herself.

And here is the one I did lastnight. One of the things I love about it is that the photos were taken yesterday and I scrapped it that day too. I love it when I can do that. Means I don't have to think of it for weeks, or months, before I scrap it and it is all done and gone straight away!

Picking up Lucy and Elizabeth tomorrow, leaving Megan for her 'holiday at Poppy's house' and calling in to see Allison on the way home.
Today I also received my first batch of lollies from www.sweetcollect.com for clicking on emails from time to time. Worth joining if you don't mind a few extra emails every now and then! You just have to wait till you have 25 or more lollies before they send them. Here is what we got today.

Another Full day

Lots of busy-e-ness again today. Dress ups, a wedding, tea partys, hiding in the dark and a trip to the fruit shop just to name a few!!!
Here is bride Megan!

Love this photo of Lucy and Jessica. Not often I get a good one with everyone looking so good. It was in the hallway, dark and no idea if they were even looking at the camera, gotta be happy about that!!!

Elizabeth drew this picture of Daddy, he is grumpy lol. I just loved the drawing and took photos of it and hope to scrap that sometime in the future!

Finished my layout lastnight, was for challenge 11, to use a single colour. So this is my 'red' layout of Miss Elizabeth.

Elizabeth and Lucy are at Mum and Dad's for the next 2 nights. Tomorrow I am hoping to take Megan and Jessica to the movies and possible do some scrapbooking with them in the afternoon. At the moment they are watching a DVD, the one of Dave's work play Aladdin, with Dave.

Sunny feeling type of Sunday :)

It hasn't been to warm, even have the heater going, but it has been a lovely day which sort of leaves you feeling sunny on the inside!
Last night I finished the layout for Challenge number 10. It was to use no words, it freaked Allison and Mel out no end, but here is mine and hoping to start challenge 11 tonight.

Today we had Bron and Murray come for a visit. Was lovely to see them and meet Murray for the first time, I bet he was wondering if we even existed lol. Found out they are off to Indonesia, next month, to finish off the mission work he was doing. So she will be out of the country for a while again, but hoping to go visit her next week. Was just great having them visit!
Yesterday Elizabeth and I shared our first nectarine and tonight the fruit bowl is full of every fruit we have growing! Apricots, nectarines, peacharines and greengages. Not many apricots left now though. Spose it will be autumn soon and the apples will be ready, looking forward to the apple pies!!

Lamb, layouts, some laying about and lotsa photos!

We had a very scrummy roast lamb for tea tonight. The girls had chocolate pudding for dessert, it was left over from last night when Dave made it with the girls while I was at Mel's scrapbooking.
Had a lovely (and fun) time at Mel's where our challenges continued and we had Angela join the ummm journey lol. We started with Allison's challenge (number 8) to scrap without using bazzil or kraft (the cardstock we usually use for everything). So here is my layout, of Elizabeth, for challenge no. 8

Mel set the next challenge, which was to write/journal/have your title on your photo.
So here is my layout for challenge no.9

The words surrounding Jessica are the lyrics for Bob the builder. She was wearing her bob overalls when this photo was taken December 2003.

Today has been a nice mix. We went out browsing shops this morning, got Jessica some new sneakers for school and Jade, our nephew, a birthday pressy. His birthday is tomorrow so its going to be late seeing as we have yet to mail it!! Megan entertained us with some magic (see photos of her disappearing act) followed by a circus act with 'Lion Jessica'. Then Jessica had fun posing in dress ups! The rest of us just enjoyed the time watching, nuggling and mucking about!

Feeling like Friday NOW!!

Yes it does, so glad for the long weekend and thankful the day is done ;)
So what's happened today:
*picked more apricots
*froze more apricots
*stewed more apricots
*ate some apricot jam
*the girls played together heaps today, sometimes good and sometimes not so
*Allison came to visit with 2 kids
*Allison got me a copy of 'Creating Keepsakes', Thanks Allison!
*Allison left, was great to have you visit and although the time was ummmm interesting it was nice to have visitors!
*Devilled sausages for tea
*Dave invented the 'sausage duck' and asked Elizabeth and Lucy to find it, sadly the experession has lasted all day and I have no doubt is going to stick!
*nothing else I can think of!

Tomorrow arvo I am off to Mel's for a scrap with her and Allison. Looking forward to it! Allison has set the next challenge and I am not looking forward to that, but have a few ideas, so hoping to get it out of the way quickly!!
Talk to you all Saturday, Happy Australia day to all, may it be a safe and fun day :)

Scrap it Baby!!

I haven't scrapped anything but Megan did 3 layouts last night and was very happy with the results.

Yesterday was a busy one, fruit shop, supermarket to get some sugar, made 2 lots of jam, froze some more apricots, washing, etc, etc.
Today we are going to pick Jessica up, yay, and call in to see Allison again. The girls are busy busy so thought I would just nip in here and update before I get in trouble from Megan for not having her layouts on my blog!
PS: Hi Angela, thanks for visiting and you bet it's ok lol thanks for leaving a comment.

3/4 here

Jessica has stayed over at Mum and Dad's and we will go back on Wednesday to get her. Been a busy day, washing, picking apricots that are splitting because of the rain and humidity, cleaning and then I went to Mum and Dads. Had lunch there and then we went to visit Allison for a little bit before coming home. They are all a little zonked and it is quiet already.
Last night I did this layout of Jessica before I packed up my scrap stuff to nuggle and watch the end of the cricket. Didn't know what else to add to it but love it just as it is. Still waiting for Allison to set Challenge #8 but Megan and I are going to do some scrapping tomorrow night, she has been asking all School holidays.

While the cat(s) are away...

What busy people we have been! I thought I would start this now, about to go have tea, as it's going to take quite awhile to load all the photos!
Yesterday we dropped the girls off at Mum and Dad's and headed in to town. We were hoping to go to the movies but the one we wanted to see was cancelled, they had broken it or something, so after a walk around and a little shopping at Spotlight we ended up here for tea and oh my goodness the food was yum-diddly-scrumptous! I had the Bali Duck and Dave had the chicken breast, yummmmmm.
Came home and watched a DVD we had borrowed from Mum and Dad 'Kenny'. Can see why he won awards, so genuine! Love how they dropped morals or helpful 'life skills' into the movie, oh so subtle.
This morning I was woken, at 8am, by a pigeon cooing somewhere outside and then the LOUD sound of rain. We had more rain this afternoon as part of a very LOUD thunderstorm, but its great having the rain, it has been way too muggy! Dave got up made a coffee and we drank that while watching 'Weekend Sunrise' (didn't even know Sunrise was on on the weekend!). Did some time on the exercise bike then had a shower. By the time I was dressed Dave had set the tressel table up. So after some brekky I started scrapping. Mel had set a new challenge, to use 4 or more photos, so I made a start. I had started 2 by the time it was lunchtime. Dave and I went down to the shopping centre, had some lunch, did some shopping, got some steak for tea, some CDs and a pressy each for the girls (a t-shirt each for Elizabeth and Lucy, a t-shirt/skirt set for Megan and some needed socks for Jessica) and a pair of sandle/thong things for me ($10!!). Came home and started scrapping again. Dave has been playing computer games all day, a game he has had for ages and pulled out again (reading the manuels this time!).
So we all finished the challenge Mel set and it was my turn to set the new one, to use 'The story about...' as the start of our title or journal. I finished that one before starting tea, which we have just had in front of the cricket on telly. I am thankful that I have been able to have all my scrap stuff out and just flow from one layout to another, while being inspired for the next. I did 2 for Mel's 4 or more challenge and I have included closer photos so you can see the dimensional paint I got at Spotlight, have wanted some for awhile and it's been fun seeing how it works and I look forward to using it again. Don't forget to go have a squizz at the layouts Mel and Allison have done for the challenges, divine! So here, without any more of my babble, are my layouts, Love Notes from my Man, Hungry Hungry Hippos and The story about our bed.

Active Nest

Well, we just finished lunch and it has been a rather busy and active time already!
Lastnight I started on the next layout challenge, set by Allison this time, to use mostly material in a layout. I have been wanting to use felt for ages now so went exploring the girls craft supplies and pulled out all the felt, that wasn't already drawn on! This was the layout that I ended up with, finished the stitching today and looking forward to the next challenge.

This morning Lucy and Elizabeth were up before 6.30am so the day started. I got to have 15 minutes on the exercise bike, which was great as I burned up more calories quicker today as I had the bike's tension tighter. We all went for a walk to the shop to buy the paper and a little later I went to the craft shop and the scrap shop to get some odds and ends. This afternoon, after Lucy wakes, we are going to Mum and Dad's and the girls are staying over till Monday. Not sure what Dave and I will end up doing tonight, possibly dinner and a movie. Hoping to get some scrapping done tomorrow, wow scrapping in the day at home! Who'd have thought!!

Fun Friday

Well, as fun as it gets entertaining 4 girls at home, but it wasn't too bad lol

We:
*went for a walk around the block
*played in the sunroom
*played outside
*got wet
*ate apricots
*talked with our neighbours
*neighbours gave the girls some 2c and 1c coins and 2 books (they had a clean out of his Fathers house and found lots of 'treasures')
*Dave came home before 3pm
*had coffee with Dave
*watched some cricket
I took some photos of Lucy and Elizabeth playing picnics today. I love how they play together. None of the others play as nicely as what these 2 do and its heartwarming to watch!

Hodge Podge

Didn't know what to call the post so seeing as its a bit of this and that... Hodge Podge it is!
We had a lovely time at Mum and Dad's last night. We all went for a walk after tea, fed the cows, got slobbered on by the cows, tried to catch some tadpoles in the dam, caught bugs and other creatures in the dam but no taddys. Took some photos, tried to get all 5 grandkidlets but it wasn't to be! Ended up with these 2 nice ones, 1 of Makayla and 1 of Lucy.

Today we went and took Dave out for lunch. We went to the Pizza Hut for all you can eat. The girls loved it!
I have just got back from the grocery shopping, Dave and I unpacked then I jumped in the shower but am still all hot and sweaty. Don't like this humid/muggy weather at all!!!
I hope Grandma and Grandpa enjoyed their trip over and you both arrived home safely, we have been thinking of you and I am sure will be talking to you soon. They came over to Launceston for a celebration dinner in honour of Grandma's Mother (also known as Grandma or Granny to our girls), who is turning 80 next month. Her 3 children and their partners all got together and took her and Grandpa out for dinner. Lovely :)

A visit and a visitor

well 2 visitors actually! Loretta and Makayla dropped in for a visit, the girls didn't need any excuse to be hyped up as they were already there! We had been out in the backyard this morning, I was squirting them with the hose, when the phone rang. Was Loretta disorintated and needing directions. I think they both enjoyed their visit and Makayla didn't leave with any scars from the manhandling she got from our girls! Took a couple of piccys while she sat next to Lucy. Hoping to take a few more photos tonight as we are going to Mum and Dad's for tea as Loretta heads back up to Darwin Friday.

Circles

That was the challenge I set for our little challenge group. So last night I started and blow me down I completed 2 layouts!! The first was of my much loved cup that was broken probably 2 years ago. I loved that cup lol. I was chatting to Dave and somehow the conversation spurred my brain into thinking about my long lost friend and I knew I had a photo of it soooooooo scrap it I did! Why you might ask... Well, for me coffee is an important part of my day and this cup spoke so much about coffee, maybe because it was a Nescafe one??!! And it truly was a great cup to drink from, just the right shape for holding, just the right texture for drinking and well basically it was wonderful! One of a set of 4, of which none are around any longer, and all free with the Nescafe Beans promotion, that I wish they would bring back! The other layout is of Davie Babes cos I love him :) So now waiting on Allison and Mel to catch up (hee hee) to see what the next challenge will be, looking forward to it with slight trepidation!

Today has been hot, as it has everywhere, flicking through the channels on telly I saw on the Ten news that it was still 39 degrees in Melbourne right now ICK. Thankful for the Tasmanian summer but it is still too hot!! So the girls and I spent the day indoors. Reading, playing boardgames, watching telly, mucking about etc. They got to have some stewed apricots and icecream for pudding tonight too. We are about to head in to the 'too many apricots' phase and so I chopped up the ones we had inside, to freeze, to make room for the next lot. Nope not sick of them yet but I did notice that the peacharines were riping up and shhhhh Lucy and I shared a greengage yesterday, it was a small one but the others are still a little way off being ready, oh and then there are the 2 nectarine trees!!

always ready to take on a challenge

Allison and Mel have started doing some challenges to complete layouts. I felt a little left out (hee hee) so asked to join the fun. They were up to their 2nd challenge, to complete a layout with a photo of yourself, but seeing as I had just done that, Mel set the next one, to use orange. So here is what I completed last night. Its my turn to set the next challenge and I'm about to do so, is something I have been wanting to do for awhile and been putting off so nows my chance ;)

Today Allison came to visit with 3 day care kids, was a fun time although a little loud at times! Dave came home for lunch, nice as always, no time for nuggles OR mauling (see his comment left for yesterday's post!!!).

And a sunny Sunday

Bit more nuggling today, just had to add that for Grandma who thinks we are cute, or at least that is what I am told you thought!
Our day.... Vegging with the cricket, picking some apricots, a spot of gardening and the usual mucking about. Will leave you with photos of the 4 kidlets doing what they do :) Jessica just being herself and giving a wonderful photo as usual, Elizabeth running away from the camera laughing while Dave tries to hold her back, Lucy sooking that the camera is out AGAIN and Megan chilling with a beloved Asterix book.

Sunny Saturday

Been a busy kind of day but have had time for a few nuggles with Dave :)
Lastnight I completed this layout. Is the first containing a photo of me, if you don't count the one I did of my shoes, it's about how I need to just do things. I'm hoping its a motivation to just get on and scrap, but it doesn't feel like its worked lol. Dave has always said I should 'just do it' so the layout is a reminder that I can just do it if I get on and do it.

This morning the girls were up at 6.15am Dave got up with them and I was naughty and rolled over and went back to sleep! Once I was up we both had turns on the exercise bike and I was very proud of myself, and thankful to Dave for giving me the time to do it, I did over 15 minutes on the bike. First time I have, usually I just fit in a few 5 minute rides, but because I was given the space I could do more, yay me!!
After I was dressed etc Allison arrived with Mel, Fi and Fi's daughter Sam. We went out to a scrap shop about 10-15 mins away from here. They all got some goodies while I did my sooky thing, there wasn't anything I liked, and just spent $4 on some cardstock.
The rest of the day was spent lounging around home before going to Mum and Dad's for tea with my sister and niece. We all enjoyed ourselves and it was good to see them both. Makayla hasn't changed much just got taller, her and Lucy are 6 months apart and enjoyed walking around together. Found out that my sister is engaged and expecting baby no.2 around June. So lots to look forward to.

Phew we made it through Friday!

We went to the libary at 9am, to find it didn't open till half past. The girls were then given a kids holiday pack so we took them back to the car before going to the supermarket. The girls have been asking me to make pizza so we went and got some bits for that before heading to meet Allison. She was out at a park with her sister and a group of her sisters friends and their kids. So we went and had a play too. We stayed about an hour before heading back home. They all seemed to enjoy themselves and were very busy.
As I was getting the pizzas ready the doorbell rang and I was very surprised when I opened it to find Dave's Aunty Heather standing there! Her and Uncle Dale were over from Sydney and on their way back up to Launceston to stay with Grandma and Grandpa (Dave's Grandparents and thus Heather's Mum and Dad). They are over for a holiday and for an early 80th birthday celebration for Grandma. So Dave's Mum is over for a night next week for that too. The girls were very ummmmmmmm entertaining while they were here! And after they left we had our yummy pizzas.

A not-a-bad-type-of-Thursday

The girls had 2 lots of fun outside in the paddling pool. We went out after morning tea and then later in the afternoon. I set up the little clam shell paddling pools in the shade of the apricot tree and they all loved it. Photos below, love the one of Elizabeth flicking her hair and I think the one of Megan is the most natural one I have taken of her, love it.

Today we also had a visit from Bron. It was great to see her again, hadn't seen her for months, and even better to sit and yack for a bit. The girls went a little feral but seeing as we were inside avoiding the heat there wasn't anywhere to hide from that!! Hoping to see Bron again next week, will see what happens with that.

Tomorrow we are venturing to the library to return our books, so we might see what else we can find to do out and about. The holidays seem to be slipping by quickly, only 4 and a bit weeks left till they go back to school :(

Loretta and Makalya arrive tomorrow too for a week with Mum and Dad before heading back to Darwin, hope to see them sometime, not sure when.

PS my bumble bites are still sore and the big welt is nice and red, Jessica is still complaining about her bite too, which is also still red and lumpy.
