One more day

and then it is school holidays YAYAYAYAYAY AND Dave will be on holidays for 2 weeks YAYAYAYAYAYAY and it will be 2 sleeps till Jessica turns 6 YAYAYAY

Ok not much to tell... playgoup today we had a puppet play, 3 Billy goats Gruff. Was good, sore butt from sitting on the bench...

Started this layout last night. Wasn't going to scrap but the inspiration hit me so I started it and completed it just now before jumping online. It has been inspired by this wonderful blog!

Mad Monday!!

been a busy day

I finally finished this remote control holder that I started MONTHS ago!! The paint just wouldn't go on right so today I did another coat of red and gave up and tried my favourite 'blue' and it worked, even with the red showing thru, I think it looks good!!

Congrats to all the winners in the One Little Word Challenge but YAY to Janine Kaye on her win! I think its awesome to see an Aussie up there! And as promised, layouts that I completed Saturday night with Allison.

Have I created monsters...

Of the scrapping variety!!??

Yesterday all 4 girls wanted to read some of my old magazines (and although it looks like I might have read some of the new For Keeps... I HAVE YET TO READ ANY, well other than Capri's article which I thought was too exciting not to read!!)

Then when Megan and Jessica had a 'scrap session' Elizabeth and Lucy wanted in on the action

So these are Megan's creations

I have to say that the biggest thing I have learnt is that it is hard to scrap with 4 or even 3 of them at one go and that creativity can't be forced. There just wasn't enough of me (or helper Dave) to answer all the questions, help out and make sure everybody was busy. But it was great to see them enjoy the process and be proud of what the created.

Allison came for tea and I also created 4 layouts which I will upload tomorrow so you have time to enjoy the delights that our girls made :)

Where has this sunshine come from??

It's almost 12pm and we have windows and the back door open and it is still warm inside!! Next weekend it will be winter and it is NOT meant to be like this!! Still I am NOT complaining, it's great! Just my type of weather actually!! The girls are in the lounge room, with the car mat and Dave's bucket of cars having way too much fun (OH THE NOISE!!)

Yes I did get to scrap last night and here is my creation! Is my 3rd birthday layout ever, poor Lucy has none AS YET. At least I got Elizabeth's done while it was still her birthday month!!

Allison is coming for tea and a scrap and I'm hoping to pull out the table so the girls can scrap before tea, you should have seen the excitement OOZE from Megan when I told her!! So I will, possibly, have layouts galore to upload tomorrow night, just for your viewing pleasure!

May Baby's on a Jet Plane BUT I know when he will be back again!!!

well he isn't quite on it yet, an hour and a bit, but YAY!!! He is sitting in the airport, waiting, waiting, waiting... soon we will be off to get Megan and Jessica from school and then head on down to the airport to pick him up, YAY!!!

Last night I did this layout of Me :) I finished and then realised that I had done it 12x12 instead of 8.5x11, which is what I had been doing for 'our' layouts. So now I will have to find an album for this one and start filling both!!! Doh lol

Anyway I thought I would update now so I don't have to be back tonight and can spend more time with Davie Babes :) :) :)

Why clothes washing is dangerous!

Yesterday it was like a laundry mat here! Had all 3 clothes horses full even after putting 2 loads through the dryer. Any way fast forward to last night. Watching the Bill, really didn't like those 2 episodes the music they put on there was just STOOPID, ok back on topic!, busting for the loo, I get up and fly out so I don't miss to much when CRASH I run into one of the metal horse's that I put in front of another. I hit my toes then hit my face, right next to my eye OUCH OUCH OUCH. I couldn't move as I was holding my eye with one hand and the falling clothes horse with another. Dashing Dave came to the rescue and we both thought I would sport a black eye but alas my war wounds were just a minute cut right in the corner near my eye. Went to bed saying stupid, stupid, stupid lol So watchout you never know when that washing will come and bite you!!!

Howdee Tuesdee

So today:
* Allison came to visit with 3 of her day care kids, was a great visit and we all enjoyed having them THANKS ALLISON!!
* Elizabeth called out at 6.30am "Mummy... mumble mumble...Mummy... mumble mumble...". I went in and said "yes" she said "whats wrong with my voice" (she had to say it a couple of times before I figured what she said) so I quickly turned on the light thinking she had vomited. "have you been sick?" I asked "noooo whats wrong with my voice"... poor tyke has a cold :( she has spent today feeling a little forlorn while sporting a snotty nose.
* play group this afternoon was good, as always.

Dave is off to Sydney at 4.50am tomorrow, back Thursday afternoon, we will pick him up from the airport after school.
I keep forgetting to say yay to Max and Barb on Rob and Nuch's wedding on Saturday. I hope you all had a lovely day, was thinking of you all, just kept forgetting to say so on here!! Will be thinking of you all with Bek and Mike's wedding soon and hope you have a safe flight over.

Just another Manic Monday...

Sooooooo we got to school this morning all ready to do a spot of home reading with some lucky person, was talking with Megan's teacher when in comes another student to say "Amy doesn't have any bathers". Amy's house burnt down a week or so ago and the grade 3, 4 and 5s were off for learn to swim. So not to blow my own trumpet but to show you that any act of kindness is a good one, Elizabeth, Lucy and I went and bought Amy a pair of bathers and fetched a towel from home. I wrapped the bathers and stuck on a note "Swim Well Amy".
when we went back to pick the girls up this afternoon I was told, by the fashion critique of grade 3, that Amy's bathers were cool, so that made my day ;)
In other daily news Dave had a study day, locking himself away in an office room, so we got to have him come home for lunch! Love that and thanks Dave :)
Not much else.... nope can't think so I will say not much else... oh I already did... ok so just repeating myself now so it must be time to daddle off :) Hope you find a way to show someone that they are special :)

Another update

because life, love and lentils haven't allowed me to update till now...

Let's see... Friday I was tired and just couldn't be bothered crawling to the computer.

Saturday... We went to a park and who should turn up just after we got there?? Kanina, Phil, Mikayla and Kyle!! Was great to catch up with them again while the kids played. They all had a great time till we had to leave as Jessica was feeling a little ill. We thought it was because of the dizzy wizzy things that she had spent most of her time on, but it wasn't (more on that later!).

Came home and had lunch, then Dave and Elizabeth helped me pack my scrap stuff into the van and I headed to Allison's. We both went to a stampin' up party, I made a card but haven't photographed it so you will have to take my word for it. And then we went back to Allison's for some scrapping.
Around 7pm Dave rang to say Jessica had been sick so I packed my stuff and choofed off home. She threw up again around 10pm and today has been a little quiet and went to bed around 5 without tea. Hoping tomorrow is a happier day for the poor little mite.

So today was another Sunday at home. The girls all had their Thomas sets out and took over the loungeroom, Dave made biscuits with them again, this time they iced them and the rest of the day was filled with general mucking about etc etc etc

Today I also completed the layout I started at Allison's.

It is for the One Little Word Challenge. This is their first challenge and it's the word GO. I already had in mind a layout for this photo so I jumped at the chance to be a part of the first challenge.

Longing for Friday

Have felt really tired today and yesterday so looking forward to the weekend!!!

Tuesday night I scrapped a layout for the June challenge at http://thethankyoublog.blogspot.com/ Which I hope to update tomorrow night with a few hints as to what the challenge will be, so stay tuned for that!!

Wednesday we had play group, which was a VERY good way to keep me awake! This weeks topic was faces. So the girls made masks and a person. We made more of those today too.

Megan had Guides last night so I did the grocery shopping while she was there.

Today we had play group in the morning. Was our first time of going to the Thursday group and it was great to see Karen there. The rest of our day was filled with playing at home. We picked up Jessica and Dave got Megan when she had finished her after school sport. Dave is at soccer training tonight. And that my friends is that :)

Ok on to the daily grind... Allison came to visit today, ended up only being for an hour but am grateful for that hour as it was nice to hang while her kids/our kids played. Thanks Allison :)

School rang at lunchtime to say Megan had a belly ache so we went to pick her up, which meant no play group today.

Dave was home about 3.30 so we had a coffee together, and for that I am grateful too!!

And now, taking a leaf out of Lusi's blog (see side bar for link), 5 things I am thankful for today.

1. that it was only Megan who I had to go pick up from school

2. friends and time spent with them

3. DAVE and any time spent with him

4. having an outlet that allows me to create (who'd have thought I would ever say that!)

5. being able to blog and empty my brain of the things that clutter it, well some of the things!

Hope you have plenty to be thankful about today.

We've been catching bugs,

just in case you wondered why I have been quiet!

Let me explain

Saturday:

Picnic/Birthday bug:

We went to Joe and Anna's Hudson's 2nd birthday at the botanical gardens. Nice time, catching up with friends and enjoyed the sunshine.

Soccer bug:

Dave had soccer (they won 3-2) we got to see the last half after Elizabeth, Lucy and I picked up Megan and Jessica.

Visiting bug:

We visited Allison on the way to Mum and Dad's.

Belly bug:

We picked up Megan and Jessica and Megan had vomited earlier in the day, she did another when we got home around 5pm and then again about 10pm. She isn't quite 100% as yet but very glad noone else caught it.

Sunday:

Staying at home bug:

We stayed home just in case anyone else had the stomach bug.

Mother's day bug:

Had a lovely day, Lucy brought me crumpets in bed,

I was given some lovely gifts (Megan made a scoubidou, Jessica decorated a box and Dave gave me a flash drive).

We went out to Big W, just to test the flash drive and I printed out some photos YAY.

Day off Friday!!

It started at the usual time though lol which is usually 5.30-6am when Elizabeth wakes and then wakes Lucy who then wakes Megan and then Jessica by which time we are awake too from the noise.
After that the morning was just spent around home and then after Lunch we headed into town. Bought a few things before we went to meet Mum and left her with Megan and Jessica. Came home via the butcher for some very yummo sausages. Not much else really :)

gosh lots to remember...

Yesterday Megan and Jessica had cross country at school. Megan came 3rd and Jessica 4th, which I think is sooooo great! I don't ever remember even being close to 3rd or 4th lol

Jessica was tired and grumpy so Megan 'wanted her to smile'.

Elizabeth, Lucy and I went to Kanina's for lunch yesterday. I am so thankful for the invite and we all had a lovely time. The girls playing with Kyle and me getting to natter the time away with Kanina!! Thanks so VERY much Kanina! From there we went to play group in the afternoon and it was a lovely way to break up our day.

Took these photos this afternoon, Lucy was drawing and Elizabeth was counting the pencils for the camera.

Megan had guides last night so I got to do the grocery shopping between dropping and picking her up.

Today Jessica's class went to the Botanical Gardens collecting Autumn leaves (yes she is very tired tonight!). We had our last 'sound awareness group' session today and should hear from the Speech Therapist in 4 weeks about when our appointments will be for one on one for Elizabeth. Today we started on listening for the sounds at the beginning and ends of words, like the P and G in Pig etc. So we will see how we progress with those over the next 4 weeks.

Megan and Jessica were meant to have after school sport today but I picked them up after school instead. For 2 reasons, firstly they were tired but also my Dad came home today!! So they dropped in on the way home from the airport, which was after school, and they girls just went crazy!!

He had presents, of course, which they loved. Megan and Jessica are going to go stay the night tomorrow night. Dropping them off in town after Mum finishes work at 3 and going to pick them up Saturday while Dave's at soccer.

Tomorrow is a student free day, yay, and Dave is taking the day off, double YAY! So looking forward to having everyone home, for a while anyway :)

A short share

Not much else. The day was another busy-ish one, play group this arvo was a good distraction and tomorrow we are off to Kanina's for lunch. Looking forward to that :)

Ok on to our day... busy! returned a pair of slippers Mum bought for Elizabeth's birthday (right size but no way was her foot going in!), returned a game we bought yesterday with Elizabeth's birthday money (it was to go with the Interactive DVD game we got her but it wouldn't go past the 2nd level) and will be returning the newest one again tomorrow (DOH) as that didn't work properly either!!! We also did a little grocery shop and found a little boy who was lost so that gave us a talking point for the day ;)
Not much else. Tomorrow is another slightly busy day too and hope your day is full of smiles!

Just some thoughts

I have been meaning to write this for sometime but forget till I am offline!!
I was fortunate enough to have a little peek at the May packs that Allison has put together for Altogether Scrap and have to say they are all amazing and you will have to be on the ball to get one! I am hoping for one too!! Yum Scrum Dee Yum!
I was reading the April Edition of Memory Makers magazine and was really inspired by Sandra Magsamen's article 'Let the Artist in You Rule'. She talks about how we are all artists, from cake making to flower arranging, singing to scrapbooking. "Art is simply communicating in endless ways with great possibilities". I think we all have a God given potential to create it's just we seem to think that someone else can do it better. "Creativity, imagination, play, exploration and curiosity are qualities and gifts we are born with". Loved what she had to say and felt encouraged to think more about sharing my layouts with others. Will see where that leads!! You can read more about Sandra here
I was also reading Kim Archer's blog and she was talking about a conversation she had with Emily Falconbridge about being a Freestyle scrapbooker. I think that is me too. I am still evolving as a scrapbooker, I know that I know very little about it, have only been scrapping for under 2 years, I don't know many 'rules' BUT those I do know I don't follow and I enjoy the process. My motto 'Just do it'!
So there you go, just a few thoughts that I needed to get out there, I think that was all lol!

A day with Daddy

for the girls. I went this morning for my haircut, came home for a coffee and then went to visit Allison. We had a lovely time nattering and some yummo soup for lunch. Thanks Allison for letting me visit and hanging out, enjoyed it :)

Ok so I got home to find the girls had been busy with Daddy. They had used Elizabeth's new cookie cutters to create:

Megan and Jessica are currently keeping Dave entertained with yacking (and boy are they yacking lol). They are about to watch Funniest Home Video Show but its very funny listening to them!!

I did it...

we had a slower day at home. Was a good day and the sunshine warmed where the bitter wind got in!

I scrapped last night some photos I took a little while ago. Had them printed, just waiting, and then the Altogether Scrap challenge for May was to document a day. So I did :)

Today Elizabeth, Lucy and I just spent the day playing around home. Was nice :)
Tomorrow I am off for a haircut. Looking forward to that ;)
