Happy New Year

I truly hope 2008 is full of good stuff for each of you! For us we have the experience of a new school, again, to look forward to and hoping the good choice, that this is, will bring new and good consequences. We look forward to marriages, births, birthdays and seeing friends and relatives. We say goodbye to 2007 and reflect on the challenges and choices the year gave us. We look forward to 2008 in hope that it will be a healthy year and a prosperous year. I hope it is also for you.

As usual we had a 'special' dinner to celebrate the coming New Year.

Some Yum Cha and salad

Pulled some Christmas Crackers

Enjoyed our food

Watched Open Season, very funny.

Now the girls are all in bed, said 'goodnight, see you next year' *grin*

And now Dave is watching Love on telly (doco about the cirque du soleil show Love) followed by Help! and I am planning on scrapping.

Hope you have a lovely last day of 2007, thanks for visiting and see ya next year *grin*

Do you have one of these??

Someone who likes to rearrange the toilet rolls??

Quite often, almost on a daily basis the spare toilet rolls, which live on the window ledge above the toilet, get arranged. I just stack them when I put them there and have been greeted with different arrangements when I return. Well this photo is of how I found them this morning and I will take photos for the next week and post them here so you can see... Yes I do know who it is as one of our wonderful daughters has a paper fetish (she like to rip paper into little pieces) and also has a tendency to make things ummm neat or perfect. So look forward to that won't you lol

Yesterday we spent the day around home, playing lots :)

Here is Master Chef Elizabeth making you a cup of tea and lovely cake

Lucy showing me how she can hula, and she does it really well!

Elizabeth also showed me how she does it, she spins herself around and around lol

Last night Allison came over for tea and a scrap. I wouldn't have scrapped if she hadn't come so am thankful to her for that! Elizabeth got a magnifying glass for Christmas and was playing with it last night. She wouldn't let me take photos but would let Allison!!

So last night I scrapped my This Is Me page, the challenge was to be like Oprah and list your fave things of 2007, so for me that was:

Gloria Jeans Caramlatte, Love, Elsie, Lagoon paint, Lost- series 3, Monorail daypass (a lovely memento of my Sydney trip) and smiggle stuff!!

Then I scrapped this, it isn't quite how I wanted it but its scrapped now :)

I then finished off this one today

and I got to scrap this one today too.

This morning we called in to a park on the way home from Church and the girls had a lovely time playing, Lucy was in her noisy element!!! We got home, had lunch and then went outside to enjoy the sunshine. Wasn't too hot today, tomorrow is meant to be a scorcher, so we enjoyed being outside. Dave played totem tennis with Megan for a while and the rest of us just enjoyed sitting ;)

So that was our weekend. What have you been up to?? Hope it has been a happy one :)

Summertime

I know it is summer but this morning you could have been mistaken! It was a very cold start to the day, overcast and dark. We went to Bunnings Warehouse to spend a voucher we got for Christmas. We got more sprinkler attachments for the watering system. Looking back in my blog it was exactly the same day after Christmas last year that we went to Bunnings to spend a voucher to buy sprinkler stuff... never ends ;)

Not long after lunch the weather turned warm, got to 32 degrees today, and so we spent some time outside.

Eating Smarties in the shade of the apricot tree

Having to wash off ones face because of the 'smartie juice'

Relaxing on the garden swing

Hard at work making a start on the new sprinklers

Last night, when Dave put Elizabeth to bed, he asked her what she wanted for dinner tonight, she requested roast lamb and dumplings... so I roast some lamb and Dave made some golden syrup dumplings, wish fulfilled ;)

Tonight Megan and Jessica are playing computer games with Dave. He has hooked up Megan's computer, his computer and the laptop and it is funny listening to them and Megan wandering out from her room to say her men are attacking Dave or Jessica's men! Dave got to play his new game last night and I haven't heard any complaints so I think I might have chosen well??!!

Hope your day was a nice one, full of fun stuff :)

364 Sleeps...

Yes folks Christmas is over for 2007 and now the countdown is on for 2008!!! Been busy so will tell you whats been happening with some of the oodles of photos I took!

Finished making some Christmas presents on Monday, Christmas Eve day. Made this for Bron and Murray, made it light so if they go overseas, as planned, they have the option of taking it with them. Also made it so they could hang it, if they fancied ;)

Doodled the pages with lines, ready for some yummy recipes...

Made some of these
Had melted too much chocolate so covered this

Here we are all ready to go do our Christmas Eve thing. We go drop off presents to friends places, drop the present on their doorstep, knock on the door and run like mad people back to the car!!

Oh and we also go around looking at Christmas lights! Grandma this is one of the places we visited when you were over in 2003.

Home after that, notes for Father Christmas in place, as was his glass of coke and biscuits, reindeer food out on the driveway and the sacks in place in the lounge room.

Watched some Christmas carols before bed.

5am I rolled over to check the time, woke Dave in the process, realised my bladder was beckoning, got greeted with a Merry Christmas as I wandered past Megan's bedroom, little noises from other rooms but we put off getting out of bed till 6.30am.

Jessica was over the moon with her new bike, that didn't last as she declared it too big later in the day!

Elizabeth got these fun glasses from Jessica and that's a lollipop from her sack in her mouth.

Megan was also VERY happy to find a guitar from Santa, she declared it the best Christmas EVER!!
This is the pressy Dave and I got from Grandma, we used it last night when Uncle Samuel and Louise were here for dinner.

and of course it can't be Christmas without a Pavlova covered in cream and fruit!!

I got Dave a garden swing seat. Yesterday he set that up

and the girls enjoyed testing its stability ;)

we got the girls a totem tennis set, which also comes with a soccer ball that you can kick around the pole too. We had an old one before that ended up on the tip so Megan was rather happy to get a new one.

Well thats it!! Today we took the girls out shopping to spend the money they got from Dave's Grandparents. Megan bought a beanie kid, Jessica some Little Pet Shop toys, Elizabeth a tea set and Lucy a doll. Dave also spent his money and bought a DVD drive for his computer so he can now play the soccer game I got him for his PC! So all in all happy campers ;)

Oh so what did I get for Christmas.... 4 Picnic bars, 2 chomps, a clothes basket, some photo frames, calender, a top, a nightee, a box of chocolates and I can't think what else :)

Hope you had a superly special time and are still enjoying the holidays :)
Take care and thanks for visiting and wading through all those photos!!!!!!

2 Sleeps...

It's my birthday today, i'm older than yesterday.... Been singing it all day... don't know what I am singing... Well I tried to find a youtube of the song/video but with no glory but it is sung by Justine Clarke who is from Playschool fame and is a very catchy, and annoying once sang a billion times, type of song ;)

The day started at 5.30am with Lucy telling Elizabeth to get in to her own bed as she didn't want Elizabeth in her bed.

Dave and the girls gave me a paint set, complete with a table top easel, paints, brushes, knives, 2 canvases and palette but no hat... Lucy told me there as no hat... My in a beret?? hmmm lol
Dave's Grandparents and Mum and Step-dad gave me money THANK YOU, my youngest brother and girlfriend, who are over from the mainland, gave me a teddy and my Mum and Dad gave me one of these bracelets in hope to buy me beads in the future. Nice day, with BBQ lunch and cake flooded in raspberries!

Little helpers putting the raspberries on top of the cake

Yum!
Another sign of Christmas!

And tonight I didn't have to cook either... Thanks Pizza Hut ;)

Tonight we are awaiting some little people, or rather one older little person, to fall asleep as there is some elf work to be done!!!

Hope you have had a special day too, thanks for visiting :)
