Twas the coffee

I went to bed last night, sometime around 10pm, all set for sleepy byes. Closed my eyes and drifted off. Slept for maybe 30 seconds, felt like a 30 second power nap, then was awake WIDE WIDE WIDE awake until 2am! I annoyed Dave for awhile, hehehe, by saying I am awake...I am awake...... you get the idea. So got back up, got up to date with my bloglines and then went back to bed about 1.30. So glad the girls weren't here lol but I think it was the coffee Dave and I had. Mum gave me a some beans that she had bought in Cairns for me. So Dave brewed us up a cuppa, about 7 last night. Was a lovely coffee, tasted rather yum, but boy was I awake later!!!! haven't had that effect before but I don't think I will be drinking another cuppa like that so late in the day!! Let's just say I am feeling ummm a little quiet now lol

As promised here is the blog award the lovely Michelle awarded me with, "Blogging Friends Forever"

The Rules of this award are as follows:
1. I must pass the award on to five people.
2. Four must be dedicated followers of your blog.
3. One has to be someone new or recently new to your blog and live in another part of the world.
4. you must link back to whoever gave you the award.
So I would like to pass this award to...
Patricia
Gigi
Kristina
Phin
Caro
The list could go on and on though!!!

She also tagged me with a 7 strange things and 6 random facts about me.Being that I really struggle with this type of tag I am going to start typing a list and see what happens lol.
1. I don't like ironing
2. I don't like vacuuming
3. I don't mind laundry, do it at least once a day, but it amazes me that the wash basket pile seems to be bigger and bigger every time I do it
4. The digi page that was picked up at Scrapblog was my first ever digi page
5. I was going to have a break from scrapping while we were away but the My Sweet Spuds kit has some cool papers in it that have inspired me to make a holiday journal, so might be making that to take away with us
6. only 7 sleeps to go till we go away, this time next Sunday we will be there!! YAY
7. I didn't get out of bed till 10am this morning!!
8. Go check out what Miss Mel is doing, she is organising a very cool swap that I would love to take part in but have told myself no, being I just don't have time to get it all together lol

I scrapped my One Little Word page today. The word prompt was choose and after watching Dave's soccer game yesterday I knew what I wanted to do

Yep on so many levels I am different. I am different to my family, different to my friends and I believe that above all that I am called to be different in the way I live and the choices I make. So I made this page because its true :) Made this page using more bits from the My Sweet Spuds kit.

The new week is going to be a full and hectic one. Mum and Dad fly back up to Townsville on Thursday, so they are coming to stay Wednesday so we can take them to the airport first thing Thursday morning. Elizabeth has a speech therapy session, library books need returning, Jessica has swimming, Elizabeth and Lucy have child health clinic appointments and I am sure there is other things I am missing from this week. But the best thing of all.. tomorrow is the first of spring and it is also 12 years since Dave and I became Dave and I. 12 years since our first kiss, which I always get in trouble for talking about hehehe. 12 years since we took the next step in our friendship. LOVE YOU DAVE :)

The best game ever...

Is what Megan declared after their soccer game this morning!! They finally earned a point, yep the game was a draw, nil all, and you could have been fooled into thinking they had won it 38-0!! They were over the moon, to the extent where the other team said 'you only got a draw you didn't win or anything'!! Megan was thrilled and kept saying 'I didn't let any in'!! So glad they ended the season on a high note!! They all signed a card for Dave and it was fun to watch them all at the end of the game. We will have a get together next term as the trophies etc won't be ready to pick up from the roster organiser till mid September.
From there we went to Mum and Dad's and dropped all the girls off for the night. We then went and got some lunch and Dave and I had a walk along a beach before we went to Dave's soccer game. It was his last for the season but it was also the last for him with that club. He has been with the same club for the last 10 year, veteran lol, and has been wanting a change for quite a few years so we will see what happens next year.
Yesterday I made my Scrap Mojo Page. The challenge, number 20, was to use glitter and a title from the School House Rocks collection. So I chose the '3 is a magic number' title and changed it to 3 is magic, as it was appropriate, and created this

Journaling "3 is a very trying age. An age where limits are tested and new boundaries are set. You have pushed and tested but you know what? I still love ya! Love watching all these new things and seeing what happens next"
**Edit to add** The Aug Sticker, the journal block and the rubons were all part of the My Sweet Spuds kit, I finally cracked it open for a play. Looking forward to more of that lol. I used glimmer mist and Kindy Glitz for the glitter.

Something else that was pretty cool... I had an email waiting from RebeccaJ at Scrapblog. It told me to check this out...

"Congratulations! You have been featured this week in our "Friday Five." Your beautiful scrapblog was chosen from the thousands created everyday as one of the BEST!. Visit the blog to see your name in lights!RebeccaScrapbook Community Manager"

I did and it made me grin... A BIG grin lol

Michelle has given me a blog award, but I will post that tomorrow :) am off now to put my feet up :)

You feeling lucky??

Three posts in one day!!!

Just had to post about our day, seeing as the other posts where ummm housework lol

Today was another bike and bubble day with some baking thrown in.

But the day started with fairies... Today was 'F' Day at school. It was free dress with a 'f' theme and the kids had to take along something for the Father's Day stall, hence the f lol. So Megan and Jessica decided, after looooong deliberation, that they would go as Fairies.

Last night Dave and I were talking about Elizabeth mastering the bike yesterday and Dave said that Lucy might be able to use Jessica's old bike. So today we gave it a go and she just jumped on and away she went, in try Lucy style.. FAST!! She loved crashing into things, flying around in a circle and even figured out how to go backwards!!!

and yes that is a fairy skirt she is wearing as she rides...

Made me feel a little sad watching them both zooming around on the bikes. Means another milestone has been reached and soon we won't have a need for tricycles and 'baby' bikes. But it also makes me smile knowing that one day we will be able to go for bike rides together.

Elizabeth, Lucy and I made some choc chip cookies today. They loved helping and then loved eating lol

and after some biscuit munching we made some time for some more bubble blowing

The last soccer Saturday for the year tomorrow. Megan's game is at 9am and then the girls are all going for a sleep over at Mum and Dad's. Mum and Dad fly back up to Townsville next week so it will be their last chance for a while.

Bikes, Bubbles and a Bright New Postal Van

It was a 'my type of weather' kind of day today!! The sun was out, blue skies, not too hot, not too cold, slight breeze that was just right.... ahhhh! So we stayed and played outside most of the day, on and off. While I put the washing out Elizabeth and Lucy played on their bikes. I was VERY impressed with Elizabeth who just hopped on Megan's old bike, with training wheels attached again, and off she went. This is a first that made me smile!! Normally she would get on Jessica's old bike, which is smaller, and grumble about not being able to 'go'. Today she was off!!!

Then in the afternoon, as I got the washing back in, they played with bubbles.

This photo made me laugh, love the line of spray as Elizabeth blew the bubbles.

I tired to get a shot, from above, with the bubbles coming at me, I wasn't successful but going to try that again, maybe tomorrow as another fine day is expected.

Love this shot of Lucy, she was watching the bubbles float away and laughing as they flew away.

Through the day a Bright and shiny postal van arrived. I went to the door saying 'we were admiring your new van' he said he had only just got it. NOICE!!! Later wished I had taken a photo lol. He had arrived with this

A Scenic Route prize pack I had won from Layle's blog. If you haven't found her blog yet it is worth going to, and often!! She has the bestest giveaways, and I ain't saying that cos its Scenic Route but that is a big plus lol

The entries for Challenge 13, the finale, of Project Scrap-Away close tonight. I emailed mine in on Tuesday, after finishing them off on the weekend. Can't wait to see the gallery and the winner is meant to be announced first week of September. Don't know if that means next week or quite what so stay tuned lol. Will show you all the things I made, for the final round, in my post tomorrow and will also announce the winner of the RAK. No one guessed correctly so everyone who commented with a guess will be in the draw.
Roll on September... Lots of good stuff happening, lots of news to share... Grandma, 10 sleeps to go!! OH MY only 10!!!!! lol

The Creative Type

Finally found time to sit and do the first challenge for The Creative Type. Had it in my head, just needed to out it on to paper. The first challenge prompt was to create a poster introducing yourself. Well I created this, it isn't totally introducing 'me' but it is, if you get my thinking lol. Time is something we have and sometimes take for granted so I make this

Just some of the thoughts in my head....

See...

I knew she was thinking of me lol

Last night she rang from England. They were off for a little holiday, to celebrate their first anniversary and she rang to say she had been going to ring but when she could it was late here etc and she would ring when they got back. LOVE YA Bron :)

Also had a surprise visitor to my blog,
hello Opa :) Dave's Dad left a little comment and it made me smile... no actually it made me grin lol

This little rabbit

has been driving me insane lately, well ok I will be honest I was already insane but... lol. Lately she has had a thing for changing clothes. It won't be once or twice a day it will be several times and when Dave brought home some hand-me-downs from a fella from work, well this

became something that had to be put on and taken off and put on and taken off a thousand times a day and if she doesn't get to wear it she gets cranky and often uses her favourite line right now, which is "I DON'T CARE!!!", sigh... She is a right little Miss and loves to push the boundary just to see if it will budge, sadly, for her, the boundary is tried and true and won't be moving lol It is a tiring process being three, tiring for Mum's that is lol

Jessica came home from swimming to declare that next week she gets to swim in the big pool. Is the last lesson for the term so it will be testing time to see if she moves up a group or not. We are packing our bathers, for our trip to Grandma's, so hoping the weather is kind and Megan and Jessica get to show off their swim skills to Grandma. Only 13 sleeps to go Grandma!! Hope you've warned the neighbours lol

Dave had his performance review at work today. He said it went well, time will tell as to what they, as in the powers that be, brought out of it :) Dave has a soccer game tomorrow night, one that got cancelled last weekend, I hope it isn't too cold and wet tomorrow. Been a sunny day today but that is MEANT to change, so the weatherman said lol

Elizabeth has speech therapy after kinder tomorrow, going to make sandwiches for her to eat in the car as we drive to the 'big school', otherwise she would complain the whole time about being hungry lol. She is doing well, with her 'f' sound being used without too much thought or encouragement. It's been great to see/hear improvements but we know we have a lot more to go.

Megan came home today telling me she can play Rockin' Robin on the recorder now!! She has also come quite a way with her recorder this year and loves it, which makes me love it too lol. She is changing, seemingly overnight *sigh*, and growing up so fast, even Dad said that the 2 months or so, that they had been away, Megan has matured and grown the most. She is my baby no more :(

Friends...

Missing these people today

If she is still reading my blog then I just want her to know her hug and kisses made there way back to Tasmania and made me sad, cos I miss her!!!! Wish Western Australia wasn't so far away so I could give her a hug.

Also missing these people

tomorrow is their first wedding anniversary and I hope they have a special day and wish UK wasn't so far away so I could give them a hug, although I probably wouldn't let go in a hurry lol.

Sometimes the world seems too big but glad that friendships are bigger and that even without speaking with people I know they are thinking of me as I am thinking of them and that makes the world seem smaller.

I knew it wouldn't take long

for Mum and Dad to ask for someone to come for a sleep over lol So Megan and Jessica are there tonight. Dropped them off on our way back from Megan's soccer game before heading home in time for Dave to slap some bread and cheese together and then he hopped in his car and whizzed off to his game.

Not much else so will leave you with some of the, not so great but ok, photos I took today, camera wasn't out long so this is all there was lol

took these from the car as we drove back from Megan's soccer game, dark and gloomy photos these turned out to be lol
