Bubble gum makes me smarter...

that is what Megan told Dave today as she cleaned her room!!

And she did a really good job of it AND didn't complain once!! Now that is a first!

All the girls had their rooms tidied today, so now the house is clean :) Jessica took the longest time to clean her room and I even found a pile of sand in behind her mirror, on her dresser... this girl always has something to leave me wondering what goes on in her head lol

We spent the day changing clothes over, putting Megan, Jessica AND Elizabeth up a size. So now Elizabeth is wearing what Jessica was wearing, Jessica is wearing what Megan was wearing and Megan has an almost new wardrobe lol

What else did we do today... The girls got to open their box of holiday cereal (a tradition at holiday time is to have 'not-so-healthy cereal')... we looked after a friends boys while she went to the doctor... the sheets got washed... Jessica is sleeping on the bottom bunk in Megan's room (just for tonight.... hmmm)...

Dave pulled out some of his train set and set it up in the hallway, running into 2 bedrooms, under their beds...

Can you see Megan falling on to the floor?? they were doing their best to stop the trains lol
Dave now has it running a lap of the lounge room :)
I think someone is in holiday mode, even though he isn't the one on holidays lol Makes me happy to see him happy ;) and right now he is setting up another loop inside the other one...

And before I go play trains too, go see if you can find me here or here, i'm excited, and thankful, about both :)

More sunsets...

But first some words from the mouths of babes...

Driving to school this afternoon, Elizabeth said "I get to see my sisters for 2 weeks, that's great". Yep school holidays started today and all of the girls have been looking forward to it and looking forward to hanging out together.

Also, today, Elizabeth and Lucy were watching Blues Clues. It was about Hug day so guess what Elizabeth and Lucy did....
Yep!! Sad but true lol I love that they are like this :)
I made a layout of these two today too :)

And now I will leave you with the gorgeous sunset, it made me wish I as over the hill just so I could see the sun going down rather than the glow of it going down.

Hope you have a fantastic weekend :) No idea what we will get up to, other than some sleepin' :)

PHEW!!!!!!!!!!

I made it through to the next round of the Project Scrap-away contest!!! To tell the truth I was nervous about this one. I had scrapped a page that I was happy with but because it was 'different' to my scrapping of late I wasn't confident in it, so I was over the moon when they announced who was going through to the second round and then to read the comments that the judge of this round, Rhonna Farrer, wrote, well that was amazing and uplifting!!! Congrats to Seang Ling, who was this rounds winner, and well done to the ladies who made it through to the next round, all the best to the 2 that missed out. Loved seeing all the creations that the other contestants made. Looking forward to seeing what the new challenge, being set tomorrow, will be and excited about the list of judges, some VERY inspiring people!!!

The ad that I used

and my Page

Today the parcel man surprised us with a visit, YAY (wish he visited more often lol), I received a package from my Secret SISter (i'm taking part in a secret swap over at SIS) Thank you whoever you are :)

Last night I created this page, I used scraps I had from cutting scallop edges (to make the oodles of cards a few weeks ago) so I made this:

And then today I scrapped this page, of Dave:

Dave has gone to pick up Megan from Guides and when he gets home we are having a piece of cheesecake to celebrate me making it through the first round of the scrap-away contest. I am so happy to have this first one over and done with and looking forward to seeing where it takes me next :)

Mondays are...

Busy, from woe to go!
Today started before this but it was nice to see :)

I scrapped on and off through the day, creating this for the latest challenge for the Scraploot design team search

You had to use 6+ buttons, felt, no cardstock and colouring in :)

I just love getting my hands into the paint

and this colour just makes my head spin and my heart skip a little :)

Created this page for the latest One Little Word challenge, the word being think :)

So now Monday is almost over and then Tuesday can begin :)

Hey Hey it's Sunday :)

And lots to share!!!!

It's been a super dooper, flat out, busy weekend!

Friday night was Dave's High School reunion. Was cool to see people who he had gone to school with, nice to catch up with those that I had already met and funny to hear some stories, most I already knew, but funny :)

Saturday we went shopping for a birthday present (Megan was off to a birthday party later in the day) then home to make some lunch before off to watch Megan play soccer. Dave left from there to play his game and got home in time for me to go take Megan to the pool party she was going to. Yes it was an undercover and heated pool!!! She enjoyed herself :)
The today we were on Carpark at Church. I enjoy doing this service as it brings smiles to faces as we wave hello and it is a great way to start the day :) Megan went to a friends place after Church so we took the other 3 and went to spend Elizabeth's birthday money. She ended up, after 3 shops, getting a packet of Charlie and Lola domino cards. We had McDonald's for lunch and then came home for a game of domino's.

Ok so on to other things...

I spent some time on Friday and made this for my secret SIS over at SIStv, hope she likes :)

This is the page I made for the Project Scrap-away contest. You had to find an advertisement from a magazine or newspaper and scrap a page inspired by that ad. I chose one from one of Dave's Engineering magazines. It is quite different to my 'normal' scrapping but I really liked the clean lines and multi photos so it was ideal for this page I made. Mashir is my Mum, she didn't want to be called Grandma or Nanna or any other typical Grandmother name so settled on Mashir as her name is Shirley.
So by stepping outside my usual scrappy mode I'm crossing fingers and toes and waiting till Wednesday to see how I went :)

*edit* I've removed the photos of my page, for now, as suggested by the scrap-away team. Will republish them after the announcements :) Thanks :)

And then yesterday, after the girls and I got home from soccer and they all had naps (after their late night when Mum babysat), I scrapped my Scrap Mojo challenge page. The challenge was to use clothing as inspiration and to use tape. I already had the latest Target catalogue waiting as I just loved the picture of this top.

So I used that as inspiration to create this "Hello my name is..."

I think the trees trunks look a little scary lol

And will leave you with my biggest news so far!! Check out Aussie Scrapbooking, I have been given the opportunity to be a contributor and have already had two articles (pieces I have written) published!!! Exciting :)

9 days till winter

and this morning we had our first frost!

I had to get snappy and take some shots. This is from the inside of the sunroom, brrr

Also today Jessica lost her 2nd tooth. She 'twisted' it out while at school.

And just to show that the 'creative gene' is on both sides, this is what Davie Babes umm created on the fridge :)

The first challenge has been set for the Project Scrap-away and I got right on to it. It's a little different to what you might class as my usual layout, but I like it so we will see how it goes because it's emailed in now lol All the best to the other contestants as they create and submit this week.

Megan's grace and Jessica's jewellery

Have to start with this, Megan's grace at dinner time...

"Dear Jesus, thank you for the day and thank you for this pigeon poo..."

Yes Grandma we had mashed veggies!! For years I got away with calling it monster mash but then the girls found out that Dave, growing up, called it pigeon poo and tonight they decided to have fun with other names... Jessica called her serving Snake spew (spelt speooy).

Thought I would share Jessica' creation that she made for Mother's day. I love it :)

Today I finished off the other 2 mini canvases

and then I scrapped this photo of Elizabeth

Journaling "You love to blow dandelion heads! Daddy doesn't because it makes more grow in the lawn :) On this day I watched you blowing and I thought about how you'd grown. Once you were a baby then puff a gorgeous young lady!"

Also today I found out that I made it through to the final list for the Project Scrap Away Contest shocked to say the least but looking forward to seeing what the challenges are. So here is the page I made and sent in.

Journaling:
“When did your legs get so long?
When did you get so big?
I am sure it was just yesterday that you were just a little baby???
Did I close my eyes for too long and miss the transformation of baby to young lady? Seems like the blink of the eye.
Has it really been 7 years since you were growing inside of me? Almost 7 years since you decided it was your time to enter the world 7 years since our family grew by 1 again.
The time really has gone by so very fast and that scares me, before long you will take your butterfly wings and see how far they can spread. It scares me because I just don’t want to miss any of this. I don’t want to close my eyes and have 7 more years gone before I see how long those legs have got. So Jessica please PLEASE know that I am here for you, to help those wings unfold and to marvel at all you transform into. I love you.”

Another day

and another GORGEOUS sunrise...

and when you turned 180 you got to see this

Today I went to Elizabeth's parent/teacher interview with her Kindergarten teacher. As expected there were no surprises. She is delayed in speech and her fine and gross motor skills. She is clever, friendly, well mannered, wonderful to teach and is slowly overcoming her developmental problems. So still lots to work on :)

Megan had her second last swimming lesson. After the school holidays she is doing swimming through school for two weeks so I've booked Jessica in for beginner swim lessons starting next term and then Megan can go back after the next holidays.
The next challenge for the Scraploot design team search was posted yesterday here. You have to use the sketch, stamping, hand drawing and a handmade embellishment. So I made this.

I used Lusi's ladybug stamp on the trim (which was from Qtea), cardboard for the flowers and paint (surprise surprise!)

A couple of canvases and a Commodore 64

This morning we went to Church and again it was hit home about 'see a need, fill a need'. It's something I have been mulling over, wondering where I fit in different things, what purpose do I have in the things that I do and what am I missing that I should be doing. So we will see where this all leads :)

After Church we had a walk around one of the local markets, not much to see though. Home for lunch and then Dave helped Elizabeth finish off the plaster for her hand print kit that she got for her birthday. Once it is dry we will paint it and I will share the end result with you then :)

Also this afternoon Dave pulled this out of the shed...

Did you ever play one???

The girls loved having a little play before dinner!
Also today I made these, I have had this idea in my head for a while so it was good to get started with these two.

Have a parent/teacher interview with Elizabeth's kinder teacher tomorrow afternoon, don't think there will be any surprises :)
