The Sun, The Moon and Some...

This morning I went out to take a shot of the sunrise, the moon was still up so I tried to take a photo, this was the best shot I could get!

The sun coming up

Finished off this page today. I did the paint on it last week and it's been waiting for me to get back to. Happy with the result but still not feeling 'in my scrappy groove'...

Today the sun shone, as it did yesterday, very un-wintery! Got the washing all dry on the line and Lucy enjoyed some playtime outside.

And in true fashion it started raining at 3pm, school pick up time.
I started this mini today too, been wanting to do it for a while

Going to put in photos of things that made me happy on that day, probably won't be daily, hasn't started that way, but will see how it goes. Has about 14 days or so in the album and I have covered 8 in preparation. Here are the 2 I have made already, the first page is for Saturday

and one for today.

Jessica had swimming this afternoon, took this photo before she left with Dave.

I have also been asked by Beverley to take part in her 40 days event. She turns 40 in 40 days so is having a little blog party between now and then. She has asked a few people to help out with the celebrations and is having loads of giveaways over the next 40 days. I'm hosting a challenge mid-July and other people will be having things on their blogs too. So why not go check it out and make sure you leave her a comment and you might just win something!

Domestic Blitz

Just a quick note, last nights Domestic Blitz on telly it was about the Gibson Family. Six year old Joshua has Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) which is what Megan has. If you didn't see the show you can see the rundown of it here and there is more info on EB found here or here.
There is no cure, it is genetic and the treatment for sufferers is simply to dress and care for the 'wounds' as the skin opens and to fight any infections that may occur.
Megan hasn't had and major blisters for a long time and hasn't had a bandage since she was 18 months old. Megan is just like a 'normal' kid and the doctors are often amazed when we share with them her story. We are still waiting on a 'name' for the EB that she has as the skin biopsies came back inconclusive but we know she has the Dystrophic type due to the scarring. We know what it is like to live day to day with these blisters and it isn't something that we will forget or ever take granted. We know that we are very blessed to have Megan and we want Megan to understand how blessed she is, that it is part of her and if she decides to have kids that this will be a part of the decision process that she will have to go through. Thankful to the Gibson family for opening their home and sharing their story and thankful to Channel 9 for highlighting this genetic disorder. Hoping more people become aware of what it is and that one day there will be more help for families touched by EB.

Today I am...

tired, really tired. Found it hard to wake up this morning, crawled into bed for a 5 minute snooze before Dave went to soccer this afternoon and am still tired.

Did some baking after he left. Made some choc chip cookies, 2 apple tea cakes and some knew-they-wouldn't-rise, poor-excuse-for-cupcakes cupcakes.
No photos to share and no creations to share so thought I would have a look at what photos I took on this day last year. Found these 4 favourites to share :)

Man they have grown, sigh.

They scored their first goal!!!

Yep! Megan's soccer team finally did it! The score was 5-1 but they now have a goal under their belt :)

Was a cold start to the day but once the sun got up it was beautiful!!

This afternoon, Dave put on my shoes and kicked me out to go to the Craft and Quilt fair. Was nice walking around seeing everything :)
Got home and we made a start on making some fruit salad for pudding.
We had some rock melon

watermelon

Mango

and some grapes, banana and orange too :0)

While I cooked dinner the others lounged and watched some telly, had to take some photos ;)

Before I forget, Mum and Dad didn't stay the other night. They came for dinner but went back home as they had decided to clean their carpets so had to light a fire the next day to get them dry for their house sitter... anyway in amongst all that Dad had decided to clean the screen of their GPS... he cleaned it so well it wouldn't work with the liquid that got under the screen... so the next day, yesterday, the day they were leaving, they had to go get a new GPS... Mum rang on their way to get it to ask me to ring some canvas places as Dad was doing up the canopy, that's what they are sleeping in on the back of the Ute, and the stitching between the zip and the canvas had come undone... rang while they were at the canvas place and Mum said the new GPS they had just bought wasn't working... rang them later to see if they had gone back to the shop to get it working. While they were at the shop Dad had locked his keys in the Ute and it had taken the roadside assist man 45 minutes to come and get the keys out... they had called into Maccas on their way to the boat (3 or so hour drive) and Mum had indigestion from her food, lol.... So all in all a great start to their trip hehehe but they rang just awhile ago to say they were well on their way, boat trip was smooth and they were just below the Vic/NSW border.

Humpty Dumpty has a girlfriend!!??

Yep and here is the proof, here is Mr D

and here is his girlfriend :)

I love that she drew these, you see her sense of humour, and I love that she wrote her name :)

Megan came home today with her Swimming Water & Safety Certificate, she finished her 2 weeks today

Made this page of Jessica today

not one of my faves but it's another story documented so that makes me happy

And I will leave you with this morning's sunrise shot and then a photo of the snow on the mountain and the gorgeous rainbow that appeared through the rain :)

Phew... Round 6!!!

Yep Round 6 of the Scrap-n-Crop's Project Scrap-Away has been set and yay I made it through. Challenge 6 is to create 4 coasters using polka dots... will see what I can create :)

Round 5's challenge was WORDS, the emphasis being on words. This is the page I created that Rhonna Farrer, the judge for this round, judged and that got me through to round 6.

Was the story, from my blog, about the day Elizabeth jumped for the first time. Was a page I had been wanting to create for sometime and glad I got to share it :)
Mum and Dad are coming for dinner and a sleep over tonight before they head off tomorrow for their not-so-annual trip to the mainland. They go for a couple of months, visiting my brothers and sister and travelling... this time they are hoping to cross one of the deserts, forget which one now, seeing as they have done a few lol. The girls are all excited about them visiting and VERY excited about having them sleep over, they will be jumping on them in the morning WITHOUT A DOUBT lol

Well blow me down...

I went and checked my bloglines this morning and what did I see...

Have a look over here at Scrapscene!!!!!

Yes I was excited to see me lol and right there with coolness-on-a-stick Silje! So after all the excitement of seeing me there with some bubble wrap printing I was inspired to do some more ;)

Dave is at soccer training with Megan (and Jessica) so I thought I would take a quiet moment, quiet for now lol, and blog. I will leave you with some shots I took of the sun coming up this morning. I love taking sunrise/sunset shots because every day is always different, every minute it is changing, the colours are always mind blowing and you have to be in the moment, love that :)

Much ado about Monday...

Dave has taken Jessica to swimming, thanks Dave :) and with dinner in the oven, slowly heating up, I thought I would blog. Not that it's going to be a big blog because there isn't much to share lol

Took this photo this morning of the sunrise

and speaking of sunrises... I made this layout today

Been thinking of things, direction, life, love and lentils.... well not so much lentils :)

We are all turning odd this year...

That is what Megan informed Poppy of last night *grin* as we celebrated the birthday of this gorgeous hunky man that I am blessed to call husband...

For his birthday he was woken early and showered with gifts and cuddles...
One of the things his girls gave him was a bike and this afternoon he put it together

and what better thing to do with the packaging than make a pirate boat with all the attire to go with it!

and here he is riding around the house on his new bike :)

Took some photos of Jessica today too, as usual a large number of gorgeous ones, love this one :)

Have been working on a few layouts too over the last few days. Made this one for Project Scrap-Away but ended up making a different one, which I used instead.

This one for One Little Word Challenge, the word strong, not overly happy with the page but seeing as its one of my fave photos....

and then these two :)

also sent off my Project Scrap-Away layout tonight. Will let you know how I go after they announce the winners of this round on Wednesday and will share my page then too :) Also the Design Team comp for Scraploot closes tonight, will let you know on that one when I know something :) waiting waiting waiting lol

A cow throwing poo...

that was the explanation we gave Megan and Jessica when we picked them up from school, to explain why Elizabeth had cow poo on the backside of her jeans... Yes we make up lots of interesting stories... well I do and I love that I have a receptive audience lol
Not much else to share, we spent the morning at Mum and Dad's enjoying the sunshine. It turned grey and dark as we went to school and it typically started raining at 3 when they got out. Dave is at soccer training tonight, brrr, and before I forget AGAIN Jessica's swim teacher rang Tuesday morning and Jessica has now moved up two, yes two, classes after her stunning half hour performance which showed she was a clever chicky!!!!
Off to finish my page for the new challenge at One Little Word, word prompt being Strong, and then think about what to do for the new Project Scrap-Away challenge, the challenge being Words... think that will be a problem??!! hmmm lol Now just to think about it, that's the hard bit ;)

On the run to the weekend now

Yeah to Wednesday being almost over and that the weekend is nearer :)
Today the announcement was made about challenge 4 of Project Scrap-Away. For this challenge we had to make our own pattern paper and then use it. So here is my pattern paper, told you I love polka dots right now,

and here is the page I used it on :)

Journaling “You love it when we go to the park. You run RUN run and play on everything. On this visit you laughed each time I pushed you.”

The amazing Teresa Collins was the judge, for this round, and this is what she said about my entry: "I love the dots. I am a big dot fan. They are fun and whimsical. I also love the blue and color combination. I loved the fringe that was added on the bottom of the pattern paper. The layout is very HAPPY!!!!"
Slightly cool, no??!!!
The next challenge is announced over night, wonder what it will be??

Another Cold start to a sunny day

This was before the sun made an appearance on the horizon

and this is my favourite Sunrise shot from this morning, love the wispy clouds

Thought I would share this note that Megan wrote to me while she was at Mum and Dad's. She had it in an envelope, addressed and with a stamp (Mum wasn't impressed she had wasted a brand new stamp lol).
I like Tuesday afternoons, no rushing back to school as Dave goes up for Megan's soccer training so picks up Megan and Jessica. Made the most of it today, scrapped this page for the Design Team search at Scraploot, you had to scrapjack (copy) one of the pages posted in the gallery. I choose this one, Cheerful and Bright, find lifting/jacking hard so glad this came together without too much fuss :)

and I also made this page of Dave, was setting Lucy's Barbie bike up to be recharged last night and I just knew I had to scrap this :)

We got out in the sun this afternoon too. Lucy played golf with the tennis ball before it got too cool to be outside.

I also took some photos of Lucy and Elizabeth, really pleased with these 2 shots so I am sure they will appear somewhere else on my blog in the future ;)

Little Miss Lucy took it upon herself to do some house decorating today... Took a whiteboard marker, that Elizabeth has for practicing her handwriting and lives in her school 'home folder', and scribbled over the pantry cupboard doors, the hallway door and the length of the hallway wall. Thankfully the pantry and door are gloss and it just wiped off... the hallway I have had to scrub A LOT. Rabbit that she is :)

Off now, next round contestants for Project Scrap-Away are announced tomorrow afternoon, will let you know how I got on and will then post the Pattern Paper I made as well as the layout I used it on.
