Tumbling into Tuesday

and it was another busy day.

Lucy requested we stay home today.

We did but it was busy.

Elizabeth had Speech Therapy after kinder so we didn't get home till after 1.30.
After lunch we were outside, Elizabeth and Lucy wanted to ride their bikes, till Dave got home with Megan and Jessica.

Heard some going-on's in our bed room so went, with camera in hand, to investigate. Dave was in there, with his guitar, and all the girls were just chillin' as he played. He had put on the tie Elizabeth had made/given him for Father's Day.

While our roast chicken cooked in the oven and Dave played football with the girls outside I scrapped this page

This is actually the second last of the holiday photos that I had printed out so I think I need to go through my 'to print' folder again and print out some more.

Ok so that's all I have to share so will leave you with some linkity links of some wonderful things I have found of late.

Some 'new to me' blogs, their work was amazing:

Kimberley Kwan

Kim Smith

Emilie Ahern

Layle has shown the new Scenic Route Christmas range on her blog.

Ed has started a challenge blog Ed's Sketch Blog go check this out too and tell her I sent you :)

Love the key chain kit Leigh-Ann has for sale at the moment, sadly it won't be coming my way.

Way Past My Bedtime

But I couldn't just leave and not post!!!

As you can see my 'home' has changed.

The lovely Michelle gave me a new blog banner as a RAK she had on her blog, pretty chuffed being that I had just found her blog. Anyway not only did she give me the gorgeous banner you see above but she also 'restyled' my blog into this lovely new home that you now see. I have spent tonight moving the furniture back in, ie fixing up the links etc, and now it feels just like me/mine!! THANK YOU MICHELLE!!! I am so happy with the new look! If anyone finds a link that is broken please let me know and if you visit my blog and would like me to link you please let me know that too. Because of the new digs I thought I would have a RAK, so leave a comment and I will pull a name out of the hat to win some goodies, I will include those that have already found my new look and commented :) So comment away, you have till Wednesday night, my time :)

Megan came home with her diorama today. She made it at school last term and I love it

Today Lucy and I spent the morning visiting my Great Aunt, will be a regular Monday Morning thing, so the rest of the day was filled trying to cram all the housework etc into the afternoon. But I did get the chance to make this page while Dave took Jessica to swimming :)

And Love Scrappin' have extended their 20% off sale for another week, so go grab a bargain!

Ok off to bed so I can warm up my feet... Love you Dave *grin*

Stay At Home Sunday

Today we had all intentions of going to Church but last night we found some lovely head lice on Lucy, which were quickly dealt with, and then this morning I stayed in bed till 8 and Dave made us all pancakes and then the phone rang... you can see where the day was heading and it wasn't to church!
My youngest brother is getting married, early January, in Western Australia and Mum rang to ask me to book the plane tickets. So I spent the morning on the phone with her and Dad before booking flights and a hire car for the three of us. The wedding is on the 3rd but because of the distance we will fly in the day before and then do the 4hour drive from Perth to Geraldton and because it is the height of the raspberry season, Mum and Dad have acres of small fruit, that they pick themselves and sell at a roadside stall, we fly back home on the 4th, which means we will drive to the airport first thing in the morning to catch our midday flight. Anyways all booked now, as is another exciting trip... Dave has to go to New Zealand next month, for work, and Friday we paid for my ticket so I get to go too!! It will only be for 4 days, I'm not counting the Wednesday that we fly out as we arrive in NZ at midnight.....!!!! But I am a tad excited about having 'our' first overseas trip together. Going to Wellington so that is exciting for me as I have only been to the South of the South island and I know the North Island is vastly different. The girls have 2 days off school, which are show day and a student free day, so it works out well and they will get to have a holiday at Mum and Dad's.
Today we spent time around home, mostly vegging, which I think we all needed, and then this afternoon we all went and did the grocery/butcher/fruit 'n' veg shopping. I scrapped this page, over the day, of our trip to the science works museum.

I used a piece of KI lace paper, sanded it and then sprayed it with Suede glimmer mist. I then used Jazz Blue glimmer mist on the reverse (white) side and tore off a section which I used in the right corner.

How Did They Sneak This One Past Me??

Firstly though, this is how yesterday started...

Then this turned it a little brighter...

I received my order from Love Scrappin'. If you haven't had a look then dash on over as the 20% off sale is finishing soon and I was goose bumpy excited about what I bought. So excited that I just had to play and I created this page about my new shoes.

Love the itsy bitsy garden from Buzz and Bloom, love that the Glimmer Mist makes the chipboard layers lift.

Love LOVE love the new puffy thickers from American Crafts

and the new Sassafrass Lass papers are delish!!!!!!! I also cut a tag from the Cosmo Cricket Cogsmo Journaling Cards

The girls were at Mum and Dad's last night, Dave and I went to his end of year soccer dinner. Was a nice night, just a late one but we slept till 8 this morning so glad of that hehe

Today was Grand Final Day here in Australia.

Now I am not a huge Football fan. Dave doesn't watch much of it either, possibly because some little people don't let him lol. But somewhere, over the years, a tradition has started and today I have come to realise it has been happening for the last few years and wondered if it was here to stay. Grand Final Day seems to be the one time of the year that Dave is allowed, or ordered!, to watch the football and then at half time he takes the girls into the backyard to kick the footy around. So this was last year...

Lucy in her footy beanie

and this was this year...

This was 2005

in the back yard

and this was this year..

So how did they sneak this one past me??!!

and yes Lucy and Jessica are wearing their PJ pants... they were like this when we got to Mum and Dad's, to pick them up, as they had both wet the 2 pairs of pants they had taken with them, Jessica said hers were wet because she had washed the dog and Lucy had wet herself... hmm

Will leave you with a photo of the yellow tulip that opened today. It makes me smile because Bron gave me the bulbs but also because she called from England this afternoon. She was up early and thought of me, so rang. Love ya Bron :)

Today was proudly brought to you by Orange

Today Elizabeth, Lucy and I made orange juice. One of the most simplest pleasures in life and made simpler by the juicer Dave and I were given as a wedding present all those years ago and hardly ever use! We don't often use the juicer as there aren't often enough oranges in the house to use but today we took the sad looking oranges and made juice and they made wonderful juice too!!

And what is good about juicing oranges is the pulp left behind in the skins, just waiting to be sucked into an awaiting mouth.

Also made something else with the orange theme today, my layout for One Little Word. The new word is change and I had already had plans to use the word when I took this photo of Megan and the blossom on the nectarine tree.

Journaling "This week, at school, you have been doing a 'growing up' class. You have been learning about the way our bodies change and what to expect as you get older. Yes, some of those changes are going to seem yucky but I want you to embrace them and know that it is something amazing. I'm here if you need to talk and I hope we do 'cos I want to be a part of those changes and want to be there as you grow"
And Megan let me take some photos of her this afternoon, loved them and have a few in my 'to print' folder, here are just 2 :)

Mum and Dad arrived home this afternoon and we have already requested their babysitting services, tomorrow night is Dave's end of season soccer dinner. Hoping it doesn't go as long as previous years but know it will, sigh.

A very random type of post...

Today was another day around home, well after a visit to the chemist to get some more antibiotics for Elizabeth and a trip to the supermarket to get some milk oh and a call in to get a coffee for me and a babycino for Lucy, so I made the most of the warmer/drier day and we got outside, between the spring showers, and I took some photos of the things we did today and of other ummm random stuff.

This is one of the bulbs Bron gave me, before she and Murray went to England. She gave me 2 packets of 3 each and so far the 3 red ones are out and the others are well on the way.

While we were outside I went through the garden shed and found some more old seed that the previous house owners had left behind. I know the seeds are old but I threw them about anyway as some will still germinate and grow. Planted corn, lettuce and tomato

Also thought I would update my blog photo so took some of me ;)

and have to share my shoe purchase, from our trip. These I went back to get as I just loved them! They have little apples on the sides, which you can't see in the photo, and are a dove and apple print, love them!!

Because it has been raining for the last 2 days, the washing has been inside, on the three airers. Today's went outside and was dry after lunch, so here is what 2+ days of washing looks like in our house.

Lucy and Elizabeth did some playing in the sunroom, because the clothes airer was taken away they had room again.

Elizabeth made a kite at kinder so she begged to fly in this afternoon... fly... well, it was off the ground for awhile lol

and she also brought home her very first home reader book. She read it with my twice and then read it to Dave about 3 times. Love that this stage is happening for her.

and finally I will leave you with a page I made today, using more bits from My Sweet Spuds kit

Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah

I tag you!!!! Well actually Charissa tagged me, with
THE FIVE TAG

Rules: Each player answers the question themselves. At the end of the post the player then tags 5 people and posts their names, then goes to their blog and leaves them a comment letting them know that they've been tagged and asking them to read your blog. Let the person that tagged you know when you've answered the questions on your blog.

10 years ago I: 1. had been married, to Davie Babes, for 10 months 2. was about 5-6 months pregnant with Megan 3. was unemployed 4. still a youth leader at church 5. missing my pal Bron who was in Japan

5 things on today's "to do" list: 1. washing 2. speech therapy for Elizabeth 3. school run(s) 4. nothing else cos it was one of those days where I didn't have a list.

5 snacks I enjoy: 1. fruit 2. potato chips 3. nuts 4. dips 5. a picnic bar

5 things I would do if I were a millionaire: OH MY lol 1. pay off the mortgage and then move lol 2. family holiday to a new destination every school holiday 3. new car(s) 4. and the rest I would give away cos I don't like the thought of having a big back pocket...

5 places I have lived: Tasmania, Tasmania, Tasmania.... but stayed in New Zealand and Wisconsin, USA for 3 months. NZ as an exchange student with Rotary and US as a camp counselor at a summer camp.

5 jobs I have had: 1. cherry packer 2.Office Administrator 3. youth Worker 4. Radio announcer 5. and now domestic bliss coordinator ;)

and I am passing it on to anyone that wants to play and share their five's :)
and as I wrote this Beverley ran over and tagged me with this one

Here's the rules:
1. Link your tagger and list these rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
4.Let them know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

So here go... 7 random or weird facts about me...
1. I love to be barefoot. I love the days we are home all day so I don't have to wear shoes.
2. If I do have to wear shoes I would prefer ones that mean I don't have to wear socks, which is not something that happens often in winter!
3. I don't bite my fingernails.
4. I don't wear garden gloves or washing up gloves.
5. When I get tired my shoulders ache, usually the left one first
6. I always knew I would have 4 girls...knew what their first names would be but not their second names
7. I love coffee, don't drink tea but enjoy iced green tea.......

Ok I think that is random!!! and again tagging anyone who wants to share something random or weird about themselves!!

On a home front today... Lucy and I spent the day around home, dealing with washing and the other around home things. Elizabeth was meant to have speech today, after kinder, but her therapist rang to say she was sick so it didn't happen :) While Lucy was watching Dora, this morning, I scrapped these 2 pages, with more of the Sweet Spuds kit :)

The flowers were from Gigi and the rainbow I purchased from KittyRobot

SUPER EXCITED!!!

and I am going to tell you why...

Because the amazing Suzie has been hard at work and FINALLY the cyber doors for Love Scrappin have opened!!! YAYAY Now you can go see what I mean by bargain and for this week Suzie is having a Grand Opening Special and offering 20% off EVERYTHING in the store and believe me it is worth RUNNING over to have a look as her 'normal' prices were already low and now there is another 20% off and if that isn't enough she is also offering free postage over $65 orders and a flat rate of $6.50 postage for Australia wide and if you are local you can pick up for free! International customers are welcome too, notification via email of postage rate. So why not go have a little look around and she would love to hear any feedback, on her blog, and I put my money where my mouth is on this one as I just became her first online customer!! and I got super excited because not only does she stock my fave double sided tape but she also has it at the cheapest price that I have seen ANYWHERE, didn't get any with the 20% off though as I already have 3 rolls stashed away lol.

On the scrappy front, I hadn't scrapped in a while so was feeling scared about sitting down to scrap. Wondering if I would be able to etc etc, I know most scrappers go through this, but I sat down with the latest My Sweet Spuds kit, I also purchased the add on as I've been craving the American Crafts products, and scrapped this page for the latest Scrap Mojo challenge.

Journaling "What else would one say, with a new hat, but Yo!"

The challenge was to use the Cirque Du Soleil site as inspo and to use sequins... job done lol Love the colour and busy-ness that Cirque Du Soleil provides and always find colour an inspiration to create.

On the home front, Elizabeth started back kindergarten at the 'big school' today. They have been 'off campus' till this term and she loved it! Came home at lunchtime all excited because she had seen Megan and Jessica and had met some of the staff who the kinder kids hadn't met before, like the music teacher and the librarian. Jessica started back at swimming lessons this afternoon, couldn't get places for any of the other girls, and Dave said she swam well on her belly and sank on her back lol. And what did Lucy and I do this morning? We went to visit my Great Aunt. She was finally allowed to go home, while we were away, so after about 3 months in hospital, most of that time was unnecessary for her to have been there, she was home. When she was in the hospital we could go that way to school, for the end of kinder pickup, so it just became part of our almost daily routine. Sadly, now, she lives 45+ minute drive away from us so trying to fit in visits is going to become a juggling act, but we got one in today :)

**EDIT TO ADD** Another reason to get excited, the announcement at Scrap-n-Crop!! Can't wait to see what the Scrap-n-Crop crew have up their sleeve for the new kit club!!!

What better way to end the holidays than...

with some scrapping?!

So that is what the girls did this afternoon. I had printed them off a page each, from when we went mini golfing with Grandma, and they each made a page. They then scrapped another page with photos my sister took, last year. She, and Mum, had taken them to Zoo Doo, a wildlife park, while Dave and I were in Sydney in November. The photos have been sitting here waiting for them to scrap. Megan also made a page about reading to Grandma. What I loved about today was that Elizabeth found each of the letter stickers herself.

Made me proud to see that! Megan and Jessica made their own pages completely by themselves

while Elizabeth and Lucy only had help when needed, ie: spelling the words out for Elizabeth or showing Lucy which letters to use.

I love that Megan and Jessica did their own journaling, spelling mistakes and all, as its just another thing to look back on.

Here are Lucy's layouts

Elizabeth's,

Megan's,

and Jessica's.

Megan wore her new jacket to Church this morning, I think she likes it lol

and as promised here is the mini album I made about our trip to the zoo. I used a 4x4 album from Bella!. I saw it while we were away and just had to get it. Love the feel of it, the cover is just brown paper but it is padded and feels delish. I was going to paint on the cover but love the brown paper look and so left it plain. The album was quick to put together. I used Urban Lily papers that I had but had no idea how I would ever use. So I just jumped right in and cut them into 4x4 and just stuck the photos down, no umming, 'just did it'! So here it is with just a few of the inside pages.

I started playing with my blog template this afternoon but reverted it back because it all seemed too hard and time consuming, and time isn't something I have had a lot of, so it's a dream that goes back on the back burner again lol. Back to school for my school girls tomorrow, wonder what Lucy and I will do to fill our morning...
