I Just Love Apple Blossom

Love the tight pink buds that just burst into flower
They seem less delicate than the gorgeous cherry blossom

Yes, I took my camera for a wee walk around the back yard today, enjoying the fabulous sunshine

Today I also had a little play, prompted by the One Little Word challenge “Open”, and created this

100_6946

The journaling

100_6947

The cloud stickers were from Kikki-K and I even used the barcode sticker from the packet :)

100_6952

I also used my trusty wire cutters to cut into some cherry blossom branches from Prima, which I just love and wish I had more than one of, hence cutting it up so it lasts longer lol

100_6951

It as ‘silver’ and gorgeous but…

100_6953

I sprayed it with some Burnt Red and Yellow Daisy Glimmer Mist

100_6955

Excuse the recycling bin in the background, I also used another new love some Making Memories Bamboo lettering

100_6954

Tomorrow is meant to be another fine day, before more rain is expected in the afternoon, so I am hoping to make the most of the sunshine and make hay… well not quite but, hopefully, you get what I mean :)

Slacking on Saturday

After staying bed till after 9am, staying in my PJs till after 11am it was time to stop being a slacker as we headed out the door for Megan’s end of season soccer presentation BBQ

We enjoyed being outside, dodging muddy puddles

We enjoyed the sunshine, after all the rain we have had

We enjoyed a parents v kids soccer game, which I got in trouble for because I stood on the sideline with my camera… what can I say… I was tired and I know if I was in the thick of the game I would have been the first to body plant in the middle of the huge puddle of mud that was right near where they played!

When the game was over and everyone had retreated for drink I stayed and enjoyed the daisies :)

Overnight we have had MUCH rain, so much that this was in our front yard this morning

Its been pouring and gusty most of the day, Dave looked like Bill and Ben the flowerpot men as he wore a bucket on his head for our turn at car park while at church this morning! Made a lot of people smile :)

The One Thing I Dislike About Glimmer Mist…

Did I really say that out aloud???
But yes the ONE thing I dislike about Glimmer Mist is that, when they are all snuggle tucked up in their storage basket, I can’t see what colour is in each bottle! So today I rectified this problem with the help of some scrap paper, a circle punch and some spray action :)

100_6835

I just sprayed some ink onto each dot and glued the dot onto the top of the corresponding bottle
EASY!!!

100_6843100_6839

So now I no longer have a problem and my love for Glimmer Mist has been restored :)

And now I am running out the door to have dinner with some of the Mums from school :)

Getting Back In The Saddle

or should that be getting back in the computer chair???

I know I promised holiday snaps but I don’t think I’m going to get the time to put them all on here so you will just have to get each story as I scrap the photos, and there are a few ;)

Scrapped this page on Saturday, as a ‘stop and sit’ time between hospital visits
On our way up to the boat we called into a cheese factory, Ashgrove, and in the entrance there were a number of ‘cows’ that local community groups had ‘dressed up’ as part of their Cow Art Project
Took photos of a few but started with this one and Megan

100_6779

Love the mix of the old Sassafras Lass with the new, which I picked up from the local scrap shop near Grandma’s house

And the journaling

Don’t you just love his teeth??!!!

Yes that’s right all this week Suzie has been celebrating the 1st birthday of Love Scrappin’ and you can save with her 15% off sale, just for this week. She is also having a RAK on her blog so why not go visit her blog to say happy birthday :) What are you waiting for??!!

A day around home for Lucy and I tomorrow, yay, and I hope to pull out some more of the holiday snaps :)
Thanks to all those who have left supportive comments over the last week or have emailed me. I have read and appreciated each of them, hugs and thanks :) She died peacefully, as she wanted, and at 96 had a very full life. Now I just need to get mine back on to an even keel because it has been so full of late I seem to have lost the routine somewhere and need to pick it back up again :)

PS Rainy, I will try to remember to give a little rundown on how I made the pocket for the travel journal soon :) Love questions like that :)

I...

I am glad...
*that I have a family to love
*of time spent doing nothing but cuddling
*being able to buy Lucy babycinos
*of life
*that Mum is home for a while
*that my sister now has a webcam and we can talk to them all
*of spending time being
*I have so much to be thankful and happy for
*of good decisions
*of time spent with Mum and Dad
*That I can share my story with others
*I can remember
*I can cry
*that I have a wonderful man in my life

I want...
*Time to sleep
*Sunshine so I can take photos and to get lost in the moment
*To not feel sad about so many things
*to remember
*To have time to scrap all the wonderful photos from our holiday
*time out so I can breathe again
*to feel like blogging again
*to put into words the thoughts that float in my head
*to create something
*my life to be more
*the grocery shopping to be over and done with quickly tomorrow
*to be back here tomorrow with a 'normal' post

Holiday Journal Part 2

So for the internal parts of our holiday journal

On the inside cover I made an pocket, which now house our boat tickets

100_6573

Then I just pulled out some random paper for the girls to write on and went to work with my beloved hole punch

100_6574

adding stickers and diecuts here and there

100_6575

and maybe a pocket with some glimmer mist that was sprayed over a paper doily??!!

100_6578

I only made 3 pages up before we left and then put together a kit to take with us so the girls could choose their own pages to write on

100_6579

Today we finished off all the days, glad Dave was home to help out with that one!, and I will share some of their pages with you in another post.
Right now though it's time for this weary deary to go to bed!! 9am appointment for Elizabeth and her Occupational Therapist tomorrow and then in to town so I can visit my Great Aunt who is back in hospital and hopefully Dave can buy some jeans being as we didn't find the 'right' pair while we were away :)

Holiday Journal Part 1

Well we are home safe, sound and tired!!
I have just uploaded, off the camera, 161 photos so will wade through those and start adding them to my blog soon then you can see how we filled our days at Grandma's, Dave's Mum, house

In the meantime I will show you the Holiday Journal I put together for the girls to write up our daily going's on, they took in turns who wrote up each day and we only got 3 days written up while we were away so we have some more writing to do before it's finished as well as adding photos

Our Holiday Journal:

100_6559

I pulled out all the holiday/travel theme things I could find

100_6536 .

and I started with a less than $4 A5 size ring binder folder

100_6537

I took some brown paper and cut out a piece that was slightly bigger than the folder

100_6538

using double sided tape I put the pattern paper onto the brown paper and then I stitched around the outside, and a few lines through the middle, to hold it all together

100_6541

I then placed tape on the folder

100_6542

and covered the folder with the paper

100_6544

Added some travel theme stickers

100_6545

some red electrical tape to reinforce the corners and sides

100_6549

alpha stickers for the title

100_6550

some paint spots, lines, circles, streaks

100_6551

and then I covered the lot with clear contact to keep it clean from grubby fingers and to keep it strong and sturdy for travel and future reading :)

100_6557

Next post I will show you what I did inside.

Off To Work With Grandma

Today we spent the day at "Grandma's Work", Sovereign Hill
The girls got to dress up too and went to "work" having a grand time :)

Tomorrow we are off to the big smoke for some mandatory shopping :)

Will leave you with some pages that I made for Karen’s Scrappin’ Kupboard

This one was for Dave's Mum, so journal free, and was taken when Dave's Grandparents took them to Sovereign Hill when they were young and over in Victoria on holidays with their parents

100_6474 100_6476 100_6477

A layout about the brandy snaps Dave made a while back

100_6483 100_6484 100_6485

Elizabeth and I :)

100_6486

Used paint to adhere the alpha stickers

100_6489

and painted the dragonfly with paint and stickles

100_6491

and this one of Dave and his baseball team (around 1987 he thought)

100_6501

used some smaller and used them as a mask to glimmer mist over the top
