100% Better

thanks to Blackmore's Cold Combat tablets! They work REALLY work.
Thanks for the 'feel better' messages, appreciated your kind thoughts :)

This morning Megan had a birthday party to go to so we spent the day around home.
Saw a garage sale around the corner, as I drove home from dropping Megan off, so we walked up and spent some money :)

Lucy wanted these sunnies :)

Jessica found a 'treasure box' and Elizabeth snaffled up these blocks, which have been played with since getting home!

This afternoon I decided to clean this

so it now looks like this

Added this to the wall

is a glimmer misted cardboard butterfly, on which I wrote learn to fly over and over :)
Also had to use the clean area and scrap, so I did :)

And with that I am off. Dave is making some dumplings and Master Chef is calling me :)

I'm Not Well

But Dave is home, we picked him up from the airport this morning, and the school holidays have started so all is ok :)

I have a runny nose and just can't get warm.

I spent the afternoon with my jacket on, hood up and a beanie on my head.

The others spent the day like this

a little dancing

on the computer

reading

writing a story

playing with toys

and marble runs.

Dave cooked dinner and we all ate by candle light :)

Dave had some pressies for us.
Mine included some Kikki-K tape and stickers, which I used on this

The tape and some stickers from Kikki-K

and the poem I wrote for the layout

Glad Dave arrived home safely and now hoping for a full nights sleep :)
Ciao :)

As Promised...

Do you remember the Butterflies I made here?
Well, today I took some photos so I could share how I made them, so you can too :)

I used/You will need:

Heat Gun.
Glimmer Mist, how many and what colours is up to you.
Embossing powder, I used clear and turquoise but you will need clear.
Shape to trace, I used a Jenni Bowlin chipboard butterfly.
Pen.
Scrap of corrugated cardboard, but you can use any paper.
2 scrap pieces of paper. One for the glimmer mist and the other for the excess embossing powder.

First start by tracing the shape onto the cardboard with your pen. You could use a pencil but I like that effect the pen has at the end, ie that you can see it through some of the ink.

Then cut out the shape. Don't worry about it being perfect or along the line... it all adds to the effect ;)

Making sure you place a piece of scrap paper under the cardboard select the lightest colour from the glimmer mist you picked to use. Then spray over the cardboard where you want the ink to go.

Dump on some of the embossing powder over the inked parts of the cardboard. I used this amount and this is all I used for the whole project.

Shake off the excess, onto the other scrap piece of paper, this will be used so don't worry about waste :)

Then using your heat gun melt the powder till it becomes shiny.
Repeat the process with the next coloured glimmer mist.

Embossing each layer/colour as you go.

Don't worry when there are 'balls' of the glimmer mist. You can blow them with your heat gun to add effect.
I also dabbed the end of the glimmer mist tube on to the cardboard to add some dots

and also used some excess ink to dab the edges of the cardboard.

Just keep going through the process until you are happy with the result. I also added some turquoise glimmer mist. Please remember that the pwder does get hot, it can 'pop' so please be careful. Also when it is hot you can dab it into the embossing powder, the heat will allow it to grab so you can add the powder to the cardboard without adding more ink.

Here is my finished butterfly from today :)

And the scrap piece of paper won't go to waste either. I used my heat gun on that also and will use this one something else too

Oh Glimmer Mist! How I love thee ;)

A Day Like This...

Lucy taking over the lounge room

Making choc chip biscuits for Jessica to take for her class party tomorrow, the last day of the school term WOO HOO.

I decorated the paper plate with a Basic Grey Stamp so it wasn't so plain ;)

Also made this today

It's now in the mail on it's way to Karen for her to take to Paperific.

The chipboard, which I edged with some Broken China Crackle Paint, are tags that she cuts. As are the butterfly, which I added orange stickles to.

And the dragonfly she also cuts. I coated this one with Picket Fence Crackle Paint and then sprayed with some glimmer mist, ink and edged it with my black sharpie pen :)

Will leave you with some sneak peeks of what I created using the June kit for Scrap-n-Crop.

One Down :)

3 sleeps to go.

Just a quick post because I just told Megan she could watch Master Chef with me :)

Scrapped this page today

Journaling

see the yellow strip? it's from a box of washing powder!
Loved the yellow and the lady bird was going to sell me but this was the thing that made me keep it to use it on a page ;)

the bottle top was a RAK from Julie (love ya mate) and the clip and note are Jenni Bowlin

Have to share this, the cutest pony tail I have ever seen

Yep Lucy asked for her hair up today. It didn't stay up for long ;)

Ok off to make a coffee and steal some of Megan's blanket on the couch :)

My Baby's On a Jetplane

Today has been busy.

School.
Trip to the supermarket.
Washing.
Dave home in time for a quick lunch.
Picked up friend to take to the airport.
Back to pick up the girls from school.
Home for a minute or 5.
Back to the airport to drop off Dave.
Home via KFC.
Food eaten, girls through the shower and into bed.
Phone calls from Dave, to say g'nite to the girls.
Remembered to turn my electric blanket on.
Coffee and computer.

And now it is totally quiet, except for the hum of the computer and tapping of my fingers on the keyboard.

Dave is away till Saturday morning, only because there weren't any flights back on Friday night, grr!

So hoping to spend the nights keeping warm and busy with some creating :)

A Dull Autumn Day

This is what the day looked like today. Overcast, cold and a day that should be spent inside doing.... washing! That's how the day felt lol

We have had a very good friend, from Sydney, staying with us over the weekend. He was over for 2 reasons. 1 because another close friend turned 35 so we organised for 'the boys' to surprise him and take him out, dinner and a movie. And 2nd was because he preached at the morning service at Church. Was so good to see him, just to hang out and to catch up, oh and to have him mauled by our girls... yep that wasn't so good lol

So on this autumn day

I decided to scrap a VERY quick page, only cos I was sick of all the washing I had dealt with and I didn't have a lot of time :)

All papers were from Jedgell again and here is the journaling :)

Love the little puffy stickers and the birdie I cut from one of the sticky notes that was in the May Q-Tea kit

Speaking of Q-Tea the new owner Jodi is having a Creative Team call.
And speaking of Design team calls... Suzie from Love Scrappin' is looking to add someone to the Design Team, so why not go apply, she is lovely to work for :)
