It’s Raining It’s Pouring…

STILL!!!
Saturday was meant to be a soccer Saturday but with the rain, the freezing weather and me wishing really REALLY hard Jessica’s game AND Dave’s game was cancelled but poor Megan and Dave still had to venture out as her’s was still on
Dave came home wetter than Megan but I think it will be a while before their shoes dry out!

Sunday we cleaned the house, all bedroom are now tidy and the house has been vacuumed ready for our departure, really hoping the wind eases off before then so we have a smooth sailing!!!

Today was back to school and Lucy and I had the day at home and I did some scrapping :)

Q Tea’s Tutti Frutti kit is on sale right now, shipping on Friday 4th September, and it is full of colour and kitsch. I created 2 layouts using the kit. This one of Elizabeth

100_6504

I used some of the Kitschy Digitals Fruit Cut Outs, Vintage Yellow Rayon Fancy Trim and the Kikki-K (LOVE LOVE LOVE) tag

100_6505

and cut off a strip from the dictionary page to create this flower with a pink paislee brad

100_6512

Journaling :)

100_6507

and this page of Jessica

100_6509

Love that rubons resist the glimmer mist and ‘show’ through.
For this page I used a Kitschy strawberry, the drink label and an Elles tag

100_6515

as well as the “Self Esteem Themed Vintage Bookpaper”, vintage Bridge Score Card and the Great Ideas Notepaper.
The journaling

100_6513

Some of us have coughy colds, Jessica, Elizabeth, Lucy and I, and I am hoping that by Thursday these might have eased too
Lucy and I have another day at home planned for tomorrow before our full Wednesday and then packing Thursday
The girls aren’t going to school Thursday and Dave isn’t going to work so all the organizing can wait till then :)

Mixing the old into the new

I have been aware that my ‘scrap style’ has been changing
I still can’t put myself into a style box, other than evolving lol
I like where I’m at right now but really struggle with same ol’ same ol’ and being stagnant
I have also ‘rediscovered’ some of my older favourite techniques and am enjoying mixing them into this new phase and it has also helped the “same ol’” by changing it up a little
So this afternoon I just played around, using the old and mixing it into the new, to create this page of Jessica and I

Snuggle Bug

Enjoyed journaling with the correction pen and black sharpie

100_6470

altering my alpha stickers with a yellow texta and black sharpie pen and using ‘different’ placement of letters

 100_6471

Made this ribbon flower, love blue and yellow together

100_6472

So there you go :)
Old and new, not a bad combo me thinks :)

And so I create…

It’s been cold
It’s been wet
It’s rained
And it’s rained
So while the girls have been at school Lucy and I have nuggled under a blanket while we watched The Fairies on telly
Would have been nice to spend all day doing that but I didn’t :) and neither did she lol
Tuesday I was inspired by Donna Downey’s creations so pulled out some paints and made these

100_6420

I had missed my hole punch :)
Made this for Megan

100_6422

and this for Jessica

 100_6428

Not inspired by Donna but by the fact that I often find an toilet roll that needs replacing I created this ummm statement…

100_6419

Yesterday Elizabeth came home with this Elephant mask that she had made at school

100_6429

This week has been another ‘better’ week and on Tuesday I made this page about her ‘rewards’

100_6425

Yep that’s an opened out envelope there in the blue and white, love that :)

Journaling, and the heart was from Gudrun

100_6426

Last night Jessica was enrolled at Guides

so it was a late night for our little rabbits and boy you could tell :)
I took the girls to get their haircuts this afternoon and crossed another thing off my ‘have to do before we go away’ list :)
Today I  also had a little play, making this page inspired by the new One Little Word challenge prompt, Beauty

100_6463

was nice to pull out the masking tape and corrugated cardboard again, mix in some pattern paper, machine stitching and paint… bliss :)

100_6466

Did you spy some more of Gudrun’s paper down there at the bottom?? Delish!

100_6465

Close up of journaling :) Oh and I made the ‘Y’ using a ‘v’ and the top off an ‘f’

100_6464

Well that’s that
Friday tomorrow, can’t say YAY loud enough!
Off to visit my Great Aunt in the morning and then hope to find some time in the afternoon with some scrapping, we will see :)

Let The Countdown Begin

10 sleeps and we will be heading off on our adventure to Grandma’s house
Catching the boat will be ummmm fun lol
We have no plans for how we will spend our time when we get there but we are all looking forward to a break from the norm, seeing Grandma and Grandpa (Dave’s Mum and Stepdad), filling our days with STUFF oh and of course shopping ;)
Each of the girls spoke to Grandma on the phone this afternoon and all are very excited about seeing her soon, yes me too :) :)

After yesterday’s sunshine it poured from about midnight on, yes I was awake and heard it… one of those nights :)
Today was a little windy but I got the towels out and dry so that made me happy, sort of wished I had put all the washing out but it’s almost dry on the airers so I have to be happy with that :)
Dave’s van had to go in to be fixed, thankfully only costing $150 not thousands, and apart from Lucy and I going to the library the day was spent around home and I scrapped this page

100_6407

Went a little crazy with the sewing maching

100_6411

Love these buttons from Such Sweet Tierney

100_6409

and the journaling (please add an ‘e’ to difference because my type writer did not lol)

100_6410

Oh and I just spied the new Q Tea September kit, now this looks like fun

It’s ready to be shipped on the 4th so you better head on over to the Q Tea blog if you want to snaffle one because, as always, stock is limited.

Give Me Sunshine…

and I will give you lots of photos :)

We all enjoyed the sun that came our way this afternoon
The girls went straight for the trampoline, as soon as we got home from Church this morning, and after lunch Dave headed for the lawn mower as the lawn had been waiting for a ‘dry’ day so it could have a much needed trim ;)

The girls loved getting busy out in the backyard again

Megan and I had some fun with the camera, will show you what we did at the end of this post,

and then this little monkey, also known as Lucy, wanted some photos taken too
She wanted some of her climbing the apricot tree

and balancing, cos she is clever you know!

Speaking of clever…
I finished 2 layouts last night

 100_6299

This is one of those pages where I want to say something, something that the girls will ‘hear’ later on in life…
It’s information, information that I want to share with them, hence using this Scenic Route rubon

100_6302

the blue bits of paper are actually from some junk mail that Dave received and I snaffled up

100_6301

because I wanted to use the words “Make It So”
And I did :)

100_6300

American Crafts have a challenge happening on their blog, to use sewing and at least 2 of their products, so I thought I would give that a go :)

100_6303

For this page I used 3 AC papers Moda Bella – Timeless, Craftfair – Midge Gathermore and the base paper is Teen – Tardy Slip and the thickers are Dolce Fabric (Apricot) and Typo Chipboard (Peacock)

100_6305

The journaling, around the outside of the paper, is all about what they used to get up to in their backyard and it was LOTS lol and as you can see I used heaps of stitching on a scrap piece of brown paper

100_6306

Ok so the photos I took with Megan…
We had fun with the camera

She is always happy to take part in stuff like this and I am glad, because I love it when she is happy and I get a photo like this :)

Oh and speaking of fun…
While I cooked dinner I started reading this

Very cool and inspiring book, very FUN!!

The Rain Stayed Away

So a soccering we went
Thankfully Dave took pity on us and took Jessica to her 9am game and the rest of us stayed home where it was warmer :)
Then we all ventured out to Megan’s noon game

Dave made sure they were all warmed up and ready to go

I spied a tree full of beautiful blossoms

Jessica, Elizabeth and Lucy spied some dirt that they could play in

and I spied this, as we left. Makes more sense having it on the ground than on a sign, after all dogs are more likely to see it near a wall aren’t they??!!

Scrapped this page yesterday, finished it off quickly this morning

used some of the 3ndypapir paper Gudrun sent me

100_6282

Journaling and the little fish was part of the June Q Tea kit

100_6281

Because Megan’s soccer game went a little later than expected we had to drop Dave off at his game so we will soon have to go pick him up
My pal Allison is coming over for some scrap time so have the roast in the oven and it’s smelling mighty fine :)
