I Want To See Fireworks

and the thunderstorm happening right now is more than fulfilling that want!!
It started more than an hour ago and is still in full play
Dave and I went out to watch
The moon was watching too

100_9216com

so keep in mind that it was that dark
This is the photo I got of the lightening filling the cloudy sky above Mount Wellington

100_9197com

It is now pouring with glorious rain that is cooling everything down after out hot day
This morning, as promised, we set up the present that we gave Lucy and Elizabeth for their ‘second Christmas’
100_9175com

It is a crystal garden
Here is the photo I took 8-9 hours later

100_9177com

This morning we also went shopping to get all the goodies for our New Years Eve dinner
Each year we have a ‘finger food’ dinner followed by a movie or games or something and snacky food to end the night
This year our dinner looked like this

100_9182com

before we all tucked in!

100_9183com

100_9185com

The girls then watched a movie, rang their cousins, ate pop corn and cheezels, watched another movie and are now in bed, 2 of the 4 are asleep but it’s still hot inside so the bigger two are in and out complaining about the heat or the thunderstorm :)
Dave is playing the Wii while eating some leftover mango pudding and I am being naughty eating Bbq samboy chips while I blog :) When I’m finished blogging the chips will go away and I might nuggle Dave while watching some more of the lightening and see in the New Year :)
Hope you all have a fabulous New Years Eve and may 2010 be full of wonderful surprises :) I am thankful to start the new year with family back home. 2009 has been a tiring and trying year and 2010 is looking to be a year of change. It will be a year of transition for me. With Lucy starting Kinder it means that I start on the new stage of life, being a mum with 2 days and no kids at home. It will be a year of possibilities and I am looking forward to seeing what unfolds through the year and the doors that will open and the new adventures that are awaiting to be had. Bring on Twenty Ten because I am ready to rumble!!

I Want A Second Christmas Lunch

So tomorrow we will

100_9131com

But first I want to say HAPPY CHRISTMAS to you all and hope you had a lovely time with family, loved ones or just yourself and a slice of turkey
However you spent the day, I hope you remembered the blessings in your life and that your day was merry and bright :)

Life here has been busy and tiring
So haven’t been blogging
Just too tired, and that makes me lack motivation to sit and think
Haven’t even taken many photos
which doesn’t help my motivation to blog
But we have been making the most of each day and each day has been full
This photo was from last week, when we had a moment at home and I took a moment to absorb some sunshine, with a coffee, my lunch and a new book from the library

100_9123com

Last week was also my birthday
I received some lovely gifts and we had dinner with Dad, at his place
Was an eventful night because we got part of the way there when the van brakes ceased up
After a call to the roadside help man we were able to drive back home and swap vans, yay to being a 2 car family!!!

The girls and I had been making lots of different Christmas treats

100_9127com

These ones are simply chocolate, marshmellow, more chocolate and an M and M on top
Megan sorted out the red and green ones for me and we made 100 of these
With the left over M and M’s I made these gifts

100_9130com

I bought a Christmas Angel suit recently, thinking it was a kids size Santa suit
Lucy found it and wore it over and over and over and over, that’s her in the top photo
and this is the only other photo she would allow me to take

100_9133com

Christmas Eve is much anticipated in our house
We spend the evening travelling around like this

100_9135com

100_9137com

dropping off presents to our friends
We literally drop them off
Leave the present
Knock on the door
and jump back into the car with a loud HO HO HO out the window
120km and 4 hours later we were done :)
Home to sprinkle some reindeer food

100_9140com

put out some sacks and a snack for Santa

100_9141com

and then the waiting began

100_9143com

this year Megan decided that she wasn’t going to go to sleep anytime soon
By 2.30am I had had enough waiting and decided that Santa better get to work or there would be no happy Mumma in the morning!!
3am the sacks were filled and poor Dave and I went to bed
5.30am we were awoken by Elizabeth and Lucy who were VERY ready to see what had happened in the lounge room over night
So the sacks were emptied and the toys were opened
This year the girls had a box of lego or duplo each

 100_9145com

and this was the cleanest the floor has looked since!
We spent the rest of the morning playing with new toys

100_9147com

 100_9150com

Before Dad arrived for lunch

 100_9158com

 100_9160com

This year we decided that we would open our presents after lunch and before dessert

100_9162com

and no one argued :)
Dessert was worth the wait :)

100_9163com

So that was our Christmas day
Boxing day we took the girls to the sales and they each got to spend their Christmas money
We also spent ours and now we are a Wii family

Sunday we went down to Dad’s in an attempt to help him clean
Because yesterday, Monday, Mum, my sister and her girls returned home YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY
which is why tomorrow we will be having our second Christmas lunch
New presents under the tree
New desserts made
and we are all looking forward to the new year and all that it may offer
In the meantime I know that there will be plenty more of time spent with each other and lots more of this

I Want A Blog That Is Up To Date

So I better get typing!!
This little chicky was in hospital on Friday100_9084com

She had fluid taken off her ears and grommets put in
She was super brave
Which was helped by the new friend we found, while shopping prior to our hospital appointment

100_9086com

and that Mummy and Daddy were there with her
Mummy even had to dress up so she could go in with her

100_9085com

(love the photo angle but not as much as I love that Elizabeth took the photo!)
She was so brave that the nurses kept saying how wonderful she was and she was given not one but two certificates, as proof of her braveness!

100_9087com

the nurses were lovely
It was a long day and so proud of Elizabeth, she didn’t complain once about not being able to eat or drink and not once about waiting
LOVE HER!

Dave has been dreaming in colour

100_9090com

wanting to put up more of his Christmas lights but not knowing where to put them
So he ‘dressed up’ the kids boat/sandpit-that-has-no-sand

100_9091com

so it looks pretty at night too

100_9092com

we started making some Christmas treats
and, as always, someone has to lick the bowl

100_9109com

there has been quite a bit of this

100_9118com

which always includes MUCH noise
See the Christmas Tree/Christmas lights in the background??!!
I have been working on some Christmas gifts
Painting up some canvases and hoping HOPING that they are an appreciated gift

and there
think I am up to date now lol

Oh and there was this news too, coolies :) :)

I Want To Capture Them Growing Up

Here they are on the first day of school this year

and here they are today, on the last day of the school year
Their hair has grown
They are taller
They have learnt so much this year
In school and out
It has been a long year indeed

lastdayschool09

Wanted to take the same sort of photo, as the first day, but it has been pouring with rain so it had to be an inside photo
They were meant to have their last day out at a park for a school picnic
but instead have stayed at school indoors out of the rain
We are also meant to be having a BBQ tonight, for Dave’s work, but still waiting to hear about that one
The rain hasn’t eased at all, it’s just streaming down
Have already had to go unblock the drain near the garage as it had blocked and was flooding
Happy Happy Joy Joy :)
Right the winner of the buysterlighting voucher is….
Shazz
Congrats!!!! Will be in contact so I can pass on your details to buyster and mail off some scrap goodies :)
Thanks to everyone who dropped by and entered :)

Things have gone into overdrive here
Dave is slowly putting up more lights, none out the front due to last years vandals, so the backyard is looking well lit!!
You can see here, when I used the flash, the back fence

100_9045com

and without the flash

100_9046com

love me some swirly light photos ;)

100_9054com

Yesterday was HOT, in contrast to today's cold and wet day
Lucy and I were excited to find 4 very cool letters waiting in our mailbox

100_9059com

each of the girls had a letter from Santa

100_9066com

Lucy had her jumper on because the air conditioner was on inside and it made her feel cold lol
Yesterday I scrapped this page

100_9067 100_9070

Loved the new Such Sweet Tierney buttons I got from London

100_9071

Tomorrow is another full day
Visit Dad in the morning
Dave is having a carers day off as we are leaving Megan, Jessica and Lucy at Dad’s and taking Elizabeth in to hospital to have grommets
We visited the Ears Nose Throat specialist on Monday and he booked us straight in and hoping the operation goes well, clears up the fluid she still has on her ears and once the eardrums have healed we hope her hearing gets back to normal
Dave’s Dad rang the other day to say he was going to visit Saturday, for lunch and then again for dinner
We are thankful we get to see him and hopefully get to meet his girlfriend

No time to rest here lol
All go… go… go
and still lots to do
Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy

I Want To Give Someone A Christmas Present

You may remember how I was talking about lamps a while ago
and how the generous people at buysterlighting allowed me to pick my own lamp, which is now set up over my scrap table and is very cool and provides amble lighting
Well, I have been asked to give one of you lucky people a $50 voucher to spend
Sadly the giveaway is only open to Australians, because it’s an Aussie online store
So how can you win the voucher??
Three ways
1.Leave a comment on this post and you will receive one entry
2. Leave a comment telling me you mentioned this post on your own blog, and with your blog address so I can verify, and you get another entry
and 3. Leave a comment telling me you mentioned this post on facebook and you will receive another entry

You have till Thursday 9am (Tasmania time) to enter and then I will email the winner and announce who won. The winner will need to supply their postal address, contact number and full name so I can pass it on to the lovely people from buyster
So a $50 voucher sound like a nice Christmas present??
Well, I will also add some scrap stuff to this cool RAK and I will send some crafty supplies to the winner as well
I’d throw in some steak knives too but they are wrapped and under the tree for someone else ;) :)

I Want To Take A Photo Of My Banana Bread

because I am a good Daughter in Law and I was told asked to do so :)

100_9041

There you go Grandma, recipe was from here, the loaf is now 3/4 gone though and I almost got a 10/10 from everyone! So I think I will be baking it again, I was getting sick of wasting all the bananas that were coming home uneaten and mushy from being in the lunchbox all day
Yesterday I went to a Baby Shower, for my best friend, and her hubby, who is home from England
They are home till the baby arrives and then heading back to the UK
The baby shower was fun and it was fabulous to catch up again
I made this card using another doily from Jodi and the gorgeous covered button from Michelle

100_9037

This morning the girls had their Christmas presentation at Church
and this afternoon we got busy on their school Christmas gifts
While I was gone yesterday Dave and the girls made some Christmas tags
Because of time and money I decided that rather than make cards for their friends we would just stick a Christmas gift label on to cardstock and tie it onto a candy cane
Quick and easy Christmas card+gift for their friends
Even Lucy got to share in the 40 that we put together

100_9038

Also this afternoon the girls made their thank you gifts for their teachers
They each painted up a 5cmx5cm canvas and I will wrap these up with an easel and a thank you card
Here’s just a sample of the 8 they painted
One of Jessica’s on the left, two of Elizabeth’s in the middle and one of Megan’s on the right

100_9040

and now I will leave you with a page I made for Karen’s Scrappin’ Kupboard

100_8941

The cool chipboard owls are covered in Glitz “Rebel” paper, Tim Holtz crackle paint around the edges and Ranger stickles

100_8942100_8943

and pulled out the trusty dymo for my journaling :) :)
