They Like To Go Out For Lunch

and I won’t lie…
So do I :)
Last night I started this, while Dave picked up Megan from Guides

100_0955

LOVE the new buttons I received from Such Sweet Tierney and thought I would use some cardboard, for challenge 64 at Method Playground, and added both of these to a piece of doily to make a flower
I then cut the sucker in half :)

100_0941

the chipboard buttons are so easy to cut through
The cardboard was from the outside of the cup of coffee I purchased at the fair over the weekend
Peeled it off and kept it for such a time as this ;)

100_0940

and I am loving the new shipping tags that I purchased from Mr Rabbit, sir on Etsy

100_0939

Used a grey tag with some altered Such Sweet Tierney buttons from my stash

And speaking of going out for lunch…
This morning Lucy and I went into town
We went and had a coffee/mini cino

100_0943com

then met my pal Allison, in her lunch break, and went to have a bite to eat

100_0946com

Good time had by all ;)

They Are All Fair-ed Out

and so am I
Today we spent the day at school
For the school fair
Lots of fun
Lots to see
Lots to do
Lots to eat
And lots to drink
Elizabeth with a raspberry spider

 100_0892com

Megan and Jessica did some busking
Megan played her guitar

100_0898com

You might see she isn’t playing any notes
She made up a song and just strums the tune
The fair had a Magic, Mayhem and Mystery theme
Megan is dressed as a spy :)
I didn’t see much of Megan throughout the rest of the day, she went off wandering the fair with her friends
So this is the only photo I have of her

Jessica’s Marimba group played for a while too

100_0900com

Dave left around then to go to soccer, they won :)
Jessica, Elizabeth and Lucy got to have their faces painted
They played lots of games in the ‘side show’ alley like part of the fair
Where everyone won a prize
Jessica enjoying hers

100_0906

Lucy, when she wasn’t attached to her best friend from Kinder, went on the jumping castle(s) a couple of times

100_0902com

and when we got home, this afternoon, I put together a scrap pack present for Megan to take to a friends birthday

100_0907

and now I am off to pick her up and will be glad to put my feet up :)

They Amuse And Amaze

The lovely Suzie, boss lady at Love Scrappin’, sent me some of the Jillibean Soup papers, from the Egg Drop Soup range
I don’t have many Easter photos so I had to think outside the layout square a little
And this is what I came up with
Some decorated buckets for our nieces

100_0801

which I will put a toy and chocolate in

100_0803

and then I made 3 cards
An Easter-y one

100_0809

a birthday-y one

100_0810

and a birth-y one ;)

100_0812

And then I made this page

100_0806

and the journaling

100_0808

You can read Suzie’s blog to see a little more on how I made these :)
PS I forgot to mention that my page won the These Are  A Few Of My Favorite Things challenge, for the Favorite Friend challenge. This week I received my prize, from Amy’s Etsy Shop

photo taken from TAAFOMFT
LOVE IT and am thankful to Amy for sponsoring that weeks challenge and the TAAFOMFT team for their amazing inspiration

They Flatter Me

Today I had my haircut
Something that usually only happens once a year
Due to the lack of time
So today I rang for an appointment
And the lovely ‘answer the phone’ hairdresser lady said I could go today
So go I went!!

100_0878com

Each of the girls, in their own way, have said it looks good
Anything would look good after looking at the lifeless mop I had prior to the cut!
Before heading to the hairdresser I made some banana bread

100_0891

Specifically for the fair school is having this weekend :)
I also made a easy peasy pear pie
It’s not really a pie
More a tart
But easy peasy pear pie sounds nicer that easy peasy pear tart
No??

100_0887com

This wasn’t for the school fair
It was for some hungry mouths
And they gobbled it up and said thank you
It really was easy peasy too
A sheet of frozen (defrosted) puff pastry
Placed it on a greased tray
Folded up the edges
Sprinkled some brown sugar on it
Sliced up the ‘about to grow legs’ pears (I used 3 because they were very mushy)
Trickled on some honey
Sprinkled on some cinnamon cos our girls LOOOOOVE cinnamon
And cooked it till the pastry was golden brown :)

See Easy PAAAAEASY!!
If I make it again I won’t use as much honey, cos that ran off and caramalised too much for my liking :)

Oh and I got this in the mail today

100_0844

It’s from my best friend’s best friend
Cos we aren’t exclusive or anything ;)

Isn’t the card gorgeous??? LOVE IT Thanks Manda!!
But what she wrote inside got me thinking
It spoke to me because she knows me in real life
I have often had online friends say wonderful things to me
About me
But sometimes you wonder if they are just saying it to be nice
Like… If they really knew me… would they say those things?
Not that I don’t appreciate those words
COS I DO
But when you hear it from someone that knows you in real life…
Well it’s very heartwarming and makes you grow a few inches
I spose what I am trying to say is who have you reached out to today?
Who have you spoken words of encouragement to?
Something as easy as a phone call
Something as worthwhile as sending a card
Something that says you are thought of, appreciated and loved
Something real
Something meaningful

You never know what the other person is really thinking until you hear it
and you never know how much your comments impact on the the other person
Don’t leave it till tomorrow
go tell someone now :)

They Like Laptop-ing in the Sun

There! I made up another word
Laptop-ing
To use ones laptop
Laptop-ing
And that’s what Lucy did today
In the shade of the greengage tree

100_0837com

I was feeling a little jealous
wanting a laptop of my own, so I could go a laptop-ing too
But then I saw the serious look on her face

 100_0835com

and was glad there was one less stress in my life
So I just enjoyed the sunshine instead :)

And I enjoyed this

new scrapbooking idea book from Scrapbook Inspirations magazine

Scrapbook Inspirations (UK Scrap Magazine) closed down their monthly magazine last year and are resurfacing in 2010 with Quarterly Idea books. This one goes on sale next week (in the UK) and I have a page in it!!! In fact my page is even there on this promo cover, can you guess which one?? Its my very first publication from a submission and I am chuffed at that :) You can read more about the book and how to buy it over on Shimelle’s blog, she had the amazing job of editor, or in this post here. Can’t wait to get a copy of the book. E..X..C..I..T..I..N..G!!!

They Miss Him Too

But he will be home soon and we will be happier :)
As promised here is the page I made for my first Banana Frog post

100_0721

You can read all about how I made it and what stamps I used here
and here are some close ups :)

100_0722

100_0717

100_0719

I don’t usually stretch the creating of pages out over 2 days
It’s a sign of me being tired and not being able to think properly
but yesterday I started this page, completed it today

100_0734

Yes it’s another banner you spy there
But I do like the Sassafras Lass stickers and this one seemed ideal for this page :)

100_0737

and a touch of whimsy with the Kitty Robot mushroom

100_0739

and a Kikki-k sticky note for the journaling :)

100_0736

Busy weekend ahead
Note to self : remember to vote tomorrow!
