I Felt So Alone On A Busy Street

Another “Farmer’s Market” kit layout
This one features on the Cocoa Daisy’s exclusive stamps
honeycomb

IMG_6095

I popped out all the letters in the Jillibean Soup corrugated alpha sheet,
used the background as a mask
and sprayed over it with some purple glimmer mist

IMG_6096

I painted the wooden buttons (found in the main kit)
Stitched across the title

IMG_6097

added a “in house joke”

IMG_6099

and the journaling

IMG_6100

Had a long day in the school canteen today
Don’t know why more parents haven’t clued in that a day in canteen is better than hitting the gym!
It is a good way to get a work out!!

Let’s Get Grubby

My second layout, using the October kits from Cocoa Daisy
is about meeting Dirt Girl

IMG_6087

the ‘natural’ colours just worked for this page

IMG_6088

and I could add some pops of red with the addition of a seed packet
a memento from the day

IMG_6089

LOVE the gnomes that are on the Jillibean Soup diecuts (in the ‘Apple Pie’ Add on)

IMG_6091

I added some ‘pop’ by adding a foam dot
and using the apple that I had punched out of a diecut from my previous layout

IMG_6109

did you see my title?
I used the corrugated alphas (in the ‘Canned Peaches’ add on)
adhered them with paint
when that was dry I traced around each letter

IMG_6092

I then, carefully, peeled off the top layer
revealing the grungier layer underneath
PERFECT
I think lol

If All The World Were Apple Pie

Did I tell you I just love the October kit from Cocoa Daisy??
Well it’s true!
Farmer’s Market has lots of fabulous products and so far I have now made 3 layouts and 2 cards
So rather than bombard you with one big post
I thought I would take the time to show you each creation separately
because I have a little technique to share with each
This is my first page

IMG_6073

Apart from the main kit I also used the ‘Canned Peaches’ and ‘Apple Pie’  addons
I used the gorgeous apple stamp, in the ‘Apple Pie’ kit
I then layered it up
I punched out the middle of a Jillibean Soup ‘Apple Cheddar’ Diecut Shape
and topped it with one of the American Crafts flair

IMG_6074

in honour of the wonderful Emily Pitts joining the Cocoa Daisy team I hand cut my part of my title

IMG_6075

I ruffled some pattern paper strips

IMG_6076

and I made a journal block
using one of the pages from the Maya Road Apple Chipboard Coaster album (available in the Apple Pie Addon)
I covered it with some of the Crate pattern paper
stitched around the shape

IMG_6078

To make my journaling stand out
I printed it out onto acetate
and then, turning the page over, I ran a white paint pen over each line of journaling
making the journaling pop against the pattern paper

IMG_6068

Back later with another page and another technique

Until The Rainbow Burns The Stars Out In The Sky

Today he visited me at work
Today he knew
Today he looked beyond
Today he chose
Today he stepped out
Today he went above and beyond
Today he made me smile
Today he loved

IMG_6005alt

It wasn’t with flowers
It wasn’t with words
It wasn’t with selfish intentions

It was for me
It was what I needed
It was an act of love

and I am grateful
I am loved

I’m Not Gonna Write You A Love Song

This page is inspired by some lyrics in Colbie Caillat’s song “You Got Me”

IMG_6027

played with some layers

IMG_6029

my typewriter

IMG_6030

and let the lyrics say what I wanted to say

IMG_6033

that’s all
full stop

You Are Beautiful No Matter What They Say

There are some things I think that are important to say
and some things that I think are important to remember
and some thing that I think are important to scrap
this page is important

IMG_6009

it was also fun to make

IMG_6010

Crate pattern paper and a Crafter’s Workshop stencil always make me smile

IMG_6014

lots of lettering and adding a cute Amy Tangerine camera make me smile

IMG_6012

and this heart, that I made, makes me smile too
A while back I received a prize pack from the amazing Louise Nelson
In the pack was a gorgeous tissue covered in music print and love hearts
I cut out one of them, glued it onto some corrugated cardboard
Stitched around the heart
Cut it out
Added some dimensional glue
and ran a black sharpie pen around the outside

IMG_6013

happy that something important has been said/remembered/scrapped!

I’m Happy When I’m Hiking

When I saw that the new Scrap The Girls challenge was to use a clip
I knew I wanted to play
This page has been waiting to be made since the beginning of the month
when Megan took her new boots for a bush walk
IMG_5953
I am really loving Amy Tangerine’s new line from American Crafts
love the slate Goodness thickers
IMG_5956
and love the ‘bits’,
IMG_5957
sigh
IMG_5958
had you noticed my shipping tag hiatus??

IMG_5959
wasn’t very long but…
I think it’s over lol
The background paper is a photocopy of the map
Megan brought that home before they went
Love that I could add it

Always Sunny In The Rich Man’s World

The lovely Lisa has been hosting weekly challenges on the Cocoa Daisy forum
Challenge #4 is a scrap lift and journal a story challenge.
I finally had time to play along and here is my take on the challenge

IMG_5945

love the Amy Tangerine dimensional pieces
layered this one up with a 7gypsies Paddington Tag
and some Prima alphas

IMG_5949

added some layers

IMG_5950

and a bit of journaling

IMG_5952

And because I remembered, the misted background is the excess from my previous page
It’s Studio Calico Mister Huey’s Heirloom Blue
I was hoping it would be more blue
but it’s more green
Oh well, still like it lol

Pease Pudding and Saveloys!

The girls just love cooking shows
and they just love playing restaurants and shops
Over the weekend we watch Jamie Oliver’s 30 minute meals
We watched an episode we had watched before
so tonight I pulled out my copy of his book

IMG_5974com

and cooked an altered version of his Peri Peri chicken and smashed sweet potato

IMG_5991com

I didn’t have all the ingredients but it was still delicious
and Jessica, who doesn’t like chilli, ate it and wanted more
Today the sun was out and it’s been quite mild
So, for the first time in a long time, the girls played outside from the moment we got home till dinnertime
Megan had a restaurant

IMG_5987com
Yes she whistles while she works lol
Jessica a herb shop

IMG_5977com

yes it was a la-dee-da shop
and Elizabeth claimed her favourite spot in the backyard
and had a shop, with a counter

IMG_5980com

Lucy was the customer and lugged a handbag between the three
So thankful for sunshiny afternoons like these

People Who Have Short Hair Write Short Hair Songs

Another full weekend
before school starts back tomorrow
Yesterday we met up with the M&Ms again
this time to do a little of this

or rather 3.1km of this
They rolled
I walked
Today Jessica had a birthday party to go to
She took her bike and they all got to roll around a skate bowl
I took some photos when we went to pick her up
I took some photos of the graffiti
because I thought they were cool
someone else thought they were cool and was happy to pose for a photo

or two

or three

I am glad that I had time to play today
I am glad that I was able to create
I am glad that I was able to create this page

IMG_5846

If you haven’t seen Debbie’s blog go check it out

IMG_5848

her enthusiasm of life is amazing
and I am glad that I was able to spend some time with her when I was in Brisbane in June

IMG_5849

used some printables from Shabby Chic Crafts
and the gorgeous camera from Amy Tangerine’s new line with American Crafts
but I removed the heart that was behind the camera

IMG_5850

and some more journaling
