I Love That Face

Tougher day today
we had tears for the first time today
poor kid
Hoping tomorrow isn’t as rough

Another page from my Tattered Angels design team submission

IMG_7089

used some alpha stickers as a mask

IMG_7092

love that photo, of that cheeky monkey

IMG_7093

and the story behind the photo

IMG_7095

seems such a long time ago

She Puts The Colour Inside Of My World

Day 5
She’s struggled a bit today

but she’s a champion
and distraction is helpful

and Littlest Pet Shop are the most helpful
washing them made her sing

drying them made her chatter

and seeing them sunbake

makes me smile

A Pocketful Of Posies

I made a few pages for the recent Tattered Angels design team call
Thought I’d share them with you, being that the team has now been picked and I like to share

IMG_7084

The page is in honour of the gorgeous flowers I received for my Almost 40 days to 40 birthday
They are from my pal Rose (aka Rosie Posie)

IMG_7086

I used a glimmer glass butterfly from the Tattered Angels Glimmer glass album as a mask
misted over it with some “Fully Purple” glimmer mist

IMG_7087

added some flowers, that I purchased from D-lish Scraps

IMG_7088

and gave my dymo a run with some pink tape

Elizabeth’s operation went well and so is her recovery
Today she’s started to have a little more pain and discomfort
but I think that the morning we had really didn’t help
Jessica was home today and we spent the morning at the doctor
and then the chemist, getting medicine for Jessica’s sinus infection
This afternoon we rested
Reading up on tonsillectomies I have read that day 4-6 are meant to be the most painful
So hoping she gets through the next few days as well as she has so far.

Could You Smile A Little Smile For Me?

Scheduled blog post
Tonight I am in the hospital with Elizabeth
If you are my friend on Facebook you should be seeing updates on the op
and possibly updates on her recovery and my sleepless night
The Cocoa Daisy Fall crop challenges deadline is this weekend
I would have like to have completed more of the challenges
But this is my last one
It’s for Stephanie’s vintage challenge

IMG_7203

love the layers

IMG_7206

and I love this pattern paper, glad I found a use for it instead of ogling over it!

IMG_7208

and glad I typed up the sentimental journaling

IMG_7210

How do you add buttons that have an eye on the back??

IMG_7207

Thought it’d tell you what I do
sometimes I cut the back off, so they sit flat,
Or this time I cut a slit in the paper
Stuck the eye through
Then, on the back, I stitched them together
so it looks like this on the back

IMG_7212

easy!

You Look Like A Monkey

How was your day?
Mine was a hospital filled one
More on that in a minute
When I uploaded the photos, that I wanted to blog with
I really wondered about what photo to share first
You see the first photo is the one people see first
it is the one that might draw you in
or turn you off
so I decided to go with this one
and left the ‘other one’ for last

IMG_7240

this is my hybrid page for Tracy Martin Scrapbook Designs using her very cool Celebrate kit

IMG_7243

perfect for photos from Dad’s “Surprise party”

IMG_7244

as he hammed it up for the camera!

IMG_7245

Right
The ‘other’ photo
Tomorrow we say goodbye to these

IMG_7273

See those horrid tonsils??
Tomorrow they come out
This morning Elizabeth and I had her pre-admission appointment
She was given a lollipop, a stamp on each hand, a magazine and had the man at reception say what a well mannered girl she was
After her appointment we went shopping for some operation day supplies
A colour in book, some textas, a reading book and a new Littlest Pet Shop
She isn’t too fazed by the thought of tomorrow
I know this might change post op
I’m hoping everything goes smoothly

This afternoon I was back at the hospital
this time for an appointment for Megan
She’d had one on Monday
but was back today for a skin biopsy
today they took a 3mm cylinder shaped chunk
Megan was so brave
I am so proud of her
She now has a stitch on her palm
They took it from a spot where her skin has hardened
We go back in over a week for the results and hopefully moving on to the real reason we went there
To get some help
To arm Megan with information

There’s A World Of Deep Blue Sea

Today I went with this little chicky on a class excursion

we went to the Woodbridge Marine Discovery Centre
and she loved it
Especially things like this

and ESPECIALLY this

That’s a shark in the tank
A baby draughtboard shark or swell shark
was a good day

And a page share??
This is the page I made for Kim’s repurpose challenge

IMG_6881

I used pieces form the November kit
The ‘nest’ is made from the leftovers from the Glitz alpha stitkcers

IMG_6884

I gave new life to the Jillibean Soup alpha leftovers too

IMG_6885

and I also made use of the Crate border sticker leftovers

IMG_6886

and my feelings on the opportunity to be amongst some amazing people in an amazing place…

IMG_6888

‘tis true!

Living Is Easy With Eyes Closed, Misunderstanding All You See

The Cocoa Daisy Fall Crop is almost over
But there has been lots happening and still loads to come
I played along with Emily’s challenge and created this page

IMG_7096

Used pattern paper from past Cocoa Daisy kits

IMG_7099

and this photo, taken by Megan at my “Almost 40 days to 40” birthday party

IMG_7100

It’s of my Dad and Dave’s Dad (my Dad had his birthday on Monday and Dave’s Dad had his birthday today)
This afternoon we headed back to the same park
This time for Dave’s work family BBQ
there was a visit from this ol’ fella

IMG_7225com

The girls all had a nice time!

When we got home I had some help to pick our first bowl of these

IMG_7234com

The girls had a nice time eating them!

If I Could Talk To The Animals

Spent the morning at Zoo Doo
Someone was in her element and was over the moon happy to be the first to hold this fella
