I’d Rather Be Catching Rainbows

Amongst the minutes of today I -
*Picked baby spinach leaves in the rain
*Emptied the dishwasher 3 times
*Stewed a pot of apples
*Made a yummy scrummy lasagna
*Made this page

A close up

You Sure Do Make It Like A Sunny Day

The new “Make It Yourself”  challenge over at Aussie Scrap Source is to make your own flowers
This is the page I made

100_4284

I made my flower using some scrap cardboard, some paint and a pompom, cut from some pompom trim

100_4285

Had to use my bright and wonderful friend yellow as this page is all about sunflower seeds

100_4287

and I had some fun making this page
With some paint, masking tape, string, buttons and I gave new life to an old envelope

100_4288

oh and there is also some machine stitching a a touch of doodling on the page too, cos you know I love these

100_4289

today I spent some of the day at the Southern Primary School Sports Association carnival
Jessica represented her school in one of the 100m races for her age group
I just love this photo that I snapped

IMG_2907com

that’s her in the front
and here she is again

IMG_2908com

with her ribbon
Last year she got a 4th ribbon so she keeps saying how she got her personal best Smile
Gotta love that!!

The Slowly Creeping Hand

You know those days where you seem to be pedaling backwards instead of forward
You know those days where you seem to go through the motions but not get anything done
You know those days where you seem to plod along, uphill, but not quite get to the top
That’s how today has felt
It hasn’t gotten to me but I have recoginsed that it is one of those days
And I’ve also acknowledged that tomorrow ain’t today!
The dreary weather was good for making fun scrap messes

100_4275

and lots to show in amongst this mess
The ‘2’ tag and the ‘I love you’, which is a stamp, are from Kikki-k
And then there is some layering

100_4278

some junk mail that has been given a much better life, thank you Readers Digest lottery junk mail!

100_4279

some stamping (made use of my circle cork stamp), some doodling, some paint, some hand stitching…

100_4280

and some journaling, and here you can see how tired I am… the photo is from Dec 2010 not Feb 2011
Just shows how fast the year has flown!

100_4281

Not much sleep last night, which is probably why the day has been a ‘drudge-y’ one
A busy day tomorrow so the drudge-ies better stay away Smile
Hope your day is drudge free too Smile

Look At The Stars, Look How They Shine For You

The new challenge at Aussie Scrap Source is to make your own stamp
So I did
Actually I made three
and used them on this page

100_4258

Ross is the team that our girls are on at school, the yellow team, for sporting events>
Question…
Do you correct your spelling mistakes or rewrite so noone would ever know??
I correct mine, usually just writing over the top
I wrote time instead of team… could have been worse… could have written teen!!!

100_4261

Love mixing up pattern papers, especially when they are yellow Smile

100_4262

had to search to find some yellow buttons ?!?!

100_4264

oh and the stamping….
Did you see it??

100_4263

I used a cork to make the two circle stamps

IMG_2889

love that you can make a double sided stamp with a cork

IMG_2890

Love the little lines in the cork and the effect they give with the ink

IMG_2895

the other stamp I made was using a doily on the acrylic block and covering it with some paint

IMG_2891

love the texture that stamping with paint adds

IMG_2894

really enjoying these challenges, love anything that inspires people to make their own/use what they already have Smile

Summer Is Gone, But Our Love Will Remain

Seems our Saturday has slipped on by so quick that I almost blinked and missed it
Pulled out the bread maker this afternoon and have baked 2 loaves in it
One was still doughy the other I am yet to cut but it rose… A LOT!
It was my turn to share over on the Banana Frog blog
This is the page I made for my post

100_4240

You can read my post here but here are some close ups

100_4243

100_4244

100_4245

and my journaling

100_4241

Oh and the cardstock was some of the Bling paper from Bazzill Basics
I’ve always had problems with the paper because stamping ink smudges, pen ink doesn’t seem to go on as smoothly
and things don’t stick as well as normal cardstock
well problem solved…
I just added a layer of paint and everything was good again Smile Smile
