Purple Haze All In My Brain

Green and Purple
who’d have thought
But I think it works

IMG_9657

as does texture paste and stencils

IMG_9660

And yes you read right
Not purple is the title for this green layout

IMG_9661

why?
Here’s why…

IMG_9662

So now everywhere we go we have to stop and look at something green she has spied
True fact!

I’m Going Where The Sun Shines Brightly

Another Chevron page
This time I tried something different
using the “negative” image of the Crafters Workshop stencil
and some punchanella

IMG_9614

I have a page with the “positive” ready to use on another page
It didn’t turn out how I wanted it to
But I was happy to play

IMG_9616

used a Scrapmatts Penny Farthing
a Bottle Cap from D-Lish Scraps

IMG_9617

washi tape (how I love thee!)

IMG_9618

and it’s been a while but my journaling is on a shipping tag

I like revisiting old favourites and adding some new ones

I've Still Got Sand In My Shoes

I wanted to make this page a few weeks ago
When the journaling would have flowed without a problem
But life got busy and I didn’t get to make the page in one go
it took a few days to finally complete this page
So the journaling was a little trickier because I wasn’t “in the moment” any more
Do you find yourself in a similar situation?
Or
Do you write the journaling and then make the page?

IMG_9587

I’m still loving the Crafter’s Workshop chevron stencil
Here I used green paint and blue Glimmer Mist

IMG_9590

I added some Scrapmatts Leaves
I covered them with some 7Gypsies rubons and ran some green paint around the edges
I also used some My Minds Eye packaging

IMG_9589

Love Love this photo

IMG_9588

and the journaling, which has not much at all to do with the photo but it all fits

IMG_9591

Happy Days!

You Bring Feeling To My Life

The lovely Paula was one of the people to stop by, and leave a comment, during the Cocoa Daisy blog hop
I returned the love and had left a comment on her blog
and she had mentioned that maybe I could try her challenge
So I did.
I made this page (excuse the raindrops that fell on the page while I took the photo)

IMG_9611

I used bits and pieces from the March Cocoa Daisy kit with a mix of things I already had

IMG_9604

cut up some My Minds Eye stickers

IMG_9605

and cut up my dymo tape

IMG_9606

Can you see the journaling??

IMG_9607

If you can’t it says:
”Megan loved Sydney because there seemed to be an ice cream shop on every corner!
She was all excited when we found the first one but by the last day she was very over it all and couldn’t look at them.
Oh and we won’t mention the three ice creams that she ate in one day!”

Thanks Paula for the inspiration to create!

There's A Little Red Wagon, Paint It Blue

I took this photo back in July or August last year
I knew what story I wanted to tell
That part was easy
It was pulling the story together on a page that was the stumbling block
But that changed when I received a packet of Scrapmatts Words

IMG_9575

as soon as I saw the Run, Jump and Play I knew that I had to use them and create the page to go with this photo

IMG_9578

I had even purchased, months ago, and saved this die cut from Collage Press

IMG_9579

added some hexagons (using the Pink Paislee packaging again)
and topped them with 2 Basic Grey fabric brads

IMG_9580

added some stitching and left the threads

IMG_9581

Love it when another story is down on paper
Means there is more room in my head
More room for more stories lol

The Future Is Always In Thee

Do you start a page
then put it away because it just isn’t working how you want need it to?
I have one on the go at the moment
It’s one I really like
one I want to breathe life into
But it’s just not heading in the right direction
So for now it sits and waits for the right moment.
Enter this page

IMG_9561

I started it months ago
Then put it away
Till some Scrapmatts Words revived the inspiration
I added a flower (from Polly Scrap) and a Kaiser black pearl

IMG_9564

A sticker from Crate and a date with my Dymo

IMG_9565

and a gorgeous chevron badge from Greatest View to end off my journaling
about my best friends son and how I am grateful for meeting him

The Beat Of The Drum Is Loud And Bold

I love to create pages that are textural but are still flat

I had a little time at my craft table this afternoon
and completed this page

Publication1

I used the Pink Paislee chipboard leftover, as a mask, and some texture paste
to add some dimension and texture

and then added some brads

some foam thickers

and some more brads

Yep, I love to create pages that are textural but are still flat

In Good Times And Bad Times

and finally my last page
using the March kits from Cocoa Daisy

my new favourite layout
Elizabeth and her best friend from school
used the arrow stamp and the chevron paper

I used the Pink Paislee chipboard packaging as a mask
backed the photo with one of the Smash pockets

and used my dymo for the journaling

love this page, for lots of reasons

Darling, This Place Is Lovely Oasis

Same kit
Different colour combination

I used the packaging from the Pink Paislee chipboard (from the Pier 39 kit)
And sprayed the green cardstock with some green glimmer mist

I peeled off the FUN from the chipboard added it to a toothpick and made a flag

Used the packaging from the Smash pockets (found in the Boardwalk addon)
and cut off a strip of roses from the embellishment kit

Topped a butterfly sticker with a button

used my dymo
made a spelling mistake in the title

and the story, to go with the really badly lit photo

Was such an awesome exhibit and worth a visit
Back later with another colour combo from the same kit

As The Years Go By And We Grow Old And Grey

Today was the international gallery reveal at Cocoa Daisy
I love all the bits and pieces that came with the March kits
Have story to go with each of my layouts so I thought I would give each page it’s own blog post
So the first page

IMG_9435

When I purchased my Silhouette Cameo I knew that the first thing I wanted to cut was a big ‘&’
so for this page I did just that

IMG_9438

I had scanned the photo booth photo
and then altered it so the photo strips went across the page rather than up and down

IMG_9439

Love the camera brad from Fisherman’s Wharf add on

IMG_9440

and the story that adds life to the photos

IMG_9441

Love the red + brown combo
Back later with my next layout with a completely different colour combination
