Jot Magazine - “Grade 10”

February saw the girls, and I, heading back to school.
Starting off the new school year.
Perfect opportunity to scrap a page for
Jot Magazine’s back to school segment.

Now normally this pattern paper would scare me.
But I have done a complete 180
And now love the challenge that these papers bring.

This paper was perfect for this theme.
New doors and new opportunities await her.

Can’t wait to see where she goes in the future.

Looking forward to see what door she opens.

I’ve used pieces from the February Cocoa Daisy kits
To create this page.
Only adding the doily, flair and alphas
From my own supplies.

Jot Magazine – “Popcorn?”

Each issue of Jot Magazine contains
A creative prompt section by Sian.
Issue 9 is out and I was inspired to create
Using no colour.

 

That is a tough one for me.
So instead of pops of colour
I have used pops of texture.

Some texture paste circles, thanks to stencil from The Crafter’s Workshop.
A wash of watercolour paint.
Backed my photo with a card from Cocoa Daisy 

Some pattern paper for dimension
And a “naked” flair from Flutterby Designs 

All topped off with a sprinkle of foam stickers.

Jot Magazine - “Family”

Jot Magazine issue 9 holds a section on hand stitching.

Hand stitching is something I dread.
Makes me think of mending clothes!
But I was up for the challenge.
Instead of outlining my photo with a pen
I stitched around it.

I also added some off cuts
From my “Änzac Parade” page

And some wood veneer from Flutterby Designs

Everything else was pulled from the February Cocoa Daisy kits.

Why, yes, that is ribbon under the dymo tape.
And why, yes, that is ribbon up in the top corner.

Loved that Cocoa Daisy card
The quote was just perfect.

Cocoa Daisy March Kit Reveal “Hello Again”

The March kit “Hello Again” has been released over at Cocoa Daisy.
I had fun creating with the kits and just loved the pattern paper options.

This page is about this amazing couple.
I have used the busy paper from Crate Paper
Then added some layers with the embellishments found in the kits.

This page used one of the exclusive papers designed by Stephanie Wheeler.
I kept the page graphic and “boxed” it in
With some of the ribbon (found in the main kit).

She is nuts for the stuff!
Here I used a piece of pattern paper from Simple Stories
Added some layers of DITL cards and embellishments from the kits.
I covered the text, on one of the cards, with washi tape
Then added the wood alphas
(which, by the way, are wonderful!).
