Jot Magazine + Greatest View Flair = A Whole Lot Of Lovin’!

I know I have mentioned a zillion times that I love flair
BUT
It’s true!!

So when the Jot Magazine team were given the chance to work with some flair from The Greatest View 
I said yes please!

I used the opportunity to make a layout about our newest family member.

I typed up the backstory to his arrival

And added a large photo of our handsome man.

Page Maps And The Greatest View

I was super stoked to be asked to be a guest for The Greatest View, 
They were teaming up with Page Maps for October.
Along with the Greatest View Design team, the lovely Leeann Pearce, Nadia Cannizzo and Louise Nelson
We were all given a Page Maps sketch to work with

Gail, the owner of Greatest View sent each of us some of her yummy flair and we were given a colour palette to work with.

I tried to stay with the pastel

but as you can see I went bright!

I had no problem working with the flair though (hehehe)

And the sketch…

I made two pages with it.

On this page I flipped the sketch

And stretched the title to replace the two smaller photos.

I Remember Those Two Letters It Will Be OK

When I heard that Ronda was going to restart the challenge’s for One Little Word I smiled.
It’s one of the challenge sites that I turned to for inspiration.
For that little spark.
The new word was “Celebrate” and I had all intention of playing along.
But the days have been busy and all that I had was the word cut, using my silhouette cameo.
I decided to stop the clock for a moment
and played, to create this page

I used pieces from the November Cocoa Daisy kit(s)

adding some other bits and pieces that made me happy
Some new Heidi Swapp stickers
Some SODAlicious papers
and a little crafter’s workshop masking, texture paste, mist and doodling

some resin flowers from D-lish Scraps
Some flair/badges from Ormolu, Sasha Farina, Greatest View and Purple Pumpkin

some wood veneer pieces from Studio Calico 

add some photo corners, washi tape, dymo labeller and some new Sn@p alpha stickers

See, so much comes from one little word!!

Stars Don't Shine In Singular Places

Right now I am lovin’ stars
I had a play and created a cut file on my Silhouette Cameo 
and cut it out using the backing sheet of a 12x12 sheet of stickers, after I removed the stickers.

I deliberately left some spots blanks and some stars not removed but with the line around them cut
So I could have the outline of a star when I used the sheet as a mask

I the sprayed the mask with some white Mr Huey, from Studio Calico, and some yellow from dylusions
I then had a play…
I painted over some stars with some clear glue and then painted some more yellow over the top

love how this turned out
I added some more stars, wooden veneer ones from Studio Calico

I altered the Pink Paislee wooden letters with some Ingvild Bolme inks
added some resin flowers from D-lish Scraps and a badge/flair from the Greatest View 
and the pattern papers are from SODAlicious (I purchased them from Paper Stories)

and here is the page I created

It’s one of my favourite.
I just love the reflection in the puddle
I had a play and used the reflection part to create this

So much I could say about this photo, but that’s a whole other blog post and a whole other scrap page!

It Sends My Future Into Clearer Dimensions

I’ve put together a little video for FabScraps 
Showing how I create a Textured and Layered background using some scraps and recycling an envelope

Throwing Out Your Frown

This month the Scrapmatts team were given two challenges
The first was a sketch, from the lovely Anne Patterson
You can see the sketch, and play along, in the Scrapmatts forum

Here is my take on her sketch

I have been looking, for a while, for some of the Studio Calico wood veneer stars
Finally found some, everywhere seems out of stock, at Polka Dot Creative

I played with a Crafter’s Workshop stencil and texture paste
Love the Greatest View flair and this one was perfect for my page

and I also love LOVE Sasha Farina’s flair, also perfect for my page

I’ve had this Scrapmatts “DAD” plaque for a while now
and was excited to finally use it

to say something important

The other challenge, for the Design Team, was to create a page using Scrapmatts but using them in a “different way”
So I created this page

I cut up some Flourishes and Nested Shapes to create some moustaches

This week I received some of the VERY cool SODAlicious papers, I’d buy everything they make! LOVE LOVE LOVE!
I purchased them from the lovely Georiga Heald’s store Paper Stories

Another flair from Greatest View

and some journaling, along with some more playing with texture paste,
this time with the Hexagon stencil from Crafter’s Workshop

The tape is also new, from Glitz Design (also found at Paper Stories)
It’s a little different to washi tape, in that it is more paper like. I love the texture and how workable it is.

We are going to hunt down some new sneakers for 2 girls tomorrow
and Sunday afternoon will see one at a Choir performance.
They are just two of the weekend highlights for our household, how about you?
