And have a behind the scenes look (and a play) at what goes on and how they make our bread.
We were met by the friendly staff and shown out the back
Where we met the franchise owner, the lovely Taysha,
and Baker Tim.
He was very patient and lots of fun
He walked the girls through the process of bread making
He explained about the wonderfully fresh, Australian sourced ingredients, about the yeast, salt, improver, oil and water.
Talking about the wonderful products he makes everyday from scratch.
Poor man is at work at 1am, to start the baking of all that yummy bread!
The girls then impressed him with their knowledge of seeds
But most of the time the girls were very hands on
We were shown how the dough was made.
They weighed out all the ingredients
Tim showed us how to make it
into a few different loaves
Then the girls got to play with the dough
making a block loaf
and seeing if they could get theirs to fit in the tin
They had fun icing finger buns
and then they had free reign to decorate them,
which they all enjoyed.
They helped make some date scones
Going through the whole process
From squashing out the dough
to squashing it in the cutter
to taking them out of the cutter
to watching them come out of the oven
and then yelling “HOT SCONES” so customers could hear them and come buy the hot scones!
The girls impressed Taysha with how good their plaited bread looked
.
and then (the best part of the day according to this flour face)
the girls were given some dough
and allowed to make their own pizzas
which were baked
I even made one, a larger one, and Megan put on the topping
We were allowed to take all the yummy treats home
Along with some other goodies
We all enjoyed the day and Megan said it best, with her doodling in the flour
One of the things that I like about Bakers Delight is that they are different
They have wonderful, friendly staff and their bread is yummy
and yesterday I got to see why
When they talk about bread they glow.
You can see they are passionate about what they do and I think that shows through in their products
And I know this is true because their passion flowed through into us.
and if it’s made with passion
it’s delicious!
I think it is fair to say we all love Bakers Delight!!
And did you know that you can love Bakers Delight too??
On Facebook
and on Twitter
We all had a wonderful time and I can’t thank Taysha and Tim (and the girls at the front counter) enough!
The smiles on the girls faces just showed that memories were made
Fun memories!
Thank you Bakers Delight for the opportunity and allowing us to have these wonderful memories!
