COCOA DAISY MARCH KIT “SKETCHBOOK”

Today was reveal day for “Sketchbook”
the March kit for Cocoa Daisy
It’s full of gorgeous colours and fun embellishments
I used it to complete my mission, scrapping the girls back to school photos

IMG_5488

Love how the kit has so many colour options.
Soft colours or brighter ones, the choice is yours!
So many wonderful pattern papers

IMG_5492

I used a Crafter’s Workshop stencil to add some triangles
and used the photo corners (found on the sticker sheet in the “Renderings" add on) as arrows

IMG_5493

“Renderings” also has the very cool “sketchbook” thickers (going to need another pack of these!)
The main kit holds the Maya Road cameras, which are delicious!

IMG_5495

Glad I was able to complete all four “back to school” layouts
Feels good to have that “challenge” complete!

IMG_5494

And because that challenge is complete I can move on to my next “personal challenge”
Scrapping more of my CHA photos.
So my next two pages are my attempt at that!

IMG_5497

Loved spending time with Mandy Koeppen

IMG_5499

I’ve added some enamel dots, from my own stash,
and TOTALLY adore the flair that is in the “Freehand” add on.
Also loved the cute little pegs found in the “Renderings” add on

IMG_5500

And have I mentioned the pattern papers??
LOVE THEM!
the Glitz “Scallop” paper is just gorgeous!!
It’s part of the “Line Drawing” Paper Add On.

IMG_5501

The “Freehand” add on also comes with a full pack of Elle’s studio “Day to Day Tiny Tags”
which are super cool!

IMG_5502

and my last page is about my gorgeous friend, and room mate at CHA, Denise Morrison

IMG_5539

The stamps for March are just plain old COOL
Here I’ve used the Wood Handle Stamp Collage Stamp

IMG_5537

I cut up the Webster’s Pages “Snapshots” paper (love Allison Kreft’s products)
and filled a glassine bag with some cameras and some glitter

IMG_5536

also used some gold embossing powder to alter some of the “Goodness” thickers (found in the main kit)

IMG_5538

Also added some gold glitter to the chipboard My Minds Eye sticker (found in the “Renderings” Add On)

IMG_5535

Love this kit
Have some grand plans for all that I have left
Which is…
A LOT!!!!

What are you liking about this kit (s)??

Wanna Roll Back Like Pressing Rewind

I have so many good memories of time spent
with some of the lovely Cocoa Daisy ladies at CHA.
We had fun in a photo booth that was at one of the booths.
We all went home with the photo and all promised to scrap it.
Here is my page

IMG_4821

It’s one of my favourites!
As is the very cool star stamp, part of the February kit at Cocoa Daisy.

IMG_4824

I’ve used it on my page and heat embossed it with come glittery gold.

IMG_4825

So many great things in the February kit

IMG_4826

so many great things I could say about these women

IMG_4827

and this is just part of what I could say

You can see what the other gorgeous girls made HERE

The Story Is In Your Eyes

Remember the photos I took when Dave surprised me with a dawn trip to the beach?
I used one of those to make this page for my recent D-lish Scraps design team post

IMG_4749

It’s a simple page
and I wanted it simple
because the title (cut with my silhouette cameo) was so big
and I wanted the photo and embellishments to shine
Which I think they do
I love the filigree leaves

IMG_4751

the white sequins, used to dot the alphas

IMG_4752

I pulled out a chipboard feather from Louise Nelson
And glittered it to an inch of it’s life

IMG_4754

before adding a monochrome pattern flair
right next to the little message I wanted to share

IMG_4755

The last page I created, for my D-lish upload
was this page

IMG_4739

I glittered up some Fern Leaves

IMG_4743

Used some Olive Sequins, wooden heart buttons (altered with green ink) and resin flowers

IMG_4745

The journaling has to have a back story,
So here it is…
I went over to LA a couple of days prior to CHA
I wanted to go visit my friend Linda
”Phin” lives in San Jose (an hour plane trip from LA)
So I hopped on another plane and stayed with her for 2 nights.
While I was there we had a scrap day (LOVE THAT!)
and she offered to make me a cup of green tea
I hadn’t had green tea before (I’d have had iced green tea but not hot)
She was worried I wouldn’t like it.
So I joked about how I would have to make a scrap page “she made me drink green tea”.
I then asked her what colour I should scrap the page.
Her reply was green and purple, so green and purple it was to be

IMG_4746

Visiting Phin was definitely a highlight of my trip and I am so glad I took the time to go see her
Love friendships like that.

You can see the rest of my D-lish creations on the D-lish blog post here

Efficiency And Forethought Cut The Jobs In Half

One of the people I was blessed to meet at CHA was Nat
I’ve “known” Nat for a few years and it never ever entered my head that I would catch up with her at CHA
So when I saw her I was overwhelmed, tearily so!
I didn’t even think to take a photo I have swiped Nat’s instagramed photo
And used it for this page

IMG_4729

which I shared on the Cocoa Daisy blog
I’ve used pieces from the January Cocoa Daisy kits

IMG_4734

including the cool packing card

IMG_4732

and added some glitter because the day seemed very glitter-filled

IMG_4733

and Nat was very much a cherry on top of the glittery day.

Her Thoughts Are Darting Like A Rabbit

In case you missed it, because you didn’t see my facebook updates or instagram photos
I’ve been to America and back
I went to CHA
The Craft and Hobby Expo
My primary reason for going was to meet some of the Cocoa Daisy girls
My second reason for going was to meet some of the other amazing people who would also be in the same location
AND
Because I was going all that way I just had to go visit my friend Linda.
AKA: Phinner, Phin, the phinster, and any other Phin-related-variant that I can come up with!
She lives in San Jose (just an hour flight from Los Angeles)
and I spent two nights with her, before returning to LA and on to Anaheim for CHA
I will be sharing photos and stories over time but first I wanted to share this page
You see Linda and I spent a day at her VERY COOL kitchen table scrapping and crafting
I created this page, which I finished off today (LINDA DID YOU NOTICE IT WAS DIFFERENT?!)

IMG_4685

I’ve used some wood veneer (note the ‘5’ is now an ‘s’)

IMG_4686

Papers from I Lowe Scrap
Washi tape from D-lish scraps

IMG_4687

Alphas from Simple Stories
Tin Pin from October Afternoon

IMG_4688

had to add some pops of pink
So used paint and twine

IMG_4689

Shipping tags are my all time favourite way to add journaling
Love them!

IMG_4690

You seriously wouldn’t believe how often she was out the back practicing cartwheels!
But it paid off
For now…
She currently has a green stick fracture
So one arm is in a removable cast
and that’s slowed her down, just a little!
But more on that later!!
