I Dream of You

Thought I would give some challenges a go
Kraft It Up is a new challenge blog each month you have to use Kraft Cardstock and one other challenge requirement. This month that is to distress. Done :)
Scrap Mojo is a challenge blog I have loved since it started and one that I wish I had time to complete each and every challenge
This month the challenge is to be inspired by love and to use a love quote
Wow that didn’t sound too hard at all
I mean here I am missing Dave and needing to pour that sentiment into something
So viola this page was created :)

Used parts of Studio Calico Yearbook kit for this page
I pulled apart a Prima Raj Flower Center and sprinkled the sequins
The Red Washi tape is from Dudley Redhead’s Madeit store

I used the middle of the Prima flower I used to top the i on the Studio Calico alpha sticker
I used another Maya Road stick pin
and some buttons from Such Sweet Tierney

Some of the journaling stickers that were in the Yearbook kit
And yes my sewing machine is better, seemed that the trip to Mum and Dad’s did the trick
Got there and there was nothing wrong with it, weird but true!!

I found this quote online, printed it out and then inked and distressed before adding it on some brown washi tape also from Dudley Redhead’s Madeit store

Used an old Prima packaging as a template and doodled the vines in the corners of the Basic Grey paper, which I love!

We have been skype-ing with Dave, when the time difference works, ie when he gets up around 5am to talk to us around 9am

100_0168com

because of the time difference and the long flight(s) home
we won’t be able to talk to him now until he gets home tomorrow night
Tomorrow is the start of the new school year
Yesterday I polished up the school shoes + Megan’s black boots lol
so the now await the toes to enter them in the morning

100_0171com

Today we tried on school clothes
I held back the tears as this little rabbit admired herself and declared she would wear it all day

100_0185com

she didn’t though, I think she is excited about starting school on Thursday ;)
The girls spent some of the day doing this

100_0184

and I put off interrupting them so we could go do the things on my get-done-today list
Which we did at lunchtime, so we had bread for lunch lol
and this afternoon Megan finished off this

100_0190com

her paint by number present from Grandma
and it is very cool indeed!

Lemons aren't Dandelions

Today started out cold and foggy.

It didn't warm up till after lunch even though the sun had finally broken through after the cloud lifted, which was 9-10am.

I thought I would get outside and enjoy the sun but early on in the morning it was still chilly so Lucy and I only ventured out for a little while in the morning. I took some photos, trying to master the focus on my camera. Here are some of the shots I took.

A pumpkin flower

and I just don't think Lemons take the same sort of photograph as dandelions do...

and my fave photos...

The Schmuz was in her new dress today, we put her up a dress size over the weekend and I had bought this one last month. She just loved it and also wore her new necklace all day too. She followed me around with her talking princess camera and every time she took a photo of me I took a photo of her. Liked that game ;)

Also scrapped this page for Scrap Mojo Challenge number 33. Seems like forever since I took up one of their challenges. One of the big things I love about that challenge blog, apart from the DT which is the number one thing I love about it, is that it pushes you. It gives you amazing inspiration for pages and allows you to explore different techniques or products, love it! So here is my page

Made my frame with pattern paper, Sass Lass, that I stitched down like ribbon.

Handy hint, scrunch up your strip of paper before sewing it down. It makes it easier to fold and push through the sewing machine.

Covered some more buttons, woodgrain fabric was part of an earlier Q Tea kit.

Megan came home with 6 boxes of Girl Guide biscuits today. So the next few weekends will be tied up with soccer, church and selling biscuits :)

Hit my blogger photo limit AGAIN, so been uploading from photobucket, grrr. Will have to go back and delete more older photos on my blog to overcome this problem. Wish blogger would give more photo limit to us bloggers that don't want to pay for the privilege.

Challenges of Monday

In amongst the busy-ness of the day I completed my One Little Word page and my Scrap Mojo Challenge.
**edited to add******* 14 Oct 7.30am ***Yes It dawned on me, in the shower this morning, that the OLW prompt was actually KEEP not JUST!!! Soooooooo I am now working on a new KEEP page!! I wrote Keep down and everything, my brain ran away with JUST things instead... DOH!! So stay tuned for the real OLW prompt, if I KEEP my brain on the right path.... hmmmmm!! ***
***Edited to add 14 Oct 8.15pm*** OLW page for KEEP is in the post above NOT this one :)***

One Little Words prompt was 'just'. So I made a 2 page spread:

Journaling

"He buys me flowers
He writes me love notes
He buys me Orange Ponies for Christmas because I asked for one
He puts up Christmas lights
He gives me chocolate
He makes the bed
He runs me baths
He cooks
He has coffee with me
He irons
This isn't why I love him but it does make me love him more."

and then for Scrap Mojo, the challenge was Halloween inspired, to scrap about a fave costume, horror movie etc and to make your own embellishment. Well I don't do scary so I twisted the challenge my way and that's what I scrapped about ;)

I used lots of glimmer mist, some material pattern, Kaiser paper and made the little ghost from a brown paper bag ;)

I coated the buzz and Bloom arrow with glimmer mist so it lifted and used just one layer as my journal block

Journaling:
"Since I had glandular fever, in 1996, my nerves have been shot!So since then I haven't coped so well with things of emotion. I am getting better but this girl doesn't do scary".

Excited as the new season for CSI starts tonight!!

The best game ever...

Is what Megan declared after their soccer game this morning!! They finally earned a point, yep the game was a draw, nil all, and you could have been fooled into thinking they had won it 38-0!! They were over the moon, to the extent where the other team said 'you only got a draw you didn't win or anything'!! Megan was thrilled and kept saying 'I didn't let any in'!! So glad they ended the season on a high note!! They all signed a card for Dave and it was fun to watch them all at the end of the game. We will have a get together next term as the trophies etc won't be ready to pick up from the roster organiser till mid September.
From there we went to Mum and Dad's and dropped all the girls off for the night. We then went and got some lunch and Dave and I had a walk along a beach before we went to Dave's soccer game. It was his last for the season but it was also the last for him with that club. He has been with the same club for the last 10 year, veteran lol, and has been wanting a change for quite a few years so we will see what happens next year.
Yesterday I made my Scrap Mojo Page. The challenge, number 20, was to use glitter and a title from the School House Rocks collection. So I chose the '3 is a magic number' title and changed it to 3 is magic, as it was appropriate, and created this

Journaling "3 is a very trying age. An age where limits are tested and new boundaries are set. You have pushed and tested but you know what? I still love ya! Love watching all these new things and seeing what happens next"
**Edit to add** The Aug Sticker, the journal block and the rubons were all part of the My Sweet Spuds kit, I finally cracked it open for a play. Looking forward to more of that lol. I used glimmer mist and Kindy Glitz for the glitter.

Something else that was pretty cool... I had an email waiting from RebeccaJ at Scrapblog. It told me to check this out...

"Congratulations! You have been featured this week in our "Friday Five." Your beautiful scrapblog was chosen from the thousands created everyday as one of the BEST!. Visit the blog to see your name in lights!RebeccaScrapbook Community Manager"

I did and it made me grin... A BIG grin lol

Michelle has given me a blog award, but I will post that tomorrow :) am off now to put my feet up :)

What did they get up to today?

Well, She found this

She made this, in a hope that the others would come play

She drew this, in hope the others would come play

and She did this

I did this

my page for Scrap Mojo, challenge was to use the quote "say hello to my little friend" and to use a book page :)

Soccer news, Megan's team lost, Dave's won :) We surprised Joe and Anna by taking McDonalds around there for lunch. Have to say that feeding 10 of us from Maccas is expensive but the lovely time shared was worth it :)

Aliens have abducted my family...

Seems the afternoon was made up of these strange people making strange faces in strange places

This jolly girl found refuge in the hallway with pen and paper

This soul got crafty with glue and paper

This handsome devil took flight to the bedroom to get melodic with on his guitar

this shmuzzy

and this rabbit

got together to become this odd looking couple

Tiger Megan, she made this at school,

The girls making a pancake out of Dave

Who then went and made dumplings for our dessert :)

I also made a start on a new layout for Project Scrap-Away. Had to wait for some things to dry, and will work on it again tomorrow, so made this layout for the Mojo Challenge, which was to ask someone what they would do if they had a million dollars and to use pen or a pin (I used both :) )

So that's me and my lot for another weekend. Dave is away Wednesday-Friday this week so it's going to be a busy week. Thanks for stopping by and again thanks to those who have been showing their support in my Project Scrap-Away journey, you can read more on that here :)

When it's raining you go inside...

no it didn't rain today, although the day started out like this

actually it started long before that. So yes when it rains it pours... and this morning at 5.45am Elizabeth was visited by Mr Hurley. A lovely vomit on her bedroom floor. I won't go into details but I now know that when she ate the grapes at lunchtime the day before, she didn't chew them... ok enough detail!!!

So the poor tyke didn't go to Kindergarten today but spent the day on the couch under a blanket with the telly on. She did spend sometime in the sun, while it was out, and this is how she spent it...

Lucy was her normal self...

They both went straight to sleep tonight, the other 2 didn't take that long either, so I'm hoping Mr Hurley doesn't come back for awhile!

Dave is on the plane back home. He rang just a little while ago, from his stopover in Melbourne. Not long till he is home.

Today the Project Scrap-Away challenge #7 was judged, I made it through to the next round, phew!! The challenge for #7 was to scrap a layout about a tragedy, so here is my page

Journaling “It’s a story that I have been waiting to tell, a story I need to tell, so please listen as I share… I always knew, as you grew inside me, that something wasn’t quite right. Just like I knew in my heart that you were going to be a girl, I knew that you were growing in a place that was keeping you safe. We, Dave and I, had talked about possibilities and what ifs, so when you were born, and we entered the world of EB, it was no huge shock and we took it in our stride. Sure we cried and there were days where it was a struggle but we knew you were a blessing and that loving you meant living with EB. I had to learn all I could about this disorder and I had to talk to others about it, still do! So why did I need to tell you this? Because one day you might have kids of your own, I hope you do, and one day you might have a child of your own, a child that needs that little more lovin’, loving that comes from a place in your heart that you didn’t know was there. So I write this in hope that you realize you have the strength and the love to get through these challenges, that there are people around you who will support you through the hard stuff and above all that, that you are loved VERY much and always have been!”

If you want to see all the entries for this round you can see them here.

I also scrapped this one but used the above as my entry.

Today I made the most of the not-running-around time and made my Scrap Mojo page. The challenge was to use lyrics from a song of your choice by the band 'The Ditty Bops' and doodling.
So I chose the song 'Wake Up' and created this :)

Watching Spicks and Specks last week there was a lady who had a green and brown top on, I loved the colour combo so have been wanting to give it a go on a page, viola!!
Ok now I have to thank the wonderful people that have stopped and left a comment on my 800th post. Thank you to all the visitors that my lil' ol' blog has had and thank you if you have ever left a comment. I am grateful to you all and the RAK winner for my 800th post is Diane! If you can email me your address details I will get a super dooper happy RAK flying through the postal system to you.
And finally one more little thing, I wrote an article about my Snap Happy Today album and its up over at Aussie Scrapbooking :)
Feel like there was something else I was going to share but can't think what now so that's all folks ;)

School is back

and term 2 has begun. It is going to be another busy term, today Megan started 2 weeks of swimming with school and Jessica started her swimming lessons. Both did well today and Jessica surprised me, and her teacher, and just started swimming... Just like that! Today was her first lesson ever and other than mucking about in water when she has been to the beach or the pool she has only watched Megan at her lessons but, true to form, she picked it up and knows what to do and just did it! So the teacher thinks Jessica will move up a class half way through the term and that was only after her first half hour lesson!

Elizabeth had been longing to go back to school, asking everyday when she was going, and today her kinder teacher took them all to a nearby park, its was a sunshiny day so it was put to full use!

Lucy was at a loss today, with no big sisters to entertain her, so we kept busy.

Riding her Barbie Bike around the house and then pulling doughys in the lounge room

talking to her re-found unicorn

and kicking a ball outside

Rewinding to yesterday now...
I was grateful for the opportunity to host a challenge on SIS for the SISversary celebrations. A few people have played along so that was a plus lol. Here is the page I made as an example of my challenge. The pattern paper, that I have cut up to use, was part of the downloadable goodie bag.

Jouranling reads "Lucy, your three right now and I am loving watching you grow. Lots of changes and lots of that you are learning. Somedays it's hard but most days it's just fun! I am looking forward to more of this as you shine!"
I had also made this page for the Scrap Mojo challenge, to use the quote "Its a good thing" and a stamp.

Before the online things happened Dave got down the Sun Catcher pack that Jessica got for her birthday and Megan and Jessica did some painting

Dave took the girls to by dinner last night. We had KFC for our 'end of holidays/back to school' special dinner. Today it was coooold, a sign of things to come, and I will leave you with some photos, the sunrising, the frosty grass and one of the tiny icicles I found on the play house.
