From The House Of Thomas

the tank engine that is...
For Christmas each of the girls received, from Santa, some Thomas Train track, to add to their stash of Thomas stuff. Today the pulled the whole lot out.

Trains

and track

and built a track that went around the whole house, yes they had that much and then some!
The narrow stretch down the hallway

past the kitchen, over what I call Fridge Mountain

and then right back through the lounge room.

They all had a ball, some more than others RIGHT DAVE??!!!

Today I spent 2 hours at the hairdressers, my goodness 2 hours! I had my hair cut and coloured as well as an eyebrow shape and lash tint. Here are the results

So now I am all ready for the wedding on Saturday ;)
While I was gone Dave took the girls to the Dr's as we think Lucy has whopping cough too. She has had a hacky cough from time to time for the last day or so and we are guessing that it's whopping cough like my sisters kidlets. Lucy is now on antibiotics so hopefully the cough will soon be gone.

While I remember here is a sneak peek at the goodies I created for Scrap-n-Crop with their January kit which goes on sale on the 1st

you can see more in their gallery.

and it is with sadness that I read just now that my online blog buddy Beverley has passed away after a suspected bleed on the brain. Such a shock, will miss her and am thinking of her family and friends.

A very random type of post...

Today was another day around home, well after a visit to the chemist to get some more antibiotics for Elizabeth and a trip to the supermarket to get some milk oh and a call in to get a coffee for me and a babycino for Lucy, so I made the most of the warmer/drier day and we got outside, between the spring showers, and I took some photos of the things we did today and of other ummm random stuff.

This is one of the bulbs Bron gave me, before she and Murray went to England. She gave me 2 packets of 3 each and so far the 3 red ones are out and the others are well on the way.

While we were outside I went through the garden shed and found some more old seed that the previous house owners had left behind. I know the seeds are old but I threw them about anyway as some will still germinate and grow. Planted corn, lettuce and tomato

Also thought I would update my blog photo so took some of me ;)

and have to share my shoe purchase, from our trip. These I went back to get as I just loved them! They have little apples on the sides, which you can't see in the photo, and are a dove and apple print, love them!!

Because it has been raining for the last 2 days, the washing has been inside, on the three airers. Today's went outside and was dry after lunch, so here is what 2+ days of washing looks like in our house.

Lucy and Elizabeth did some playing in the sunroom, because the clothes airer was taken away they had room again.

Elizabeth made a kite at kinder so she begged to fly in this afternoon... fly... well, it was off the ground for awhile lol

and she also brought home her very first home reader book. She read it with my twice and then read it to Dave about 3 times. Love that this stage is happening for her.

and finally I will leave you with a page I made today, using more bits from My Sweet Spuds kit

It is winter folks!

She showed her face in all it's glory today! Hail, rain, snow, sleet and then some moments of sunshine to allure us into thinking we could venture outside and not get wet!!!

Took this shot of the mountain, but as you can see, it was too wet for any good snow shots!!!

It was another busy day, right back into the thick of it, and I have a small pile of photos waiting, gently calling my name, waiting waiting to be scrapped. Made a start on my One Little Word page through out the small time we were in and out, hoping to finish it off tomorrow, and quickly pulled together this page in my 'Me Today' album.

It's not perfect but these thoughts are finally down on paper and that is a relief! Love REM and put their CD on over the weekend and this line just hit me, "pushing an elephant up the stairs", being as that is how I have been feeling, just more than one elephant and its up the wall cos thats harder lol. So that's another thing emptied from my brain and I hope to do a little more siphoning tomorrow :) Feel like my sense of scrapping is changing, really like simple, which I always have, but because time is fleeting it seems my scrapping has become more simple too. Will see how that all goes I spose :)

1 down...

and 2 too go... well 3 for the girls... then Dave will be home again :)

So my day... where do I start??

Was reading on Jill's blog about taken an everyday photo, of something that is everyday that you would take for granted but has significance to you. Love this and had no problems finding something that filled the criteria

Why this?? well it means I have someone home at lunchtime! It means I still have a kidlet at home and not at school full time and I love that, LOVE IT, going to miss it when they are all at school all day :( I think I might have to use this photo on a layout...!

I finally got around to creating my One Little Word page, word being Now. I was prompted by the song "Love Enough" from Hillsong. In it there is a line "this day is what we have now", so I made this

See the epoxy stickers? I used the clear ones and put them on pattern paper and cut around the sticker. Christina made some magnets and I was inspired to use the same concept with the stickers.

I also made some for this page in my Me Today album. I ummed and ahhhed about sharing this page, but it has been 3 months since I even wrote in the journal and it is just my thoughts being spewed onto the page, its about a few things but its my thoughts, so here goes :)

and here are 2 more pages from my Snap Happy today album

I also made this page about today, was one of those 'oh my heart' moments

Also today we found this

It was dead and slightly squashed
Elizabeth and Lucy picked it up and patted it, Elizabeth saying oh poor creature. lol

Then she took it to give it a home.

wasn't till now that I saw, in the photo, that there is actually half of another one in amongst the leaves! Must be a few of them in the garden.

Also took this photo, the girls have been using the chalk to 'paint' rocks. Like this photo!

This post is my 799th so my next post will be my 800th and I think it will have be RAK time.

Oh and did you know that it is 80 years since the first loaf of white bread went on sale to the public? Love trivia lol

Blessed by mail!!

Yes indeedy!!!

This afternoon my Qtea kit arrived YUMMMMMM. So yum in fact that I took the flannel and a plastic jewel and turned it into a little bag.

I love the feel of the flannel and didn't want to put it somewhere that you couldn't feel it, ie on a page etc, so I sewed it up. Now I just have to find a home for it.

After Megan's swimming lessons, where she did a somersault in the water!!, we got home to find we had missed the parcel man had been so we went straight to the post office to collect not 1 not 2 but 3 parcels!!

We found that 2 had been in quarantine and that this package from Marlies had contained some tulip bulbs, which couldn't come into the country so they took them. I have to say that the contents of the package made up for the lost bulbs though, thank you Marlies!!!

Then there was this one from the wonderful Sally. She had sent me some happy mail, lots of yummy treats!!

And then this is from Susan, who had a giveaway on her blog and I was the lucky winner!

Can't wait to go through everything and use it!!

Before I leave here is the page I did in my "me today" journal yesterday, about my weekend :)

2 Sleeps...

It's my birthday today, i'm older than yesterday.... Been singing it all day... don't know what I am singing... Well I tried to find a youtube of the song/video but with no glory but it is sung by Justine Clarke who is from Playschool fame and is a very catchy, and annoying once sang a billion times, type of song ;)

The day started at 5.30am with Lucy telling Elizabeth to get in to her own bed as she didn't want Elizabeth in her bed.

Dave and the girls gave me a paint set, complete with a table top easel, paints, brushes, knives, 2 canvases and palette but no hat... Lucy told me there as no hat... My in a beret?? hmmm lol
Dave's Grandparents and Mum and Step-dad gave me money THANK YOU, my youngest brother and girlfriend, who are over from the mainland, gave me a teddy and my Mum and Dad gave me one of these bracelets in hope to buy me beads in the future. Nice day, with BBQ lunch and cake flooded in raspberries!

Little helpers putting the raspberries on top of the cake

Yum!
Another sign of Christmas!

And tonight I didn't have to cook either... Thanks Pizza Hut ;)

Tonight we are awaiting some little people, or rather one older little person, to fall asleep as there is some elf work to be done!!!

Hope you have had a special day too, thanks for visiting :)
