I Want To See Donut Icing On Smiling Faces

This morning Megan, Jessica and I went in to town to meet up with some generous souls

We don’t have a Krispy Kreme donut store in Tasmania, but, because everything has to have a facebook group to get any recognition, there is a facebook group campaigning to get a Krispy Kreme to open in Hobart
Two of the above fellows flew in this morning, from Sydney, with 250 donuts to give away to anyone who wanted one

Because I am part of the facebook group, because it bugs me when business/companies decided that Tasmania is too small and can’t provide a profit, so I knew what was happening and when
The girls had no idea what we were doing but were excited about the prospect of a free donut or two :)

We then met up with my sister, who had brought Lucy in for us, we had a donut for them both too :)
From there we went to the Botanical Gardens to spend some time with friends and have a picnic lunch together
Was nice :)

The garden is slowly changing
with new things getting ready for harvesting
These make me smile

I didn’t think we would get many, as they seem to be slow to be pollinated
But that’s turned around and it’s looking like a bumper crop!!
We have had a few strawberries

and they are yum
As are these, that are starting to ripen

we need some hotter days to get them moving but we have eaten a couple of them now, just not 100% soft/ripe but still deliciously good!!

This afternoon I scrapped another page

added some bling to the lettering

and a little blue to the journal spot ;)

And that, I think, is that :)

  4. I remember Krispy Kreme-type donuts from when I was a child but I don't eat much stuff like that now. Looks like the girls had a fun time! And what abundance produce - looks yummy! Really like your layout, especially the way you masked out areas in which to journal - I will be lifting your idea - thanks! Have a great week!

  5. Yum, Krispy Kreme. We don't have a real store here, but we are close enough to one that they truck them into the convenience stores around here. They aren't as good as getting them hot off of the line though. I have been to the big one in Austin and boy it is sure fun to watch them make donuts. Glad you were able to have a little taste of Krispy goodness.

  7. Love garden pictures! We don't have a doughnut shop here. I think a bakery here would scoop up the dough! ;)

  8. WE don't have KK's in Rocky either. Usually have to pick up some when we hit the city. Mind you maybe we love them so much because we can't get them all the time. I know we love to get to Brissie and get some. Just looking at all your layouts this week Sharmaine. Man you are on a roll girl. Some gorgeous gorgeous layouts there. Feel like scrapbooking myself now.
