All My Thoughts Just Seem To Settle On The Breeze

Yay to Friday!
It’s been a very busy week
Last weekend we celebrated Dave’s Mum’s 60th birthday
Lots of family, fun and food!
Monday was the school swimming carnival
Both Jessica and Elizabeth swam well and had fun.
Megan has had Eisteddfods, for band and choir, three nights this week
They played/sang well and did really well.
Wednesday was my usual work day and today was my usual day in Canteen.
Yep glad it’s the weekend
Although it’s still busy, as are most of the weekends from here till the end of the year.
It’s that time of year.
Things getting busier.
I’ve been reminded, this week, that it is only for a season.
So I’m trying to remember to flow with the busy and not let it wade down my day.

So right now I have stopped and am here to share something with you.
I’ve another Guest post up over on Jen Allyson’s blog
I’ve created this page of one of the M&M’s (our nieces)

This time I’ve thrown in some embellishments from my own stash

IMG_2213

a badge/flair from Greatest View
the resin flowers and the blue crochet flower are from D-lish scraps
I even added a monkey eraser, thanks to Lucy for the kind donation *insert wink!*

IMG_2214

I just loved all the bits from the My Mind’s Eye Sweetest Thing “Bluebell” range
The colours
The patterns
And the cool stickers… SOOOO GOOD!

IMG_2216

and because I love that you dropped by here is the journaling

IMG_2218

and because I love that you’re still reading…
Here is a matching card I made using Jen Allyson’s gorgeous products

IMG_2208

And with that…
I’m out of here!
Have a great weekend
and remember
Breathe, I know I need reminding from time to time too!

Learnt The Truth From Tears I Cried

My second Guest page for Jen Allyson
was created using the My Mind’s Eye “Bluebell” products.

I really love this range.
and I really love the chipboard buttons!

IMG_2204

I even recycled
I just can’t throw out packaging that is… well… perfect!

IMG_2205

and the journaling reads…

IMG_2207

and you can read my post, about this page, on Jen’s blog
and if you’ve visited my blog you will see a new banner photo
and you will understand my journaling
and my woes in life lol

PS Layout background was created using Crafter’s Workshop stencil, texture paste and some Maya Road mist
You can read about this technique in this month’s Scrapbooking Memories Magazine (Volume 15 No.1)  (where I get to share the process *insert smiley grin*)

In My Imagination There Is No Hesitation

A little while ago Jen Allyson (Designer for My Mind’s Eye) left me a blog comment that made me smile.
She asked if I would like to do some Guest Posts for her blog “The Project Girl
Ummm… Fall on the floor, stumble over my lip, gasp and fall over again!!
Yeah I know! RIGHT!
Super shocked and feeling so so flattered!
I just love My Mind’s Eye products and Jen’s designs are some of my all time favourite.
PS: I said yes lol
So a couple of weeks ago I received a package of gorgeousness in the mail.
It contained some of the new “The Sweetest Thing” range.
Pieces from the “Tangerine” and “Bluebell” release.
I’ve had so much fun making some pages and I feel quite blessed to be able to share those on Jen’s blog.

My first post is here
and this is the first page I’ve shared

You will have to visit her blog to read more about the page
But, because I love that you visited, here are the close ups

We'll Live In Slow-motion And Be Free

Sometimes all it takes is a spark
The spark can be a thought,
a word,
a photo,
or a moment
Sometimes it can be all of these.
Sometimes it needs to be all of these.
Sometimes you might have one of these but there be no spark.
That’s how it was for me.
Back in May I took a photo that I thought was pretty awesome

NoParkingHere

I knew that I wanted to use it on a layout
I knew what I wanted to say
Just couldn’t find the words
The right words.
When I would sit to play with the photo nothing would come together
So the photo sat.
Enter the lovely Ronda, not literally ALTHOUGH that would be super cool!
A few years back Ronda started a challenge blog
Each month there would be “one little word” given as inspiration.
The blog was something I would turn to for inspiration and was one of my favourites.
This week Ronda shared, on her blog, how she was going to share some “little words”.
The word she has started with was unlock.
Reenter the photo.
I had always known that I wanted to make a page about how the bike is empty, like someone had left it.
I wanted to say something about the no parking here, about not standing still.
Something about growth, something about not being stagnant.
The word unlock was just the spark I had been waiting for.
Enter the moment of heart.
Most of my pages are created because I am in a moment.
A moment of heart.
A moment when thoughts flow from my heart.
Yesterday was one of those moments.
I had entered the Masters competition that Scrapbooking Memories Magazine hold each year.
Yesterday was the day that the rang each of the 10 winners.
By lunchtime I knew that I wasn’t going to get one of those calls.
This was a moment of the heart (all good, just had these thoughts (see journaling))
And I embraced this moment, the journaling flowed and a page was born

IMG_2030

I pulled out some treasured My Minds Eye papers
Made a washi tape rosette
Added some gorgeousness from D-lish scraps and a flair from Sasha’s Etsy store

IMG_2034

Played with my favourite colour combo blue, yellow and grey
Splodged some paint over a Crafter’s Workshop stencil

IMG_2035

and captured the heart moment
with the help of a quote from Brian Tracy

IMG_2036

“Learn to not wait for things to happen. Get out there and make opportunities for yourself.
Unlock the potential that you have waiting within.
Because “You have within you right now, everything you need to deal with whatever the world can throw at you”.
So step out, be brave and don’t wait”

and there it was
A moment that I have captured.
A word that needed to be said.
And a thought that will be shared with our girls forever.
Oh how I love sparks like these.
The ones that come together to create something wonderful.

An Image Of My Faith In The Unseen

Because it’s the girl’s swim night I thought I would blog early
and
Because I had received the gorgeous My Mind’s Eye products I found a little challenge on their blog
and
Because I haven’t had a collection like this to play with before
I
Played
Along
Using the Stella and Rose Hattie collection

IMG_3356

The only things I added were
the paper bag
the shipping tag
some paint
some stitching
some doodling
and some mist
because these things make me happy
oh and I also added the little ‘and’ from Crate

IMG_3358

I made a rolled flower with the gorgeous yellow trim

IMG_3359

just had to use the mmmm so good transparent frame

IMG_3361

some journaling, which had to go on the shipping tag

IMG_3362

and a little more yellow can never hurt

IMG_3363

and because it’s swim night
I am off to make some pumpkin soup and then a pasta bake for our dinner
Thanks for stopping by Smile

Who’ll Catch The Star When It Falls

My Mother’s Day started with a “Would you like a coffee?”
Followed by a different voice asking “would you like it with milk?”
and then another voice “would you like sugar?”
And yet another “would you like it in a mug?”
Dave then made me breakfast in bed
Egg, bacon, spinach and beetroot relish in a roll
Was nice
Lunch was spent with Mum, Dad, my sister and the M&Ms
Dinner was some Chinese brought home with Dave, after his soccer game
and now I am partaking in a coffee with my lovely man.

Yesterday I finished off this page, which I had lots of fun making

IMG_3343

I chopped up a Scrapmatts Dressform

IMG_3344

But I don’t think she minded Smile

IMG_3345

I didn’t have the right coloured lettering so I painted some Kraft alpha stickers

IMG_3346

see all the layers under the photo??
From the bottom up I used a vintage book page, a credit card slip, a page from a vintage dictionary,
a junk mail flier and on top is a file card
I also used lots of My Minds Eye Stella and Rose products
I just love the colours and the texture of the paper is wonderful!
The journaling, surprise surprise, was typed onto a luggage tag

IMG_3347

Right-e-o
Better finish my coffee and see if I can get a nuggle or three Smile
