REVIEW - "Bunchems"

Brought to you by Nuffnang and Funtastic "Bunchems"
 The postman arrived.
We beat him to the door and the girls were excited to see
That the package he delivered contained "Bunchems".

  None of us had heard of these before
But the box certainly had us intrigued and excited to create something fun.  

The Mega Pack contains more than 400 pieces and a book of ideas.
There are 8 different colours to choose from  

  And 36 pieces to dress up your creations.

"Squish 'em, connect 'em, create 'em"
The plastic "burr" spheres stick together
(they reminded us of hair curlers)
and easily pull apart for more creating.
Got to love reusable craft supplies!!!  

  The accessories simply stick into a specially designed hole in the spheres
So you can make endless amounts of characters or creatures.
"If you can think it, you can create it with Bunchems"  

    Bunchems are a great way for kids to use not only
Their imagination and creative construction skills
But also work on their fine motor skills
And engage in role play.  

Bunchems do come with some warnings.
Not meant for children under 4 years of age
They are a choking hazard
AND
They can get caught on loose clothing or hair.

Giving It A Bash - Part 2

New Year's Day saw us at our first Big Bash League cricket game.
The girls loved it so were over the moon
When I informed them that I had
Purchased tickets to another game!
It was also perfect timing as I had an email
From the lovely Jess, at Trail Agency.
She was wondering if we'd like to have some of the
2015 BBL merchandise.
P.E.R.F.E.C.T!  

We received a Primetime Hoodie and a V-Neck Scrum t-shirt,
From the new womens range.
(Both supporting Hobart Hurricanes (OF COURSE))

 

   The girls said the shirts were very comfy
And wonderful for the hot afternoon/evening
That we had at the cricket.

Giving It A Bash

We love cricket.
Love playing it.
Would watch (most) of a game on tv.
But we'd never even thought about going to see one live.
I'd always thought it would be expensive, long and the kids would get bored.
I was wrong! 

 

Last year (boy that year went fast) an email appeared in my inbox.
Asking if we'd like to go watch a T20 Big Bash League game.
We said yes and I am glad we did.

First decision was... what game we'd go to

And with that decided the rest was easy.
Pack a picnic and turn up.

So we chose the New Year's Day game,
Hobart Hurricanes against Sydney Thunder
Playing at the Blundstone Arena.

I was surprised that the ticket prices were very affordable
With kid tickets from $5, Adults from $20
And family prices start at $42.50.
And because the prices were so affordable
My sister and her lot decided to come along too.
The non-allocated seating tickets meant you have the option
Of sitting on seats or, as we did, on the grass area.

Walking in we entered the mecca for freebies.
The kids all enjoyed this part.
Free face painting,  photo opportunities galore,
Temporary tattoos, loads of promotional giveaways
Like the KFC buckets, Weet-Bix 4/6 score posters
And we all loved the free Zooper Dooper icypole and holders.

So with our bucket heads on, our faces painted
And out Hurricane's inflatable clappers inflated
We were ready for the game to start!

 

The crowd was a record crowd and we loved the atmosphere.
Lots of music, fireworks and competitions
To keep everyone entertained,
Even those that didn't like cricket!

 

Because our match was a night time one
We had packed our dinner (and snacks)
So by half time it was time to bring out our chicken rolls.
Our bags had been checked, before entering, at the main gate
And the security guard had made mention at the amount of rolls we had!
But with 13 hungry mouths to feed...
We needed every single crumb!
You could have, if you preferred, purchased food
From any of the takeaway venues on site.

The kids had a blast
Dancing in the over breaks, hitting their clappers
And holding up the Weet-Bix signs when a 4 or a 6 was hit.

 

 

Because the games are broadcast
We kept getting text/facebook messages
Saying we had been spotted on TV.

The kids even had opportunities to get autographs
From players and the mascot.

Lots of fun was had and I am sure we will be back
For another match soon.

Some things to note:
* If you want seats, rather than sitting of the grass,
Get there early. For our game, gates opened at 1.30
Even though our game wasn't till 7.
There was a woman's match beforehand
So there is definitely plenty to keep you entertained.

* Even though the website says you can bring "Unopened drinks"
Don't bring cans.
Security won't let you bring them in.

* You will need to park away from the ground.
So be prepared to walk to/from your car.
There are plenty of buses running to and from the ground.

* The night games are late so make sure you don't take tired kids.

* Enjoy the atmosphere and get into the game.

Get Creative With Spotlight

Nuffnang and family owned and operated Australian business Spotlight
Have given a group of bloggers the chance to #getcreative.

I was sent a pack of craft products (from American Crafts DIY Shop range).

2 different banner kits, 2 packets of tags,
A pack of bags and a pack of envelopes.
The uses for these items are almost endless.
Party decorations & invites are what first sprang to mind.
So I ditched the obvious and instead made something a little different.
Some really easy packaging ideas.
First off was a thank you bag.
You could easily slip in a gift card or present.

I used one of the envelopes and created packaging
For a wedding gift of cash or gift card.
The great thing about the envelope (and also the bag)
Is that it's still big enough to include a card of note.

My last idea was a different spin on my first bag.
This time I used some of the twine to make
A messy nest for the sticker and sentiment.

You could also use these ideas for a note to pop in your kids lunchbox.
