As Seen In Scrapbook Creations – ”Me @ 3”

Recently it was announced that Scrapbook Creations Magazine was ceasing publication.
I was super grateful to have had a page in the very last issue.

As Seen In Scrapbook Creations Magazine Issue 95

Back in September 2012 I had the honour of being featured in Scrapbook Creations “Who’s Who” article.
It was one of those “Who Me?” moments
And I had to reread the email SEVERAL times!
To go with the article I was required to create 3 layouts
So I did!

Loved this photo
Loved that summer

And I don’t mind this page either!

My next page I used one of my favourite colour combinations
Yellow and Grey

Used some of my favourite things
Including packaging

And I’ve used the negative of a stencil to create the misted background
Did you notice it was backwards??

And the final page
Was for a different season

Can you guess which one??
Yeah I think the colours might give you a clue?!

I even added some raindrops to the chipboard alphas

Yes it’s Autumn!

Loved spending time with these special friends
Loved pulling out my camera and just playing.
He enjoyed zooming through the puddle too
Time and time again!

Lots of fun.
I hope you can see the fun in each of these pages.
It’s a vital element in my creative process.
What is a vital element in your creative process??

As Seen In Scrapbook Creations Magazine Issue 97

A while back I was asked to take part in the Sketch Challenge for Scrapbook Creations Magazine
Excited that I can now show you my double page layout.
Normally a 2 page sketch would scare the pants of me
But once I realised that I could still scrap “my way” and still stay true to the sketch I was right.
So I started with the background

Adding some texture paste and colour to my trusty black cardstock
Then I pulled out pattern paper and embellishments

Some were subtle and got lost a little in the magazine photo
Like the bird paper clip

And the “refashioned L”
Made out of a “T”
The wooden alphas were altered with ink
The wood veneer arrows were altered with the liquid pearls.

I had fun mixing the embellishments.
Some I had been hoarding
And some I just love!

I love how it all came together.
I love that I could write this story down.
It’s a day I know she will remember forever!

Did I mention I love how it all came together??
Because I do!

Do you like 2 page layouts?
What’s the thing you like about them?
And if not… what is it about them that you find daunting??

Over On The Corner There's A Happy Noise

We are home today.
It’s school holidays, one week down and one week left.
Megan has had a sinusy head cold.
We were at the doctors on Friday, after she was home from band camp.
So she is dosed up on antibiotics and pain medication.
Then last night one of her eardrums perforated.
Poor tyke.
So today we are home.
But that gives me a chance to catch up on here.
And
as promised
another cool thing from this week

ScrapCreationsWho

Just a glimpse at one of the 4 pages in the current Scrapbook Creations Magazine (number 95).
I had an email a few months ago, very out of the blue, asking if I’d create 3 layouts and write a page about me.
Awesome opportunity that I’m gratefully happy to have had.

Being home today means I could also share a page I made using scraps from the September Cocoa Daisy kit.

Here is the blog post I shared on the Cocoa Daisy blog.
And here is the page I made

BookWeek

Had a play with washi tape

A Crafter’s Workshop stencil

and some Ranger Liquid Pearls

I also used PicMonkey to alter the photo and add my journaling straight to the photo

IMG_1864

Oh and because I’m happy you visited do you want a sneak at what the October Cocoa Daisy kit looks like?

Looking forward to this arriving here very soon!
Hopefully I will have some sneaks of my creations next week or not long after!!
