Feed Them On Your Dreams

Had a fun day at school today
Working with the Grade 6’s
on their scrapbooks
The last Style Lounge challenge, at Aussie Scrap Source, ended today
the theme was modern vintage
and this was my take on the challenge

IMG_4215

my take on the flower cluster

IMG_4216

used some Scrapmatts products on my page
the Signboard, painted with some white paint, as the school house sign

IMG_4217

and also ‘white washed’ the gorgeous fence

IMG_4219

and used some foam dots to make the gate open

IMG_4218

and the story behind the photo, literally lol

Simple And True

The final challenge has been set for Aussie Scrap Source’s Style Lounge challenge

IMG_3985

cut up the accent cuts paper

IMG_3986

pulled apart some basic grey and sassafras lass layered flowers and re-layered them

IMG_3987

wrote what I needed to say

IMG_3988

added some paint and punched a paper strip with a Martha Stewart punch

IMG_3989

yesterday my first Cocoa Daisy kit arrived
And the timing was good
because
This morning we had another trip to the airport
Dave is on his way to Thailand for work
which means once the girls have finished watching Funniest Home Videos
I am going to make a coffee and scrap some of the night away

I Would Gladly Give The Sun To You

A great deal was completed today
Won’t bore you with the boring bits but lets just say the to-do list was accomplished
and included a batch of choc chip cookies
and a page for a Jenni Bowlin competition that Aussie Scrap Source are running

IMG_3972

details of the competition are here
and details of my page are here

IMG_3979

added a rub on to the envelope and then added some mist

IMG_3975

the title is a quote that I wrote down a while ago
from the tv show Blue Bloods

IMG_3973

Had to jot down some thoughts that have been floating around my head

IMG_3977

so a few painted journal lines and I was off

IMG_3981

So that’s Thursday hit on the head
Ready for a full on Friday

With A Love Like That

Schools back and I finally had time to create a page for the new Aussie Scrap Source challenge
This time it was to create in the style of the amazing Louise Nelson
So I played and made this page

IMG_3959

used a Crafter’s Workshop mini retro squares template with some “Meadow Green” glimmer mist

IMG_3961

Printed my photo right onto the kraft cardstock, added some doodling and a Smiggle heart sticker

IMG_3963

applied some Studio Calico woodgrain rub ons to the tags
some paint on the Basic Grey alpha stickers
and some paint on a chopped up nested shape from Scrapmatts

IMG_3964

Yesterday was his birthday
He enjoyed a cheese cake birthday cake

and shortly we are about to have another slice, from the leftovers, with a coffee
gotta love that :)

It’s Like I Just Stepped Outside

This is the sight that greeted me when we arrived home from the airport last night

IMG_3744
The banner says Welcome Home and has lots of handprints and drawings all over it

I had been to Brisbane
at the Scrapbooking and Paper Craft Expo
I did have a hard time being away from home
but I did have a wonderful time meeting some amazing people
like the gorgeous Louise

IMG_3704com

and the wonderful Peg and Diane

IMG_3705

I also had the pleasure of meeting Debbie who certainly helped make my weekend memorable

IMG_3718com

The flight home was also memorable
with ash, from a volcano in Chile, in the air over Tasmania a lot of airlines had decided not to fly
Thankfully mine wasn’t one of them and apart from some delays I got home
we did have to fly at a lower altitude
this meant we were able to witness the amazing colours the ash and the sunset created

IMG_3739com

I was on the wrong side of the plane to take my own photos
so I asked a man who was sitting across the aisle to snap a few for me
While away my cold/flu became full on
and now I am home I feel a wreck and could do with a week in bed
I really wanted to complete this weeks Aussie Scrap Source challenge so I played with it today
in amidst of the sneezes lol

IMG_3749

the challenge is graphic colour block
and I made my page a 8.5x11

IMG_3750

I had also printed my photos on to white cardstock
and then I drew a border around each with a black pen

IMG_3751

I also used a black sharpie pen to outline the whole page, adding a little grunge here and there

IMG_3752

Jessica is having a ball at Grandma’s house
All being well she will be flying home Thursday
but I don’t think Grandma or Jessica will have too many problems if her trip home is delayed lol

Toot, Toot, Chugga, Chugga

Extreme weather hit our state today
Extremely cold weather
Extremely cold, wet and windy weather
So today was spent inside
and there was a fair bit of this

Finally got to move some things around my crafty table
Made this page for the Aussie Scrap Source Detailed Whimsy challenge

IMG_3687

I used some packaging that came yesterday with my gorgeous prize, that I won at Show Us Your Stuff, from Greatest View

IMG_3684

Used the fabbo Hanging Frame from Scrapmatts
I used my black sharpie pen to make the chain black but left the frame raw

IMG_3685

and the journaling

IMG_3686

Tomorrow is packing day
ready for early Friday morning
Jessica is off to Grandma’s house (the trip was her birthday present)
and me
well, I am off to Brisbane for the Scrapbook and Papercraft Expo and Convention

One Shoe On, One Shoe off

It may come as a surprise to some
But my favourite scrapping style is
in fact
clean and simple
I just love it because it is straight to the point
It’s all about the things that matter
the photo
and
the story
I think that most of my pages like that
about the photo
and
the story
I do tend to lean to the grunge and the freestyle but mostly you will still see clean lines on a simple page
The new style challenge, at Aussie Scrap Source, was to create a clean and simple page
here is my creation

IMG_3490

oh I do like to document photos and the story

IMG_3493

and
as promised
photos
of the other 2 girls
at last nights hippy disco, which they all enjoyed Smile

IMAG0262com

they are all tired tonight though, me too Smile

You Can Climb A Ladder Up To The Sun

Ok
So yesterday I didn’t have much to say
Today
Is
Different
but first
This page
For the Aussie Scrap Source Style Lounge Freestyle Whimsy challenge

IMG_3433

I’ve been a long time admirer of Danielle’s work and was so happy to see her picked up by the Scrap Source team

IMG_3436

the journaling to complete my story

IMG_3437

right
Said I was going to talk…
So…
I just love these challenges
Anything that gets you to create
I just love that they push you to create
Push you to create in and out of your own little creative box
What I have found interesting is that the last 2 challenges, for Aussie Scrap Source, were probably the styles closest to mine
But I found that when I created the pages, for these challenges, I kept second guessing myself
Rather than letting it flow I found that I would stop and contemplate the process
Bad move
It meant that the process became forced
The thing that I did learn, about myself, is that if I think that I am limited then I won’t achieve anything more than what I am limited by.
I need to turn this around
I found this quote
“Limitations live only in our minds. But if we use our imaginations, our possibilities become limitless.”
by Jamie Paolinetti
It is so true
I need to see these limits as possibilities
I already see the possibilities to create but it’s the way in which I then create that then gets limited
I then wonder
what, in life, do we start to limit and what potential would we have if we were to remove those limitations
and
what limitations do we put on other people and what would happen if we were to remove those
I want to live, and create, with possibilities not limitations
and
I want others to see the possibilities in their own lives and I don’t want to limit them with my own limitations
and
above all else I do need to be myself, need to find myself in all things and need to be true to myself

right
told you I would talk
Smile

IMG_3379

and some layering and machine stitching

IMG_3380

love this shot

IMG_3382

and the journaling and thoughts behind the page

IMG_3381
