The third week of Aussie Scrap Source’s Make It Yourself Challenge is up
And you have to make your own rub ons or transfers
So I thought I would give the make your own rub ons a whirl
I have tried this technique before but not for a long time
Using the back of a sheet of transparency paper (so the side you don’t normally print on)
I printed out a picture of the Aussie flag, sourced from the internet
Sadly my print beaded too much and wasn’t going to transfer as it should
But this didn’t stop me from using it, oh no!!
I sprayed the ink with water in a mini mister and I just love the result
I love that it is like a water colour
Wish the stars hadn’t bled but I still like it!
The other thing I experimented with was something I have been thinking about for a long time
You know the body tattoo transfers that you get with packets of chips etc??
Well, I wondered if you could actually transfer them on to paper
I am happy to report…. YOU CAN!
Just apply as you would to the body, I squirted mine with water in my mini mister because it was on hand.
BRILLLLLLLIANT! Glad I finally gave this a go, will be using this again!
I found a stash of shipping tags, that I had put away, so I’m all tagged up again lol
Love these challenges
Love that they are getting people to think outside their scrap stash
Hope it gets you creating too
Looks awesome Sharmaine. I have tried making my own rubons in the past and had the same problem with beading. Would love to find someone that could show me how to do it without it doing that, but heck I think in your layout the beading actually makes it. I am yet to do my Aussie day layout, but I do have tatoos so think I might try this also.
