Selfday Sunday

Yep today I was given a selfday. Dave took the girls off to Church and left me home in bed. I have been so tired that I just needed a break, some time out, some sleep.... and I did :)

I got up, just after they left, and had a shower and then made a big bowl full of porridge. Before I ate that I took some photos that I have wanted to take in a while and then I ate and checked my email and then headed back to bed!!! Had to turn on the electric blanket, I can't sleep if I am cold, and didn't wake till just before they all got home, literally! I woke, turned off the electric blanket and they pulled into the driveway! They had all gone to the supermarket before coming home so lunch and dinner were sorted. In the afternoon Dave put on some Peter Combe and the girls had fun dancing and singing till we jumped in the van and headed off for some mattress purchasing. So the 2 new mattresses will be delivered Tuesday and we also can home with 2 new towels, for Dave and I, a new bath mat, a new wool quilt for Lucy and a new cover for it. Don't you love sales!!

I am feeling so much better after my morning and am thankful to Dave for it. I don't cope with being over busy, I love routine and plodding around home. This last couple of weeks have been draining, with Dave away and visiting my Great Aunt so now I am feeling more like me again.

Thank you too all who have stopped by and shown support for me in my Project Scrap-Away adventure. I am not feeling overly confident about this round, should I say that?? I just did and its just being honest. I really struggled with this challenge and now that I have sent in my layout I sit and wonder if it is too simple. Doubting that it will be enough but hoping that the judge sees the wonderful page that I see and that I will get through this round. I love the page I made, its simple, as I do, and it speaks of me. Time will tell and its another process of emotions I have to work through. I have lacked the self confidence of late and I know this is due to being tired and of being too busy to let my mind think. Hoping I don't let people down and am thankful for their support.

Ok enough of the heavy duty, it's layout share time... For this challenge we had to re-work one of our first layouts. The first 4 pages I ever made were cover pages for each of the girl's albums. The first 2 pages I don't have the photos to reuse so it was down to the 3rd and 4th. The 4th one was of Lucy

So using the photos I made this

and this

and yep I didn't use either of these as my entry lol I ended up using a page of Elizabeth and will share that one Wednesday.

Will leave you with some photos I took this afternoon,

Megan in the top Dave brought back from Brisbane for her

Jessica posing in the apricot tree

this may be blurry but I loooove it, cos it's so Jessica!

The shoes Lucy got from Dave's Brisbane trip

and the doona cover we bought Lucy today

Ok think thats about it, hope your new week is a wonderful one :)

  3. The transformation with Lucy's photos are amazing. I've heard it said never to change your first attempts of scrapping, but seeing these it makes me wonder. If these are what you didn't submit, I'm sure we'll be blown away by what you did put in. Well done on yur work and well done on recognising when you need some time out. Mothering and household management are huge roles to keep pace with.
