They Flatter Me

Today I had my haircut
Something that usually only happens once a year
Due to the lack of time
So today I rang for an appointment
And the lovely ‘answer the phone’ hairdresser lady said I could go today
So go I went!!

Each of the girls, in their own way, have said it looks good
Anything would look good after looking at the lifeless mop I had prior to the cut!
Before heading to the hairdresser I made some banana bread

Specifically for the fair school is having this weekend :)
I also made a easy peasy pear pie
It’s not really a pie
More a tart
But easy peasy pear pie sounds nicer that easy peasy pear tart
No??

This wasn’t for the school fair
It was for some hungry mouths
And they gobbled it up and said thank you
It really was easy peasy too
A sheet of frozen (defrosted) puff pastry
Placed it on a greased tray
Folded up the edges
Sprinkled some brown sugar on it
Sliced up the ‘about to grow legs’ pears (I used 3 because they were very mushy)
Trickled on some honey
Sprinkled on some cinnamon cos our girls LOOOOOVE cinnamon
And cooked it till the pastry was golden brown :)

See Easy PAAAAEASY!!
If I make it again I won’t use as much honey, cos that ran off and caramalised too much for my liking :)

Oh and I got this in the mail today

100_0844

It’s from my best friend’s best friend
Cos we aren’t exclusive or anything ;)

Isn’t the card gorgeous??? LOVE IT Thanks Manda!!
But what she wrote inside got me thinking
It spoke to me because she knows me in real life
I have often had online friends say wonderful things to me
About me
But sometimes you wonder if they are just saying it to be nice
Like… If they really knew me… would they say those things?
Not that I don’t appreciate those words
COS I DO
But when you hear it from someone that knows you in real life…
Well it’s very heartwarming and makes you grow a few inches
I spose what I am trying to say is who have you reached out to today?
Who have you spoken words of encouragement to?
Something as easy as a phone call
Something as worthwhile as sending a card
Something that says you are thought of, appreciated and loved
Something real
Something meaningful

You never know what the other person is really thinking until you hear it
and you never know how much your comments impact on the the other person
Don’t leave it till tomorrow
go tell someone now :)

  6. I like the sound of easy peasy pear pie but easy peasy and gluten free are mutually exclusive. :( I like the idea though so my brain is ticking over.
Thanks for the reminder to reach out too. Often I think to do it but don't actually do it.
