Everything That Glitters Is Not Gold

I started a page
I didn’t like it at all
So I pulled it all apart again
Then I did something I hadn’t done before
I did a search for how someone else might have used the paper
I searched over at Two Peas and found
This page by Chelseavn
I just love her work and this page was no exception
When I saw the page I kicked myself
Of course I should add paint!
I started over and had more success
So here is my page inspired by the lovely Chelseavn

100_3077

I had pulled out some old Hambly rub ons

100_3083

Cut them out

100_3079

and added some dimension

100_3080

Had to get some swiss cheese action happening :)

100_3084

and the title and journal spot looked too black against the page
So I white washed them too :)

100_3082

The journaling :)

Trial and error
Taking the good with the bad
Just giving it a go
Working things out
Not giving up
All of these came to play today
As did, the more important one…
Find a way to make it fun!

  3. I discovered Chelsvean through OLW. she started doing a lot of our challenges and she would usually be one of my top picks. she's amazing and so are you Sharmaine! like what you did with the inspiration!

  4. I love the title. How did you white wash it? It looks like canvas alphabets to me. But great job done on the paint! I'm still a novice at painting.

  6. Thanks everyone :)
Serene, I just used white paint and washed over everything, using less over areas where I had the journaling. The alphas are 'fabric' Thickers which gives that canvas look. Denise, I discovered Chelseavn through OLW too, her work is always ALWAYS so amazing.
    Dave.... I love you everywhere
