Singing for Spring

The girls and I have been spotting blossom, on some of the trees, as we drive to school
Spring is coming and with the mild winter we have had I think it will be here sooner rather than later!
I’m hoping to get some blog posts happening this week
Thought I would kick off with this hybrid page for Marks Paper Co, using Stacy’s Pretty as a Picture Digital Kit

Some close ups so you can see the texture and dimension I tried to create ;)

I resized the alphas so I could use my punch and not show how bad I am at cutting out circles :)

and a little journaling :)

Our week has started out much like last week
One with diarrhoea and Dave busy with work
Last week Jessica woke early on Monday, and by early I mean early… 1.30am, with runny poo
today it’s poor Lucy’s turn, thankfully no early wake up :)
Last week Dave was up the other end of the state, 4 hour drive, and was away 3 nights, was meant to be 2 but turned into 3.
Today he is down this end of the state but equally busy.

Hopefully I will be back tomorrow with more sagas from last week, there were a few :)
But I will have photos and some creative goodness so stay tuned :)

Autumn Time

Our trip on the train was on a gorgeous Autumn into Winter type of day

gorgeous blue sky
Lots of autumn leaves to play in

And the Marks Paper Co “Time" Digital kit was perfect for an Autumn-y layout, even though it is a kit full of summer colours :)

Love the alarm clock element :)

and my journaling :)

My Little Blue Tongue

The Marks Paper Co. Spring kit is out and called “August”

You can purchase it here

Stacy has posted the hybrid page I created here so I can now share it with you too :)

a really quick and easy way to add dimension to your page is just to cover some foam dots with pattern paper
Then cut the paper down to the circle shape and ink around the edges

easy :)
Pulled out the trusty blue typewriter for the journaling, love it! Mistakes and all ;)

One of my favourite photos on one of my favourite layouts :)

I Used To Play The Saxophone

but now someone else plays it

and will end up playing it better than I ever did :)

I spied these this afternoon

and this one made me teary, the first flower since last year

It has lots of other buds so I am looking forward to seeing it all in flower :)

My very first work for Marks Paper Co. went up on the blog today
This months kit is Birds, Blooms and Bikes

You can find it at here at TwoPeas
I don’t have Photoshop
But I do have Microsoft Word and with some advice from Trusty Dave I got busy
Layering elements, changing sizes… lots of fun
and then I got down to printing
and creating
I absolutely adore the tricycle element in the kit and was inspired to find some trike photos
I found 2
One of Lucy at 3
and one of me at 3
So firstly here is Lucy’s layout

It’s a 8.5x11 and almost all of the things are from the digi kit
everything except this little corner :)

and the Jenni Bowlin lettering

Did some distressing

and some typing

isn’t that tricycle just the coolest??? I love it
and had to use it again
But the tag goes the other way this time ;)

The title uses alphas from a previous digi kit Text Me

I layered it onto the pink paper from the Birds, Bloom and Bikes kit and then went over each with some dimensional magic to give them dimension

and had to have some texture so added some hand stitching and a doily :)

See the blue trike paper, sigh! SOOO good!!
Added some ink for more dimension and a ‘wheels’ brad because it was waiting for such a time as this ;)

and the journaling :)

So I have taken a step out in the hybrid world
Not as scary as I thought it would be lol
Can’t wait for Stacy’s next kit and what inspiration it will provide

Now I will leave you with a photo
Just a little something I was playing with today :)

Helped out at my sister’s garage sale
Dave’s soccer team won their grand final
Had my pal Bron (with her hubby and new bub) over for dinner, they fly back to the UK this week :(

Sunday…
Church in the morning
And then
We took the girls to the Model Makers and Collectors Exhibition
Where we had fun checking out all of this:
The trains, of course,

This man reminded me of Wilson from Home Improvements :)

A Fair for Bears

The very cool boats

Some of this

and all of us, except Lucy, thought he was pretty cool too :)

This month Jodi, from QTea is sponsoring a challenge over at Scrap Lounge
She sent each of the QTea DT girls the kit so we could also play along, very cool :) :)
This is what I made

and some of the internal pages :)

Took me quite a while to get it made so I am glad it’s now finished and really happy with how it turned out :)
