They’re A Page Right Out Of History

A day spent kicking around home today
A surprise visit from Mum, Dad and one of the M&Ms
An email from Dave to say he has booked in his leave for Christmas (YAY)
A scrapbook page

Inspired by this sketch (212) from Pencil Lines, and the gorgeous Sasha Farina

Some more super wonderful Such Sweet Tierney chipboard buttons

and one of my favourite things right now
The 7gypsies mini ephemera packs

Happiness Hit Her Like A Train On A Track

Over the September school holidays we looked after my sister’s kitten and puppy
Thought each was worthy of their own layout
So today I had a play with one of the Pencil Lines sketches
I really liked the sketch in this post, even though the challenge deadline has passed I gave it a go anyway

We Can’t Hide The Truth Inside

Today I received some goodies from Such Sweet Tierney
AND
Pencil Lines are celebrating their 4th birthday
So I thought I would give one of the challenges a go
I picked Karola’s challenge (I flipped the sketch and used part of the circle instead of all of it)
I also challenged myself to do the page in under 10 minutes, not including paint dry time,
AND
use the Halloween-y colours of black and orange, a combo I like :)
So this is what evolved from all of that :)

Aren’t these buttons just amazing?!?!?!

I love it when you can use paint to adhere things
And speaking of adhering things AND Halloween…
Helmar are having a Halloween blog hop, gooooo check it out HERE

Tonight, for dinner, we had Curtis’ Lamb Curry with Cabbage Slaw and Cucumber Raita
What I love about these recipes is that you can simply add all the ingredients to your online groceries , ours was delivered today in the rain :)
We made this dish without the chilli powder and substituted the bay leaf and cloves for Garam Masala

All the girls loved this one
And it was delish, even without the chilli (I was being nice to poor Jessica who doesn’t like spicy food much)
The Roti was the most loved lol

What If Sunshine Could Dance…

Played along with Pencil Lines and sketch 205

The journaling

Love the Fabric Ripstrips from Studio Calico
A simple case of stick, finger space then pleat and look what you can make!!

100_2925

and finally cut into the Periodical paper I had been drooling over
Added Hambly clear sticker that had been floating around my table for yonks
And it’s all sweet :)

 100_2926

and I just had to share 2 other things…
I made myself the best ever latte tonight
and
I had a slipper go through the washing machine today
Just a single slipper
Was Lucy’s
She had dumped all her washing in the machine, after she got back from her ‘holiday’ at Mum and Dad’s
Seems she missed something!!!
It washed up ok
Not as good as the cow from Monday!!

Inspiration Is The Remedy

The remedy I just might have been looking for :)
Totally inspired by the sketch over at Pencil Lines, sketch 199,
and by the new challenge at Scrapping the Music, the song Remedy by Jason Mraz
I decided to scrap this page, of Dave and I

100_2647

I turned the Pencil Lines sketch but kept the basics of the sketch, where I could

100_2650

I stamped and heat embossed (Studio Calico stamp) on some Studio Calico paper

100_2651

added some wood grain, Sassafras Lass border sticker,
dyed a cut up doily with some Glimmer Mist, added some Kaiser pearls

100_2653

and journalled on a shipping tag :)

100_2652

wish I had thought to drip some ink BEFORE I had stuck the paper down with some staples… oh well :)

100_2654

While I remember this is a photo I took of our backyard, for Dave’s Mum,
showing how dry the yard has got and how dry our winter has been!

100_2612

I have been transferring photos from my old computer and trying to get my new laptop up and running
but hope to have some photos to share soon from my NEW DSLR camera!!
In the meantime will leave you with just one photo of this lovely little bean, one of the M&M’s,
who turned 5 this week

We are enjoying spending lots of time with them, between all the other things life packs in for us :)
