It’s been a busy week
It’s been an overwhelming week
It’s been a week where I have often felt that I have achieved, or am achieving, very little
Sometimes, as a Mum, it’s hard to see their belief in me
To see their appreciation for what I do
To see that I am able to do this job and that we will all be ok
Sometimes it’s hard to find the motivation to do all the things that are there to be done
To stop procrastinating and just get on with it
That has been my week
And, for now, I am stopping, reflecting on what I have done, taking stock and realising that they do believe in me
They believe that I can do this
I just need to believe it too :)
The last week (and a bit) has included, in no particular order (even though I did try)
* a running carnival for our 2 bigger girls
I got there just in time to see the re-start of Jessica’s first race, the 800m.
It was restarted because Jessica was in front and everyone tripped over her
Yep they all fell on top of her and the race restarted
I think it threw her confidence because she ended up coming last, by a long way
It didn’t deter her though
She went on to get 3 firsts
One of those was the 100m and she got the fastest time so is off to the inter-primary event at the end of the month
Megan also did well, she came home with 4 ribbons for her 4 events
Again the first were for the shorter events and she could have done better if her shoes had stayed on
They aren’t too big for every day use but when it comes to running it seems her feet shrink or something lol
I said she should wear 2 pairs of socks but she didn’t
She even had one race where a sock came off as well as the shoes…
* Lucy had an excursion last Friday
Was to the same park as the running carnival, so I was there 2 days in a row
Dave had the day off so we had a coffee together before heading to the park to meet up with Lucy’s class
Dave spent the time pushing all the kids on a hurdy gurdy like contraption
When they all left Dave and I went and had some lunch before heading back to school to collect everyone
I took the camera with me and didn’t once pull it out of my bag
* Visited my friend Bron and on Sunday we all went to the dedication of baby Isaac.
I took 2 photos before giving up because my camera wasn’t liking the light in the church
* Elizabeth had a birthday party to go to on Saturday
So I made a quick card using the Banana Frog stamps I received last week
Love the Matryoshka doll stamps and Elizabeth LOVES anything Babushka-y so it was an obvious choice :)
Will have a post tomorrow with something else that I have been working on for Banana Frog :)
* Made this page for a challenge that Suzie gave the Design Team for Love Scrappin’
To see more about the challenge, and maybe give it a go yourself, head over to Suzie’s blog
I also challenged myself to use lots of flowers
and lots of Basic Grey alpha stickers
The hand I made by using a broken toy as a stamp
I like that type of recycling :)
* Online grocery shopping has finally hit our state and tonight we had our first delivery
I don’t know if we will use it often but being that we had free delivery I thought we would give it a go
It also meant it gave us something to do and it was a true novelty for the girls, who were each given a toy delivery truck from the delivery man :)
* Dave flew out, early, to Melbourne this morning. Away for work and back late tomorrow night
Missing him, bad.
* I started this page a while ago
I love the photo but was stumped as to what to do with it and, more to the point, what to say
But I got there in the end and am glad its now complete :)
* Finally finished off all the happy mail that I have been working on
5 parcels to the US and $80+ later in postage I can breath again
I find that things left to sit are a huge stumbling block for me
I just needed to get these parcels out the door so I could move on to other things
It took me a looong time to get them out the door though lol
I work so much better if I can just get things done as soon as I start them
* Dave had his soccer semi final, for the summer cup he has been playing.
They won and the grand final is on this weekend along with a zillion other things :)
* Helped out in the canteen at school again last week, right before heading to the running carnival
Also helping out for a little bit in the morning, because they are in need of help, and will be rolling wraps :)
* Finally almost over this cold. Still have a cough, from time to time, but my nose seems to have cleared up which is a relief because it was driving me batty, well more batty :)
* I know there is more but I just can’t think of it :) So this will have to do because I am sure you will be tired from reading it all. I know I just yawned so it must be plenty :)
Will leave you with this, a wonderful version of the song that is in my head right now :)
ciao :)
