You Light The Night Up Like The Moon

Life has certainly been busy busy busy
Have one home today, with a cold/flu
Lots of things keeping us busy
spending time with family and with friends
not much time around home
but I do have a favour
American Crafts have run a thickers challenge on facebook
I entered my love canvas

and now it needs some votes, voting closes Friday morning (US time)
So if you would like to help you need to ‘like’ American Crafts Facebook page HERE
and then vote by liking my canvas HERE

I’m quite a few votes behind the leader so any help would be appreciated, thanks

I hope to be back blogging (and scrapping for that matter) soon
till then, and as always, thanks for stopping by

Review–Vaseline Dry Skin Lotion

I was a little excited to be invited to take part in my first Product Talk by Nuffnang
With 3 of our four girls suffering from dry skin and eczema I was eager to see if this ‘new’ product helped

The first thing I noticed, about the pack, was how comfortable the bottle was to hold
Sometimes these types of bottles are hard to hold or feel heavy
not this one
Its shape is wonderful to hold
The next thing I noticed was the lovely smell of the lotion
Again some of these products can be a bit whiffy on the nose
not this one

With the added vitamins A, E and B5 I was then interested to see how it would work on our drier skinned family members
For the 2 with the eczema it did help, with giving a little more life to the dry skin,
but didn’t help to relieve the itchiness, which is something I search for in the “perfect skin lotion”
I will continue to use the lotion on the 2 with the drier skin
but for the one with more eczema I think we will still need to ‘attack’ the skin with something else

I used the lotion often too and it was especially good after my Friday in the school canteen
You know how it is
Canteen plays havoc with your hands
Hands in and out of the washing up water
Hands in and out of plastic gloves
Hands in and out of freezers and ovens
The poor hands get a real work out and they certainly gave a sigh of relief when I used the Vaseline lotion
and felt so much better afterwards
I would love to keep a small bottle of this in the car
as I can see it being rather useful
and any product that is readily available at the supermarket gets points from me!

Disclosure: This is not a paid sponsored post. I received complimentary bottle of Vaseline for review purposes and all opinions expressed are purely my own.

Blank Stares At Blank Pages

Today I played along with a challenge that the lovely Lisa set at Cocoa Daisy
you can come play too, it’s all here
I used the Cocoa Daisy Urban Loft kit to create my page

lots of layers
lots of paint and some spray, maybe too much spray lol

Love the coat hanger paperclips that are in the kit

added some tape from my own stash

and the flowers

and the tag I used for the title and the journaling

Been cold here again today
Some snow in amongst the rain
wasted snow
any snow that doesn’t settle is wasted lol

I’m Taken With The Notion

A busy and full weekend
meant today was a bit of a shock
Nothing on the calendar
4 loads of washing though
and I made some chicken sausage rolls
and I created a page, inspired by the 1 July challenge at Once Upon A Sketch

Beginning of last month saw the arrival of my youngest brother’s son
I changed the sketch a little
and had some fun
a paper bag
an envelope
and a recycled tag (the ‘Sam’)
as well as some Such Sweet Tierney buttons

some Banana Frog stamps
some doodling
some layered stickers
some Tim Holtz tape

some blue mist
a Heidi Swapp mask
some machine stitching

and some journaling

another ‘nothing on the calendar’ day tomorrow
wonder what I will get up to???!!!

Sweet Dreams Till Sunbeams Find You

A busy day
But had time to have a little play
with a word from Scrapmatts
and one of the cool Steampunk figures from Altered Artifacts
to create this simple ATC

and as promised my newest page from my book that I’ve been creating with the Grade 6’s
also featuring a Steampunk figure from Altered Artifacts

A page to document the special things that they did this year
Back to school again tomorrow
Friday = canteen day

Feed Them On Your Dreams

Had a fun day at school today
Working with the Grade 6’s
on their scrapbooks
The last Style Lounge challenge, at Aussie Scrap Source, ended today
the theme was modern vintage
and this was my take on the challenge

my take on the flower cluster

used some Scrapmatts products on my page
the Signboard, painted with some white paint, as the school house sign

and also ‘white washed’ the gorgeous fence

and used some foam dots to make the gate open

and the story behind the photo, literally lol

We’re Still Rockin’

Brrrr it’s cold here
Saw some snow falling today
nice size flakes they were too
I keep dreaming of a snow day
But reality is that it probably won’t settle enough to be snowed in
or to make snow balls
or snowmen
or to even have snow in our backyard
I dream!!

Yesterday I dropped the girls off at school and went to hang out with the gorgeous Gina
We had a fun time scrapping

it truly was lovely to sit and work on some pages
I started 3!!
and today I finished off 2
here is one

Inspired by the new Kraft It Up challenge
I’ve been hoarding this gorgeous knitted flower for a loooooong time
My wonderful net-friend Linda sent it to me quite some time ago and it was just perfect for this page

had a play with some “new to me” things that I bought while I was in Brisbane

felt good to use them

also pulled out some older products
this Heidi Swapp mask I’ve had a while now

Like the watery effect that came from drying the glimmer mist with heat

Tomorrow I’m off to scrap with the Grade 6s at school again
I worked on my page today and I’m looking forward to see what they have all created

Look Up At The Rain

Been a busy weekend
Yesterday we celebrated the 4th birthday of this little munchkin

We spent the morning freezing our toes off at the playground
The gorgeous Urban Loft kit from Cocoa Daisy went on sale over the weekend too
Here are the first three pages I made using this and the Pencil Factory add-on

a page documenting the same day last year

pulled apart one of the Sassafras Lass blossom and layered it up with some paper flowers, a sticker and pearls

tag is from my own stash

second page was pure play

love this photo because it captured three of the girls in their sunglasses

slid some paint over the top of the Basic Grey Alphas

and the paper had the perfect spot to write the story

love the Pink Paislee tissue paper and misted the kite with some soft blue glimmer mist

and the third page

adore that camera sticker

sprayed the American Crafts paper with some glimmer mist
then wiped off the excess to keep the dimensional white lines white
the tissue paper I stuck down and then pulled off to make the drip effect

and the My Little Shoebox alphas were great for my journaling

love the colours in this kit!
Yellow, grey, blue… yum
