I’ve Been Driving for An Hour Just Talking To The Rain

Inspired by Kim’s challenge I made a canvas instead of a layout

IMG_0037

The white is just for the photo
I really wanted to make the “breathe” to stick out
So its bigger than the canvas base it is on

IMG_0039

I used papers from the May kits and these clouds from April

IMG_0041

cut some butterflies to add dimension, texture

IMG_0042

and movement

IMG_0046

I also used the Crafter’s Workshop Blazonry 6x6 Stencil (that comes with the May kit)
and a number stencil

IMG_0045

and layered up my dymo tape

IMG_0040

Played lots with the canvas
Adding layers and textures
Bliss!

Building Your Dream Has To Start Now

Another challenge
Another page

IMG_0065

this page is for Lisa’s challenge

IMG_0068

I just love the Crafter’s workshop splats stencil
I used it lots and after seeing Louise Nelson’s video (for Jenni Bowlin) on splats
I was reminded of the technique and the bingo markers I had bought years ago

IMG_0069

I’ve now used the technique a few times and it fits in so well with the Graffiti Bridge kit

If The Band Slows Down We'll Yell For More

One of the great things about Cocoa Daisy is the supportive Design Team
And this shines through at crop time.
The team pulls together and shows support by creating layouts for various challenges that others host
I made a couple of support layouts and this is the first one

IMG_0059

It’s for Anja’s challenge

IMG_0062

and I used pieces from the May kit, along with bits from my stash

IMG_0063

I love that there are Crafter’s Workshop stencils in the kit
and I love that I can use moulding paste to add some texture and depth

IMG_0064

Did I mention that the Cocoa Daisy crop is loaded with inspiration?
I’m sure I would have, because… it is!!!

IMG_9997

so many cool things in this kit!

IMG_9998

and the low down on all that is happening over the weekend at Cocoa Daisy

The Falling Leaves Drift By The Window

One last Scrapmatts page to share with you this month

IMG_9976

It’s simple
But so is it’s message

IMG_9979

I enjoyed misting up some white paper with some yellow Maya Road mist and some red Glimmer Mist
to create a background for the left over from the Leaves chipboard

IMG_9980

Really happy with how it turned out

We've Cried In The Darkness, We've Laughed In The Sun

Life certainly is all about circles
This week we’ve been sad with the news that Dave’s fabulous Great Aunt passed away after fighting cancer
Dave’s flying to Adelaide on Tuesday, with his Mum, for the funeral.
Then today we had joyous news that the newest Kruijver has arrived.
Dave’s youngest brother and our Sister In Law have just had a baby boy, as yet unnamed.
We hope to visit this new little man real soon!

I’ve another Scrapmatts layout to share with you

IMG_9958

It’s simple
but I like that

IMG_9961

I used a Ornate Frame 13

IMG_9962

added some vellum
and turned it into a window

IMG_9963

to hide the photo and journaling

IMG_9964

and I funneled the journaling out of my head and onto the page.
Thankful for that.

One More Cup Of Coffee For The Road

A while ago I spied a freebie pdf file that Tina Aszmus had made and shared on her blog
I wrote to her and asked if I could convert the file to one I could use with the Silhouette Cameo
she said yes *insert smiley face*
However it wasn’t as easy as I thought, to convert the file, so I needed some help
In steps the lovely Kim Watson
she converted the file and made it into something I could cut *insert smiley face*
I then used the cut text and used it as a stencil to create this page

IMG_9909

love the splodgy text *insert smiley face*

IMG_9914

I used a Cocoa Daisy cup stamp with some heat embossing

IMG_9915

a Scrapmatts heart

IMG_9916

and the journaling (on a tag I also cut with the Silhouette)

IMG_9917

*insert another smiley face*

We've Got A Long Way To Go And A Short Time To Get There

Just finished uploading some things to the Scrapmatts gallery
Will share them all with you but I will start with just these two
This one is inspired by the April White With 1 challenge

IMG_9965

I used the leftovers from this page
Stuck them onto the white cardstock and then put gesso over the top to make them white

IMG_9969

I added some black + white = grey

IMG_9970

painted some Scrapmatts flourishes to make some exhaust fumes (!??!!!)

IMG_9971

and cut a ornate frame piece in half to create a photo corner

IMG_9972

and I typed up the journaling

IMG_9974

I also made this page

IMG_9664

just because I love kraft on kraft

IMG_9666

I used the cool packet of Assorted Words

IMG_9667

to help tell this story

IMG_9668

back later with some more scrapmatts inspired pages

My Eyes Can Dimly See The Pattern Of My Life And The Puzzle That Is Me

This is my other new favourite layout

IMG_9904

I made it for the April pinterest challenge on the Cocoa Daisy blog

I made it using the cool hexagon stamp from Cocoa Daisy

IMG_9905

I made it cutting up some of the pattern paper from the April kit

IMG_9907

I made it using alpha sticker are from my own stash
I made it because I love this picture and I love that the girls let me take it

IMG_9908

I made it and I am glad

You Can Climb A Ladder Up To The Sun

Love the Kraft It Up challenge for April
It’s to use 3 other pieces of Kraft as well as the Kraft base.
I think it might be the prompt to overload the Kraft that I love?!
So here is what the prompt created

IMG_9941

Kraft coloured alphas

IMG_9948

Kraft cardstock on Kraft cardstock
Using my silhouette cameo to cut some numbers

IMG_9949

Corrugated cardboard is good Kraft

IMG_9950

and a brown paper bag scrap…
That’s almost as good as a brown paper bag!

IMG_9951

I used bits from a kit that I purchased from Tania, at Just Scrap and Stamp
this is what the kit looked like

Sweet Daffodil Embellishment Kit for Scrapbooking or Cardmaking

So you can see I still have quite a few bits left
I love the yellow and grey
and love it with the Kraft
