I finally finished off all my Design Team commitments for the month

I had a few incentives for getting organised and everything done, apart from the fact we have been sick and busy the first thing was this workshop that starts next week, I bite the bullet and signed up to my first ever workshop and really looking forward to what Vee has up her sleeve for us ‘students’ lol

And the second incentive was the challenge over at Inkurable Stampers, which was to alter a playing card
So today I played, I took a Smiggle card and covered it with some tissue paper

Then pulled out some stamps I recently bought from Paper Forest as well as a spotty stamp from Prima and some alpha stamps from Hero Arts
Sprayed on some glimmer mist, added some water colour pastels and some holes, because I miss making holes and I had some fun making this

The Queen of Hearts always reminds me of Alice in Wonderland so that was the inspiration for this card

Tomorrow we are hoping a plumber arrives and replaces our leaky hot water cylinder, joy joy joy

Back Into The Swing Of Things

Our school girls went back to school today.

So it was just Lucy and I at home again, felt weird lol

We filled the day in around home.

Building computers

She wrote the keys for the keyboard.

We also made a cubby house, pulling out some of the couch and she moved in behind,

and loved it!!

And because I finally had time I thought I would tackle the new Inkurable Stampers Challenge.

The challenge is to stamp using a bleaching technique, Sarah has shared a tutorial on it so please go check it out :)

So I played.

I used the cap of the bleach bottle to bleach some circles onto the Co-ordinations cardstock

I learnt, through playing, that the ‘glossy’ side of the Co-ordinations paper does NOT bleach and that some of the other colours of Co-ordinations cardstock don’t bleach too well either. I used this cardstock, as opposed to Bazzill, in hope that it might bleach through to the other colour core but it didn’t. I also scrunched up some Kraft cardstock and dipped it into the bleach bath and liked the result, you can see it on the page I made.

I also used some Basic Grey Stamps and after spying the way Gina had stitched on some beads I decided to try that too, although I think her stitching looks way cooler than mine lol

Am loving this blogging through Windows Live Writer. It is very easy to use, lovin’ the features, for example the hyperlinks give you the browser history option, so no longer trying to find a link, the picture option allows you to alter size, the photo and you can insert the photo right into the text rather than messing around with dragging the photo into place. I could go on and on but I won’t lol if you blog, check it out! Also hoping that it is the end of me not being able to add photos through my blog because I’m still to find out where Live Writer stores the photos but love that it has made my blogging life a little easier :)

It's All About The Ink, Baby!

Was a gorgeous Autumn day today.





And I made the most of it.
Took a few photos, because the sun was out ;)

Loved the colours in this leaf

Megan came home from school with the insurable disease of A pendicitis.

It's also known as Oh-your-too-funny disease!!

It is pen spots on her arm, just in case you were about to panic that it might be contagious and you would get it! They had a play at school and she needed to 'dramatise' this one :)

As I was getting in the washing I found a ladybird on one of the towels. I thought of a perfect spot for him/her. In amongst the aphids on the broccoli! Wish my camera could take close ups better but you can see the aphids and a the out of focus ladybird :)

This arrived today

When I won over at One Little Word, which was word 38 Imagine, it was to win a RVA kit. It was just as RVA announced they weren't going to do their kits any more. So the lovely Ronda thought of a VERY cool prize instead, isn't she amazingly nice!

So today I received these YUMMIES

and had to play ;) So I grabbed some of the May QTea kit, some paper from Jedgell, some stamps from the Gauche Alchemy Acme kit and set about to make a page for the Inkurable Stampers Challenge, to use lace, ribbon and a stamp or two :)
