I Dream Of Exploring The World

Yesterday we celebrated a birthday
Yesterday Megan turned 11
As usual the girls were up early
and eager to get the present giving underway
We gave Megan a camera
I think she was excited

100_0076com

as she should be because it’s got more Megapixels than mine!

100_0079com

She had 3 friends over for her birthday lunch

100_0080com

there was much chattering, giggling and they even got to scrap a page each

100_0102com

and we gave them an 8x8 album each to take home with them
I think they enjoyed it and made some pretty cool looking pages!

oh and yeah there was cake, with extra cream like Grandma requested (or so Megan said :)  )

Today we had another early start
Headed to the airport to say bye to Dave

He is heading to Thailand for work
we filled the rest of the day around home
Megan started painting the canvas that Grandma gave her

100_0141com

and because Lucy had been asking to scrap, since yesterday, they all scrapped this afternoon

100_0152100_0157100_0154100_0156

and on and off through the afternoon I did too :)

100_0161

someone, a rabbit, has broken my sewing machine
so I found out when I went to sew on the page
So I will be taking that to Mum and Dad’s tomorrow in hope Mum might find out what they have done
I love the Maya Road stick pins

and their mist, which I used on some hearts I made from scrap cardboard

and the journaling :)

“I Want To Tell My Kids About Scrapbooking”

said Elizabeth, talking about when she grows up
Now that made my internal smile light up
More on that later
Yesterday, before we got Jessica, I took the girls to visit the recycle shop
I found 2 packets of gorgeous OLD buttons
1 packet contained covered buttons and I had a play with them last night
While I waited for Dave to arrive home from soccer training

100_9792

I was also itching to have a play with some new stamps I had found on Etsy, from seller Pretty Tape

100_9795

Love the doily pattern
Would love this pack of stamps for that reason too :) :)
I also got some of the yummy paper tape, but more on that later too :)
See the flower??

100_9798

I see that Prima have released the same sort, with the frosty/glass glaze, I bought these from Lincraft lastyear and they are distributed by Sullivans, wonder if they are actually the same flower… just wondering :)
Also yesterday I picked up this tag, also from the recycle shop, it was a little more weathered than the ones I had so it seemed perfect to take home and put through the trusty typewriter :)

100_9793

The alpha stickers are Studio Calico :)
So back to the Elizabeth’s When-I-Grow-Up comment
This morning all the girls scrapped

100_9799

I had printed off a few photos for each of them and we took over the dining table
I even had the chance to start a page while they did their thing
They all made 4 pages, except Lucy who did 3

100_9801 100_9802 100_9803 100_9804 100_9807 100_9808 100_9809 100_9810

I was amazed at how well this scrap session went
I think that they have all, finally, got the hang of the whole paper/sticker thing and were quite happy to do their own thing without any help
I’m happy with that too :)
So the page I started, and then finished later

100_9812

Yesterday we found a lizard in the sunroom
It was one we hadn’t seen before so I did some googling and found out what type it was
A Mountain Dragon
Pretty cool name!
The journaling

100_9814

is on some of my new orange paper tape
And you can also see the orange spotty tape I used, here

100_9815

and final photo, lol
The other half of the doily I used a while back on the Baby Shower Day card, doily from Jodie on etsy :)

100_9813

Today we also had a visit from a friend and her 2 boys
She also stayed for dinner so it was good catching up with her
Today is also the 2nd last Friday before school goes back
Which means it’s the 2nd last weekend

MI... AKA 1001!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep post 1001 and it's a long one...

Friday night Megan was at a school sleepover/camp. It was held overnight at school, just the grade 3 and 4's and they slept in tents on one of the ovals. They had a fantastic time and we went to pick her up 8am Saturday. This is a photo looking across half of the oval so you can see the sea of tents.

We took the girls then to McDonalds for breakfast then home before Dave went to play soccer (they won 1-0).

Allison then came for dinner and a scrap so I roped her in to assist the girls in some scrappin'. I think they all enjoyed the process lol
and here are their pages

Lucy's

Elizabeth's

Jessica's

and Megan's

Today we didn't go to Church, opting for sleep ins, housework and just time at home together. So I thought I would play eye spy with my camera, seeing as I haven't done that in a while ;)

Spied some Dancing Ballerina's dancing to the Bee Gees

Some ready to be picked and eaten broad beans,
Elizabeth's kindy class had each planted a broad bean plant for their parents for Christmas last year. Her plant has thrived in the garden and today we picked, podded and cooked the beans we found.

Spied other yummy goodies from our garden

Spied some graffiti on a calendar
and was glad of those kisses and cuddles today.
Today was sheet washing day. Dave strips and remakes the beds, LOVE YOU DAVE, and today he made each of the girls beds and I spied this today which made me laugh and smile.
Lucy's

Elizabeth's

Jessica's

and Megan's

He also made dessert. He called it vanilla surprise. I spied the surprise, do you??!!
Was just a vanilla variant of Lemon Meringue and he had added green colouring to the custard... I'd like to say it's a boy thing but...
Today I scrapped this page, yep it's 12x12 lol

Had downloaded this free template, printed it out on canvas photo paper, cut out the Friday one, sprayed it with Jazz Blue Glimmer Mist, added the journaling and then stapled it onto my page.

Don't often use digi/printed/downloaded things to my page but really want to do that more.
Last night, while Allison was here, I worked on this canvas, which I finished off today.

Ok so here endeth this rather long post.
I am off to watch CSI!!
