By Louise Nelson, at the recent Escape 2 Create retreat.
Thank you Louise for the class!

This was a page that just came together without too much thought.
Just a whole lot of fun to make.
Which is just like meeting my pal EbonyJ
The new One Little Word challenge is up over on Ronda’s blog
Was such a fun time.
Make sure you go see what the rest of the team were inspired to create.
All so very different.
Love how a word can inspire so much creativity.
Back at the beginning of this year
I had a surprise email from Vanessa, the editor of Scrapbooking Memories Magazine.
She asked if I would like to participate in a style swap challenge
And create a page in the style of my lovely friend Sandra.
I met Sandra last year at Escape 2 Create
(the very best scrapbook retreat, held in Port Lincoln South Australia).
Through some emails
We decided to use some photos we had taken of us both, at the retreat,
and then the challenge was to create something whimsical and romantic,
In Sandra’s wonderful style.
I blew the dust off the drawer that held my flowers
And proceeded to find my inner whimsy.
I was going to keep the page subtle but some things call for bold
And Sandra is an amazing soul that needed more bold and wonderful.
So I sprayed a cream flower with some yellow mist and stick in on my page.
The yellow also mimicked the gorgeous decorations
That filled the “cropping shed” at retreat.
The page was fun to create and certainly captures a moment
That I will treasure for all time.
Thank you, Vanessa, for the opportunity to create and share
And Sandra, thank you for being amazing.
And finally,
The last page I made at retreat.
My seventh.
By this time I was a little bored with the things I had to use
So I pulled out some things from my Escape 2 Create goodie bag
and challenged myself to use them,
and some of the things I had purchased at the retreat stores.
So the blue you can see peeking out here
Is part of a paper bag found in the goodie bag.
The blue overlay, in the photo below, is from a Hambly overlay I purchased
And in this photo
The blue butterfly is from a Studio Calico rub on pack I bought
While the blue library card and the blue button/white scalloped flower are from the goodie bag.
and here i used the other part of the library card behind an American Crafts sticker
Purchased from one of the stores.
Loved that I could use bits and pieces straight away.
Seemed better to bring them home on a page than in the goodie bag.
What little goodies can you find around you to use on a page right now??
What recent purchases are calling your name loudly??
Get in and use them all.
Create!
Another cool thing from Escape 2 Create
Were the photobooth photos we could have taken.
Ebony, Gail, Kim and I joined in the fun with a few photos.
Before the photobooth style photos were printed up
we had this instagram photo printed.
We then set a little challenge, to use the photo and scrap in our own style.
We also used some flair.
Greatest View flair…
I also used the promo packaging from the Cocoa Daisy stamp that we all received in our goodie bag.
The rest of the page just fell into place.
And the spelling error… I can blame on the late nights and lack of sleep
The journaling came about after a lunchtime conversation I had with some of the lovely ladies from the retreat.
Gotta love that!

EBONY VAN DER STARRE
KIM JEFFRESS
Lots of fun
Lots of laughs
And I mean LOTS of laughs!!
Teaching at the Escape 2 Create retreat was a huge honour.
I’ve never taught before
And to teach along side Kim Jefress and Ebony van der Starre…
well, let’s just say I was in awe!
Kim taught her class on the Friday night
Followed by Ebony’s on Saturday morning
And mine in the afternoon.
Ebony had made some example pages, in her class,
Of misting and masking.
She was going to toss the cardstock but instead
I used one of those pages as the background for my fourth page.
The orange misted lines were from her class.
Ebony also does amazing things with tea.
I tried and failed dismally but I did use the tea bag label
In fact I used 3!
I love the “corroded” look
Funny, when you think about it…
Being that my page is all about coffee!
Oh well!
Just goes to show that I will play with just about anything on a page!
As long as it’s fun!!
