Today was the reveal day for the September Cocoa Daisy kit
and the Printers Drawer arrived today too
So I got busy creating
Here is my first page

painted the thickers (which are my favourite font right now)

Just love love love the Jillibean Soup “Crushed Tomatoes” paper, that is in the Pattern Paper Add on
which is where this blue beauty is from

I cut some of the paper away, from behind the photo, and added it here
in the 7Gypsies tab

machine stitched a wonky looking love heart

and typed up the journaling

and that went a little wonky too lol
have another 2 layouts on the go so stay tuned for those, tis a gorgeous kit indeed!

Everyone Knows That Dogs Never Climb Trees

Tonight was “Snitzy Night”
Chicken Schnitzel’s in a '”make it yourself” salad roll

with some mushy homemade sweet potato fries

I’m not one of those Mums with a menu planner on the fridge
I usually have no clue what we will have for dinner until I pull out something out of the freezer that morning
and what goes in the freezer depends on what is on special at the supermarket or the butcher
and today it was schnitzel

Today Megan and Jessica attended a Writer’s workshop at school
Elizabeth, Lucy, Dave and I filled the time out and about
We strolled around Salamanca Market
and ate Bratwursts for lunch

Tomorrow is the second day of the workshop
wonder what we will find to do while they are busy there.

The Day Will Dawn Of Sanity

This week has been book week at our school
The girls had the option of dressing up on their library day
Tuesday Elizabeth took some rabbit ears (to be a rabbit from a Littlest Pet Shop Book)
Lucy took a princess dress (to be whatever story princess she decided on at the time)
Wednesday Jessica went as Nim from Nim’s Island
and today

Megan is going as Hermione Granger from Harry Potter

‘tis good to see her super excited about it all

Off to the Doctors this morning to find out Jessica’s heart monitor/echo results

Yesterday I was here 
chauffeuring and supervising 10 Grade 6 kids
It was a good day
outside
in the sun
My face is now sunburnt
Today I have had 1 little chicky at home with a sore throat
well, not quite at home
we had a doctors appointment this morning,
to find she has a viral infection and seems to be on the mend,
we then had trips to the bank, post office and supermarket.
she picked the wrong day to be sick lol
or maybe not
she had sushi and ice cream for lunch
and then used the sushi container for some craft work
and made a munching monster

If There's A Place You Got To Get

Today I had the privilege of spending the day with an M&M
This morning she drew a map
This afternoon we picked up my school girls and the map was read to direct us home

of course we turned up the wrong streets
found many dead ends
but the giggles from the 5 passengers was sooooo worth it!!
Thankfully the car knew how to get home and we arrived home safely after our adventure

Starts You Asking A Daisy "What To Do, What To Do?"

I’ve had this blog post rolling around in my head for some time
It wasn’t lonely, there in my head, because there are quite a few ideas up there
some are just waiting for the right words
some are just waiting for the right time
and some just float away with many of my other thoughts
never to be retrieved, sad sad sad
Anyway…
Have you noticed a time in the day where you are the most creative?
a time where things flow out better than any other?
Have you noticed your creativity time?
I have
It’s almost always 1.30-2pm
the time when I am meant to be getting things ready so I can jump in the car for school pick up
I’ve wondered why I can’t be as creative at 9am
why I bottle those creative juices and use them at 11
but no
hit 1.30ish and I’m itching to create
and it all comes naturally
sometimes I am just too busy to heed the call to creativity
but not today
and I’m glad I listened
I haven’t created anything in a while
so it felt good to just play
a simple play
but a good one

played with some older Sassafras Lass papers
doodling and paint

my favourite alpha font right now is the American Crafts Sunrise thickers
I love that they are a little quirky AND that the pack comes with lots of lower and upper case letters

and I love my blue typewriter for helping me jot down this little moment in time

There Are Birds And Some Are Singing

Spring is coming
and that makes me smile

all these are from my garden
many more than any other year
yep every other year we only get one or two lol
this year there are a few more
and more on the way
now that makes me smile too!
Dusk time is now filled with the birds chirping
It’s like they are happy spring is coming too!
All those worms that are defrosting making the birds sing lol

Had Elizabeth to the Doctor today
her ears and throat are playing up
AGAIN
saw a new GP and she has written a whoop-ya-butt letter to the Ears, Nose, Throat specialist
She told me that if he still doesn’t want to take the tonsils out to go get a second opinion
so another specialist appointment is now on the calendar and we will see where that one takes us!

Apart from the paint, American Crafts lettering and the paper bag everything is from the August kit
Used one of the Smash paperclips to make a heart

love the colours of the Cosmo Cricket buttons

altered the Cosmo alpha stickers

painted them
added some dimensional magic and sprinkled with glitter
added the journaling to the photo

Oh boy!
Christine celebrates her 1st anniversary of taking over Cocoa Daisy in September
and there are many cool things that are going to be happening

Today I spent some of the day at the Cardiac Centre
Went with Jessica who spent the waiting time knitting

we were waiting so she could have an echocardiogram and a holter monitor

She had these tests four years ago
and they found she had an infrequent Supraventricular tachycardia
today we were retesting to make sure there is no change
because I’ve noticed some changes and want to make sure it’s nothing major
Back to the hospital tomorrow to have the holter off
Back to the doctor next week for the results

I Don't Know Just Who To Blame For This Catastrophe!

Today Lucy lost her first tooth
Today Lucy lost my last first tooth
She went to bed last night ‘worried’ about loosing her first tooth
She came home for school excited about loosing her first tooth

We have a tradition
the first tooth is mine to buy
after that the tooth fairy can pay for them
so someone is a whole $2 richer tonight – Lucy
someone is a whole $2 poorer tonight – Dave lol
I didn’t have a $2 coin!
Took some photos to scrap
Will be my last ‘first tooth’ scrapbook page
Another milestone
Another childhood stage notched up
Another ending/beginning
Tonight Dave, Megan and I went to Megan’s high school information session
She is super excited about next year and all the possibilities high school offers

I’d Like To Sing A Story For You

What do you do when you procrastinate?
I find things to do
but not the thing I should be doing
today I cleaned the bath and shower
mopped the kitchen floor
did the usual washing
and made 2 batches of muffins

Now that’s a good type of putting things off
isn’t it??!!??!!
I made a batch of
Milo Muffins

Wet Ingredients
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup milo
2 eggs
1 1/2 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla essence

Dry Ingredients
1 1/2 cup self raising flour
1 cup plain flour

I used half the mix to make small muffins and then added sultanas and made 6 large muffins

I also made a batch of Apple + Pear Muffins (adapted recipe from “Muffin Magic”)

Wet Ingredients
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 grated apples
1 grated pear
2 eggs
1 1/2 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla essence

Dry Ingredients
1 cup self raising flour
1 cup plain flour
1/4 tsp baking soda
2 tsp cinnamon

as with all muffin recipes mix the wet ingredients before combining the dry ingredients
Cook at 200c
time varies 10-20 minutes depending on muffin size

Everything Is Satisfactual

The August “Siren’s Call” kit from Cocoa Daisy is full of amazing bits and pieces
Gorgeous pattern paper
including a sheet from Cosmo Cricket and October Afternoon
these two papers just screamed ATC to me
so I listened to the scream and made not one but 2!

both have little words that I needed to be reminded of

I used some water colours to paint the figures
fun
some mist and some paint
fun

For Christmas Miss Jessica found a pottery wheel in her Santa sack
Back in January she played and made a very cool little pot
and the photos have been waiting since then

I just love alpha sticker backing sheets and the October Afternoon sheet was perfect for this page

Getting back on my feet

It’s been busy around here
I haven’t been scrapping much
but I think I’m getting back on track
Wanted to share what I created for Scrapmatts 

this page features the new Australian Federation Interior Arch

one of which I cut up

and I also used a butterfly

to top a crocheted butterfly I purchased in Brisbane

featuring the gorgeous clock 

love the moving parts
I used the cut off section too

to go with the clock on the 7Gypsies journal tag

For this page I used hidden journaling but used a few journaling tags/spots around the photo
just a little play on things and keep people guessing lol

Finding the ‘cake’ in life is something important to me
finding something to make life a little brighter
taking the time to notice what is going on around you
Sometimes it is harder to see
but it’s there
This last month, she says shaking her head that it’s already a week into a new month, has been super busy
Lots of things happening
been back to school scrapping with the Grade 6’s
reports home from school and parent/teacher meetings (all REALLY good there)
friends home from overseas
visiting sick relatives
all mixed in with the usual week to week, day to day
canteen
school
sick kids
you know how it goes
but
there has been ‘cake’
not much time for scrapping but every now and then I had a play
and pulled together an entry for this years Scrapbooking Memories Masters
I haven’t entered before
I’ve thought about it
I’ve daydreamed about it
but never had the nerve to give it a go
well, today that changed as I posted off my entry

Glad I got it all done
Glad it’s on it’s way
a nice slice of ‘cake’
Hope to have some more ‘cake’ tomorrow
