My Wittle Birthday Boy :)

Yesterday was Dave’s Birthday

We had a surprise lunch, after Church, with some friends before my lovely friend Allison came over to look after the girls while I whisked Dave away to the movies :) The girls were really good for Allison, the movie and food was nice and I am told he had a nice birthday :)

Today was back to the grind. Lucy and I spent the day around home. She decided to make a jumping castle with the couch cushions…

In the afternoon we had our oil heater removed. We never used it, due to the cost of oil, so we have had it taken out and have already talked over a few things to fill the space where it was :)

That about sums up how I have been feeling towards creating, blogging, doing…
Spending lots of time being, which has been good :)

We spent Thursday afternoon in town and she was so super good we bought some Dora leggings :)

Soccer has started up again, for the girls, Megan had a bye today and Jessica’s game was something like 4 or 5 nil… her team didn’t score :) Dave played this afternoon, 2-3 and less muddy than last week :)

I’ve been painting, it was almost finished Thursday but I wanted to add the text, and it has been bugging me so much that I haven’t created anything else, but now it is finished so on to other things :) I used water colours, acrylics and glimmer mist on this, will leave you to guess what’s what ;) ok a hint, most of it is glimmer mist :)

and this is the art work of a little miss, who decided to climb on to Elizabeth’s bed, top bunk, and draw a little something on the wall this afternoon :)

Preparing For The Next Season

Is something I have been thinking about today, but more on that later :)
Firstly our day started frosty but with this gorgeous sunrise, as seen from the backyard, through the recycled shower screens that are in front of one of the garden beds, a sort of glass house if you will ;)

Spent some of the day outside in the sunshine. The wind was icy but the sun was OH SO GOOD!!
I cut back the last of our raspberry canes and did some sweeping up of autumn leaves.

Which got me thinking about how we prepare for the next season in the garden and in life.
Today I picked up a notice with the dates for Pre-kinder, which starts next week, and that had me thinking about how Lucy doesn’t have long till she becomes a ‘school girl’ and that life will soon be changing to a new stage. A time when all our girls will be at school, a time when it will be just me at home and a time for new adventures and new learning.
So embracing all of that and holding close the time spent at home with 1, Lucy and I made her requested butterflies today. We just cut out butterfly shapes

and she coloured them in.

She then made a shooting star and a smiley face, which brings me to the page I made today, using the rest of the bleached stamped paper I made yesterday.

I have been trying REALLY HARD to use up more of the things I have so for the title on this one I…
made a’s by cutting off the top off b’s and turning them upside down, cut an f and turned it into a t, cut a 1 into an l and used the extra bit with an r to make a u

added some paint for a journal spot on the Basic Grey paper, think it’s BG… it’s older too

used a Such Sweet Tierney chipboard button and a Crafty Matters smiley face

and this paperclip that I have had for a while now

The other papers are all from Jamaica on Etsy.

Soccer training was meant to start back today, for Megan and Jessica, but because of all the rain it was cancelled. But Dave was nice and still went up to school and brought the girls home, love that :)
Guides starts back tomorrow night so it’s going to be a long day lol
Ok am off, Dave just made a coffee and whipped up some cream for the pastry I baked and we are having some matchsticks, yum ;)

Back Into The Swing Of Things

Our school girls went back to school today.

So it was just Lucy and I at home again, felt weird lol

We filled the day in around home.

Building computers

She wrote the keys for the keyboard.

We also made a cubby house, pulling out some of the couch and she moved in behind,

and loved it!!

And because I finally had time I thought I would tackle the new Inkurable Stampers Challenge.

The challenge is to stamp using a bleaching technique, Sarah has shared a tutorial on it so please go check it out :)

So I played.

I used the cap of the bleach bottle to bleach some circles onto the Co-ordinations cardstock

I learnt, through playing, that the ‘glossy’ side of the Co-ordinations paper does NOT bleach and that some of the other colours of Co-ordinations cardstock don’t bleach too well either. I used this cardstock, as opposed to Bazzill, in hope that it might bleach through to the other colour core but it didn’t. I also scrunched up some Kraft cardstock and dipped it into the bleach bath and liked the result, you can see it on the page I made.

I also used some Basic Grey Stamps and after spying the way Gina had stitched on some beads I decided to try that too, although I think her stitching looks way cooler than mine lol

Am loving this blogging through Windows Live Writer. It is very easy to use, lovin’ the features, for example the hyperlinks give you the browser history option, so no longer trying to find a link, the picture option allows you to alter size, the photo and you can insert the photo right into the text rather than messing around with dragging the photo into place. I could go on and on but I won’t lol if you blog, check it out! Also hoping that it is the end of me not being able to add photos through my blog because I’m still to find out where Live Writer stores the photos but love that it has made my blogging life a little easier :)

A Boy Lives Here

Dave had soccer yesterday and came home looking like this



He also made us some Brandy Snaps for dessert, he used some plastic pipe to roll them...

This morning we were on car park at Church, waving hello and welcoming everyone as they drive in.
So with that in mind and the fact that school goes back tomorrow, we took the girls to Subway for breakfast



This afternoon Megan was playing her DS and letting everyone have a go.
I spied her and Jessica sitting in the doorway of Jessica's bedroom, had to take a photo :)

Don't Fall Asleep At The Wheel

Dave had the day off today and we headed to the park up the road.
We got there a little after 10am and left around 12.
It was cold, overcast and very wet but we had fun :)

We have had lots of rain of late. This is normally dry or a trickle at best.
