I Dream Of Summer Days Filled With Colour

Here we are mid week
Already into February
This time next week I, and the girls, will have  survived the first day of school and be ready-ing ourselves for Lucy’s first day of kinder… more on that one later :)
It has been warm/hot for the past 4 days
Sunday night Dave pulled out the blow up pool and filled it for the girls
My sister and her 2 girls came over and enjoyed a splash before staying the night

Monday
my sister and her girls went home after a wonderful time here
We had to get some groceries etc and came home with a minicino, for the girls, and a caramel latte for me
Late Monday afternoon Megan was picked up and went for a sleepover at a friends

Tuesday
we picked Megan up and went to pay our school fees
Megan’s teacher from last year was there and asked if I was ready
I burst into tears on her
Seems that after being so good at not thinking about it I finally caved
No I am not ready but they are and that’s the most important thing :) :)

After, our, lunch my pal Allison came to visit, in her lunch hour, and brought us all icecreams
So we sat outside and enjoyed :)

then last night we had friends, Joe and Anna and their 3 kidlets, over for a bbq

Joe had made Megan an early birthday cake, her birthday is on Saturday
A fruit cake…

it didn’t last long :)

 

and today….

Haircuts for the girls



Another thing crossed off my to-do-before-school-starts list
The girls then spent some of the day playing with some plasticine

Elizabeth a snaily snail

Jessica

some batty bats, using apricot leaves for wings (all our apricots are gone now)

and Megan made the universe… or her interpretation of it, using apricot leave stems and a branch

Love Tara Whitney’s blog and her post regarding a photo of all of us really inspired me
I had taken some photos, while we were in Launceston in January, so I knew I could really do this
So I am hoping to continue this on each month for the whole year
And think it will be a) fun and b) rewarding once I have 12 months worth of photos with all 6 of us in
But I know it will be a challenge to a) remember and b) get cooperation :)
So here are our umm family snaps from January, which will also explain the dilemma in getting family photos :) 
Yay to cameras with timers :)

Hoping that by the end of the year the girls might realise what we are doing and I will be interested to see how the photos change :)

2 I really want to go on holidays
3 I am better at 10 pin bowling in real life than on the Wii
4 Today I found out that my best friend’s Great Aunt was married to Dave’s Grandma’s cousin…
5 I need to make 2 3 things so I can post off some happy mail to some people
6 We had another bbq for dinner tonight, Dave made some hamburgers and they were yum! We also cooked some sweet potato on the bbq and they were yum too
7 I don’t know why I had to underline and bold a word in each fact, but I did!

I recieved my Qtea kit, Roller Derby Doll,  yesterday and got my teeth into it straight away

Sneeze Sneeze Sneeze!

Today Dave was the taxi man for all the soccer runs, leaving us sick people at home, rather than facing the cold day. Megan’s game was first and she came home rather muddy but got off lightly, I am told lol. Jessica’s game was at lunchtime and was in goals for part of the game and Dave said there was one point where the parents, on the sidelines, wondered what the noise was. Jessica was sitting in goals singing to herself…
Really proud of Elizabeth today
She stayed at the birthday party and didn’t get upset when I left!! It’s the first party she has been to where this has happened and it’s one of only a few times where she hasn’t got anxious about me leaving
She had a fantastic time, the jumping castle that was there really helped lol, and has done nothing but chatter with excitement all day

Recently I have been given some blog awards, just been saving them up for a time when I could sit and think about what to write/who to pass them on to

This afternoon I scrapped, playing with some more from the Q-Tea “Flicka and Friends” kit

Had a little spillage with the yellow glimmer mist, but Lucy didn’t care, she loves the page lol

Cut into one of the Ormolu buttons, and added it to the gorgeous flower that Jodi made, and added a flower sequin to another, to give them both more dimension

 

Well Dave is now on the couch studying so I might go annoy him, I mean nuggle ;)

Today has been a wet, stormy and cold type of day.

Took the girls to the library, where we got lots of books including 3 or 4 paper craft/Art books, at their request. Then we came home and they fought over them, sigh lol

Dave was home early today, which is always nicer than nice :)

Had an email, waiting for me tonight, from the lovely Annemarie. She had been reading a US store catalogue, Lily Pulitzer, and in it they were promoting their new clothing line, which are in gorgeous colours, and the money goes to their charity "A Colorful Cause", which is raising money for Epidermolysis Bullosa. Getting Jiggy With It....

Well, trying to pretend I am lol

Warning this is a long and photo packed post :)

It's been hot and now its cold again.

While it was hot we did some of this...

I set up a cubby house outside with a sheet and some pegs, between the play stuff. They didn't stay in there, in the shade for long so that didn't work so well but I think I might use this idea again, when they are all at school, yes a long way off yet I know, and the weather is nice.. can you see me in under there with a book???? I dream of times like that lol You can just smell the serenity!

We did some of this...

because the trampoline is in the only spare space in our backyard Dave set up the blow up pool in the garage. It was FFFFREEEEEEZZZZZZZiNG!! It was so funny because Jessica was the only one to really enjoy it and she is the one that feels the cold the most, because of her heart stuff, but she was like a fish!

Oh and we did some of this....

Yeah I know its has absolutely nothing to do with the heat but they were yummmmmmma and Dave made then for us on Saturday morning :)

The big reveal of the Feb kit happened over at Scrap-n-Crop so I can finally show you my makings!

and for this mini album I printed off photos on the Canon Selphy, so then I didn't have to crop or round the corners, used the new laminator we bought and I laminated the photos so the mini can be used as a key chain or the likes.

Saturday night Allison came over for dinner and a scrap. I made these two pages, in amongst the talking...

Last night we had more friends over for dinner, which was lovely, so the weekend has been full and busy.

So this was the 6th photo in the 6th photo. Its of Jessica, 15 Feb 2003, watering the garden at our old house.

thought I would also share this one that was the 8th photo. Megan, who would have been 4, helping Poppy (my Dad) renovating and extending the house we lived in, we rented off Mum and Dad. They put on an extra bedroom and extended the kitchen/dining. All while we lived there and while Elizabeth was a baby.

looking at this photo I am amazed at how much weight Dad lost last year. Proud of him :) This is one of my fave photos when I look back through them :)
