Our day started with...

Dave pancakes, yum.

today was a little lazier than yesterday but somehow still busy??!!
The girls played together all day, mostly really well, Dave got to read his book, I baked some choc chip cookies, dusted here and there and had a general clean up around the place.
Tomorrow Dave is off to Melbourne, plane leaving at 6am, for 2 nights. Hopefully he could be back tomorrow night but we will see! So I have been putting off things so I can fill the days while he is away.
Today I did a page in my This Is Me journal, about pets
and this page of Elizabeth, used a pair of pants that was to be tossed out for the polka dot material (I just couldn't throw out polka dots!), the ribbon came from WHO KNOWS WHERE and was found in one of the girls rooms, some doodling and a sticker from Silvita's happy mail stickers.

Hope your week has started out well and thanks for visiting :)

Thursday wish it was Friday

hmmm

Dave's at soccer training tonight, I await his return sometime before 9, all being well :)

Today, in amongst the vacuuming etc, I found time to do a page for my This Is Me journal, the challenge prompt was Our House, you had to say what you didn't like about it but I didn't quite do that ;)

I also scrapped this quick page

I received this in the mail today

some happy mail from the lovely Silvia!!

What do these 3 have in common??

Ali Edwards, my pal Allison and little Lucy???

hmmm you'll have to read on and find out!!!
Rolling back the clock to yesterday first...
Yesterday was a slightly hectic day with this

Elizabeth wearing bathers from the dress ups, topped with a hat from the same dress up box, covered in blankets and eating cake!!

Allison came over and arrived in time for lunch.
Then my Mum turned up with her Aunt (my Great Aunt) and they also had lunch.
They left in time for us to go get Megan and Jessica from school.
Allison stayed for tea and then a scrap, which was fun :)
Caught up on my This is Me Journal, with this page about weddings

This is a photo of my journal to date :)

Then I scrapped my page for the challenge over at Scrap Mojo. You have to use the quote "Oh the places you'll go" and a picture from the Dr Seuss Books. Lovely Allison brought 3 books with her (she's having a garage sale tomorrow and these were 3 that she didn't think would sell). I used the Fox in Socks book to create this.

Very inspired by Ali Edwards 'Life Artist' book and the pages she had using the 'pocket' plastic sleeves. Saw these Embroidery floss holders at the craft shop the other day and bought a packet. Loved using them and love the page!!

Also inspired by the layout she has in the book, on page 63, that I scraplifted the page. Scraplifting isn't something I find easy to do so it was a huge challenge and I struggled, even though the page was easy and my layout simple!!

So thank you Ali Edwards for the inspiration and the challenge!!

I think I convinced Allison to enter the Mojo challenge too, her layout is very cool and I am looking forward to seeing her enter HINT HINT ALLISON, but I'm not giving any peer pressure at all because I know what happens when I apply pressure..

Today Dave's pruning the fruit trees, Uncle Samuel is coming with Lucy's birthday present, egg and bacon pie is in the oven cooking for lunch and the girls are playing... Earlier they had a restaurant, will leave you with the photos of them enjoying the little role play.

Welcoming them to the restaurant is Chef Megan

Don't you just love their fancy attire!!

Don't really know what was on the menu but they had fun!

Thanks for visiting :)

How many sneezes do you do??

When I get a sneeze attack I sneeze and sneeze and sneeze.. Yep just had one ick

Anyway...

Megan came home from school yesterday with the news that she had been elected into the student council for school. She was over the moon and shocked that someone new to the school could get this opportunity after only being there a few days. Was really good to see her happy.

Last night I went to scrap but had no motivation to do a layout so instead I caught up on my This is me journal pages.
This one is for the 'ticket to ride' page. I would just go on holidays, destination wherever!

This one is for the latest challenge, favourtie city

Today I was still lacking the motivation to scrap a layout but after pushing things around I decided to pull out the photo album that came in a Qtea kit and I covered that, with material from another Qtea kit, the quote was also in one of the kits.

Have started putting random photos from 2007 in there. Photos that remind me of things or photos that I love.

Covering this was good mojo because I was surfing some blogs and read about a challenge that Brigitte had set, using her new coffee set as inspiration. So, always up for a good challenge and loving the colours, I created this, about Megan's wonderful news.

Used things from various Qtea kits, the butterflies were flowers (from Marlies) that I snipped the stem and turned them into butterflies and the hearts are cut from the post pack I got from Rebecca. Love using things up ;)

Think that's about it, nice day around home with Elizabeth and Lucy.

Red and white... colours of Valentines day??

Or the strawberry sundae Dave brought home after soccer training last night?? Thanks Dave :)
Today we dropped Megan and Jessica off at school then attacked the to-do-list. Completed our tasks and headed home in time for a visit from Allison. We had a nice lunch with her, thanks again for the yumma icecream!
After she left, and before heading to school, I finally completed my This Is Me journal page. Am behind so this is the Fave colour page. I love all colours so my journaling is about what colours mean to me.
Thought I would tell you about some of the new challenge blogs that I have added to my links, and hoping to get to eventually!
I Spy Challenge - a very cool photo challenge blog
White With 1 - Great scrapping challenges
Need to get rid of you scraps?? - Great challenge blog for this!
Masculine Scrapping Layouts - great inspiration for scrapping fellas!
And leave you with a tag I just received from Ed :)
You must post the rules before you give your answers. You must list one fact about yourself for each letter of your middle name. Each fact must begin with that letter. If you don't have a middle name, just use your maiden name. After you've been tagged, you need to up-date your blog with your middle name and answers. At the end of your post, you need to tag one person for each letter of your middle name. (Be sure to leave them a comment telling them they've been tagged and need to read your blog for details).
P - Parent, paint lovin', playful (Dave suggested perfect, pretty and puffy... thanks Dave!)
A - Amusing, a big sister but not a younger one, Australian
T - Thoughtful, trustworthy, thankful
Glad I have a short middle name ;)
Ok I tag anyone who wants to play :) Just make sure you tell me you played :)

Off their rockers..

Well, I think they were, the girls spent the afternoon putting on performances and music shows... I videoed 2 of them and was going to add one here but the minute and a half performance is 30+Mb!! So I didn't add it :) was funny, Megan on guitar, Lucy on drums, Elizabeth as backing vocals and Jessica as lead singer... Golf clubs for mics and a toy oven as one of the 3 drums...Lots of jumping around... LOUD but fun.

Scrapped last night. Did this layout of Elizabeth

This page in my Art journal, just playing around and something that took me a while to figure out...

and this page for my This is Me Journal, to journal about your favourite place to eat.

We picked Elizabeth up today and are dropping Megan and Jessica off tomorrow after our busy day packed with paying school fees, swimming and other bits and pieces.

Today we also had a picnic lunch in the back yard. Was just leftovers but the girls enjoyed it :)

Hope your day has a been a smile filled one :)

Jamie Oliver Part 2!

A while ago Dave and I watched one of Jamie Oliver's shows. On it he made a 'sausage ring', well while I was away last night Dave cooked this for the girls

You take a string of sausages, untwist and squeeze into one big sausage then curl, cover it with whatever yummy things you have, Dave used plum sauce, chicken salt and garlic (that's all I can remember), then you bake. The girls loved it!

He also made apricot pie :0)

So before I went scrapping at Allison's I made a new page for my Art journal

yes it is different to my other pages, but that's how my journal is... its about thoughts I have had. So this page was mostly about the story I posted here. Is about what baggage we leave behind as we journey through life. That I will rise above it all, that I won't be held down by the things that taint my day. Its about lots of other smaller things that made me feel I just had to put it on paper.

Also yesterday my computer monitor decided it didn't want to work :( Lights were on but no one was home!! So now I am using Dave's and he is considering nicking Jessica's for a while. Is different having a different monitor! Especially looking at my layouts, the colour on here is different!! Oh well, will see if I gets me a new monitor now :)

Ok so on to my scrappy day (thanks again Allison!).

I created 3 pages

and then did my This is me journal page, challenge was where does most of your money go/what do you spend your money on.

Then I made a start on altering this broken book

into this

Is for my sister, with photos of her 2 little girls inside. Still to add something to the inside pages.

Jessica is back home, we went to Mum and Dad's for lunch after Church. Glad everyone is home again :) Dave has the day off tomorrow Yay :)

Thanks for visiting.

Quality Time

and lots of it ;)

This morning we took 4 bikes, 4 girls and a soccer ball up to a nearby school oval.

Kicked the ball

Rode the bikes

Ran on the grass

and just had fun!!

This afternoon the girls played in the pool Uncle Samuel gave them for Christmas.

Yesterday Allison came for a visit, stayed for tea and had a little scrap ;) I completed another page in my Art Journal

This page for the latest This Is Me challenge, what you like about winter

Then this page about Lucy and her love of the beanie

and, just to prove I don't HAVE to use paint (lol Allison), this page of Jessica and about how I am proud of her resilience and positiveness in regards to the change of school that is happening this year.

And on top of all that I had an email from Danielle saying I have been picked as one of the Guest Designers for her Q Tea kit, I'm the lucky March girl :) can't wait to see what I will get to play with!!! What a wonderful opportunity and I am very thankful to Danielle for choosing me, in amongst all those other amazing people!! And AND the lovely Lusi mentioned me on her blog because she found my work inspiring... ME??!! So glad I could inspire someone, amazed I can inspire someone with so much talent and chuffed she mentioned it :) so pinching myself a little today ;) Thanks Danielle and Lusi, for beliveing in me :)

And I will now leave you with a photo of a dead mouse I found today.... Thanks for visiting ;)

Remembering...

Completed these 2 pages today and the word remember features on both of them so I figure I must be reminiscing a bit today!!

First on for the This is Me challenge, What you want to be when you grow up.

Journaling "I don't ever remember ever having my heart set on 'being' anything. I studied office Admin. because I knew there would be work at the end of it. I tried the Uni thing but it wasn't me. I loved the youth work I did and I know that is where I will end up, somehow, but for now I am loving the most important job in the World, loving you four wonders."

and then this one was for the challenge over at Category Stories to scrap about toys

Journaling "I don't remember having dolls when I grew up. Don't know if it's because I didn't have them but I just don't remember. Our girls will always remember that they had dolls. All sorts! Barbie, Bratz or Polly Pocket, they have them. But our girls have 'boy' stuff too. Tonkas, Hot wheels or farm sets, they will remember them too. Love watching them play and sort of glad they have dolls."

Today we had a visit from Karina (ha see your name in lights now!!) and her 2 boys, was great to see them and we enjoyed having them come visit!!

Not much else so, as always, thanks for visiting :0)

OH OH OH I forgot something VERY exciting!!! My Apricots layout was picked as a fave of the week over at SIStv and is featuring on the catwalk!! Very Exciting, thank you Gigi!!! Made my day :)

Do you have one of these??

Someone who likes to rearrange the toilet rolls??

Quite often, almost on a daily basis the spare toilet rolls, which live on the window ledge above the toilet, get arranged. I just stack them when I put them there and have been greeted with different arrangements when I return. Well this photo is of how I found them this morning and I will take photos for the next week and post them here so you can see... Yes I do know who it is as one of our wonderful daughters has a paper fetish (she like to rip paper into little pieces) and also has a tendency to make things ummm neat or perfect. So look forward to that won't you lol

Yesterday we spent the day around home, playing lots :)

Here is Master Chef Elizabeth making you a cup of tea and lovely cake

Lucy showing me how she can hula, and she does it really well!

Elizabeth also showed me how she does it, she spins herself around and around lol

Last night Allison came over for tea and a scrap. I wouldn't have scrapped if she hadn't come so am thankful to her for that! Elizabeth got a magnifying glass for Christmas and was playing with it last night. She wouldn't let me take photos but would let Allison!!

So last night I scrapped my This Is Me page, the challenge was to be like Oprah and list your fave things of 2007, so for me that was:

Gloria Jeans Caramlatte, Love, Elsie, Lagoon paint, Lost- series 3, Monorail daypass (a lovely memento of my Sydney trip) and smiggle stuff!!

Then I scrapped this, it isn't quite how I wanted it but its scrapped now :)

I then finished off this one today

and I got to scrap this one today too.

This morning we called in to a park on the way home from Church and the girls had a lovely time playing, Lucy was in her noisy element!!! We got home, had lunch and then went outside to enjoy the sunshine. Wasn't too hot today, tomorrow is meant to be a scorcher, so we enjoyed being outside. Dave played totem tennis with Megan for a while and the rest of us just enjoyed sitting ;)

So that was our weekend. What have you been up to?? Hope it has been a happy one :)
